Jan and Fabio opened the doors of The Banc in 2011 – reclaiming it’s status on West Green Road and renovating it with love and care to add some much needed pizazz to the area.

The Mediterranean style restaurant has lots of twists, from burgers to farmed fishes. This was a labour of love for our young men, two local boys who went to the local comp and decided to give something back to their community.

They pride themselves on the fabulous fresh cooked food and they serve a legendary Tomahawk Steak (try it – it’s out of this world). Visit us at TheBanc, you’ll be bowled over by their hospitality – the duo are renowned for their service with a smile.

    Has been revamped since the lockdown and does look great. The food however has suffered as a result and is now also more expensive. Won’t be back, there are better options available which is a real shame as this used to be one of my fav places to eat.

    Was too small and loud and the food was actually okay, had to send back a cocktail that wasn’t nice, the service was a little slow aswell but it was just an okay experience for like casual times but never would I celebrate there :/

    First Honey moon dinner - travelled from Birmingham and had a booking for 9pm. Arrived at 9pm. We had to wait in the tight entrance area for 15-20 minutes before we were seated. I felt claustrophobic. 2 female customers walked into the restaurant after us and got seated before us. We did manage to get seated in the end but had to wait. The Food wasn’t to our liking. The sirloin Steak had way to much blood in it. I realised this once I started to eat. Overall an average experience.

    Awfull experiance Drove all the way from walsall to london for the banc. Ordered the food came out in decent time. Ordered a medium well done steak started eat the steak started to bleed on my plate it put me off they messed up the order then i sent it back they recooked the same one and sent it back out this time without any sauce. Then again i re requested this And yess again my steak was still bleeding on the inside after that i put me off my food drove all the way down to receive this. Manager tried offering more food however i was put off. Steak was taken off the bill which was fine manager said he also took off the service charge (which is optional to pay anyway). Will not be returning to the banc would not recommend to others Steaks are awfull Drove 2 hours 30 mins just to eat some fries :( very poor

    Banc is amazing! The food came out really fast and was delicious, I literally cannot fault it. I’d say though that Banc does not accept card payments, they are cash only. Overall a solid 9/10

    Probably should have booked a quieter place for our meal, but thats not a fault on the restaurant. Food was lovely and well priced for the quality. A little on the reserved side tastewise, but that is the market. Service could have been a bit quicker, waited 30 mins between starter and mains. Understandable on a Saturday night, but not really an aspiration. Main complaint personally was the noise level, music was around bar/small club level. More a mistake on my part, so do bare that in mind if you want a quiet dinner. Also, why is it cash only? For a £30-50 pc price, are you expecting people to carry cash around in 2021? And I get that there is a cahspoint on premises, but it just seems like you're trying to hide your books, or assuming that diners are commiting credit card fraud. Also thought the waiter counting out £200 in front of me (which I'd just pulled out of their cash machine no less) a little tactless. I get that this is a fancyish restaurant, and you're still in ends, but these things ruined my experience. I think this is a nice enough place, just not one for me

    Amazing service!! We loved the gentlemen that served us, he was so kind and service was so smooth. Made my girls birthday fabulous (and he even celebrated me being newly single again with tequila shots). The steak was cooked to perfection! I can’t wait to dine here again. Worth every penny. Lovely ambience and great vibe.

    The food was not good value for the price. I got the lamb fillet which was way too salty. Mocktails are way too expensive given they are not even alcoholic and come in a standard glass size. I got Mash as a side and it was lumpy and not mashed properly. The ambiance is confusing the music was not enjoyable at all. No air con s downstairs and you can’t pay by card downstairs but you can upstairs. The decor was confusing. Gave me club vibes which is not something I wanted.

    Getting in the Banc wasn’t too long we got taken straight to our seats which were lovely, The atmosphere was good people I didn’t know started talking to me which means it was good vibes all round. The food came fast and it was really nice and filling great dining experience

    We were rushed from start to finish, very poor service. In the end we were in and out in 1 hr 15mins despite there being 1.45 time allowance on the tables. We werent given a single moment where we wernt being rushed and after desserts they came and put the bill down without us asking. Apparently they dont take card which is a surprise for such a large restaurant so we were forced to use a cash machine inside. After paying the waiter actually said to us we will keep the change and tried to usher us off. This was change in addition to the already 15% service charge they had automatically added. Terrible service, definitely would not recommend or ever return here.

    We had an amazing time last night. The food is bang on, started were so nice and tasty, drinks as well. The lady who show us our table was really nice and helpful. However overall service could be more attentive, we waited for our drinks 30 minutes and every time we wanted to order something we had to look for a waiter. There is definitely space for improvement. But we still enjoy our evening, it was very nice when the gentleman who I believe is the owner served our starter, he makes it really special. I will definitely come back soon.

    They allow smoking in the premise. Good for smokers terrible for non smokers because you just inhale smoke while eating. Only ac eat cash but minor inconvenience due to there being a cash machine on site.

    Although the food is great. I noticed there are slightly less staff than before the new theme/design. I wouldn't say I took too long to order but the food did arrived slower than everyone else. When it came to ordering desserts I was told the allocated booking time has finished so I cannot order anything else. I left confused.

    Waiters kept getting mixed up with tables. They need table numbers as I didn’t appreciate my starters sitting on someone else’s table and then being brought to me afterwards. I booked and had to wait which is fine but I’m heavily pregnant and wasn’t offered a chair. Overall it has a nice ambience the staff was nice the food was tasty, toilets were clean enough and its a good for north London

    We had to wait 25 minutes for my cocktail & 30 minutes for our cokes. I sent my food back twice, the lamb was raw & bled all over my plate, chips were cold. Manager of my area - table 533 told us it was because it was bank holiday & they were busy!! They were so busy they forgot to cook the meat!! It is a very noisy restaurant, and I will not be going again

    First time I’ve been since the refurbishment and first time eating, loved the atmosphere and decor. There’s so many delicious options on the menu, I got a steak and it was delicious, I’ll definitely be going back again and trying something different :)
