A unique restaurant with terrace, bar and café overlooking the bustling Borough Market; Rabot 1745 has the polished elegance of a Saint Lucian plantation house stylishly transported to the heart of London with authentic touches like hurricane-felled Ironwood, brought home from their own 250-year-old cocoa estate.

The Rabot Terrace brings the Saint Lucian party spirit to London this summer! The open-air dining space is a free spirit just like a Saint Lucian ‘jump-up’. A relaxing island get-together for drinks, food and music outdoors after sunset. Please specify a terrace booking in the special request box.

At heart of London’s most exciting food market, Rabot 1745 offers a ‘cacao cuisine’ menu featuring contemporary dishes influenced by the West Indies and Britain, with the savoury richness of cacao used as a subtle garnish, infusion and spice throughout.

It was the chocolate concept that attracted us and it did not disappoint. The food was fantastic and the waiter that served us could not have been more helpful and polite. We will definitely revisit and recommend to friends

I came here for a business lunch. What a pleasant surprise. I loved the place. The food is so creative. The cocoa undertones match perfectly the dishes. The place is very nice too. I liked it a lot.

Loved coming here for dinner but upon arriving on a more recent occasion for afternoon tea for £60 to share between two people, I was astounded by the expense of it! The menu was poorly worded and the quality of the food wasn’t very impressive :(

We went to Rabot 1745 to celebrate our wedding annviersary and it was the perfect choice! The menu was to die for, service was very good and the whole feel of the place was very romantic. They even wrote Happy Anniversary! in chocolate on our dessert so it felt special :-) I would recommend it to anyone for a special occasion. It's not cheap but very much in line with what you get so we felt it was good value.

Good food and attentive polite service. Many wines available as 500 ml carafe so you csn have more than a glass each but not a whole bottle. Quirky due to the chocolate bean theme. Good place for lunch or dinner.

Wasn't sure what to expect due to the chocolate aspect but the starter of pulled pork mountains were lovely as was the beef, sadly there is nothing with the beef apart from some gravy so you have to pay extra for the mash or chips etc. We chose to sit out on the terrace which, due to the market cleaners, was very noisy but the heaters and blankets supplied kept me warm enough, I would go back but probably not for a birthday meal again.

Table booked for a 2 hour slot but that wasn't enforced which was much appreciated. Sat outside overlooking the market for the starter but then got a bit cool so we moved inside. The chocolate lava pudding was superb. Beef very good too. Goats cheeses starter a bit disappointing - would have liked some bread with it. I am a chocaholic so had always wanted to come here

Great lunch time get together with friends from way back. Seated in a very nice area and looked after from beginning to end. The chocolate element is never overstated in each course and compliments the food perfectly. The chateabriand was superb as were the rum babas had by all three of us to help reminiscences of Sidoli's in Old Broad Street from the early 70's. That said the rum today certainly outdid the 70's sweet sauce. If I were to be picky the food could have been a little hotter.....But maybe 3 senior men living in the past take too much time over their food. Yes we will be back.

The food was as usual very good but the service detracted from our experience. I was called on the morning to make sure I got their on time as 11 30 is last breakfast booking. We got there at 11 20 and ordered but they forgot to put it through. After waiting over 45 mins I had to go and find out the problem as no one came to ask/tell us the problem. The waiter to be fair came over and apologised for his error but it was compounded by being too late for breakfast so we had to have lunch which was not what we wanted. They offered us a free drink and some bread and olives and we had a very good meal which somewhat saved the day
Yes I would go again and only because the waiter was so apologetic and in my opinion a credit to the restaurant

Not quite sure this lives up to the hype. Food was good, but with the exception of the white chocolate mash and molten lava pudding, was not as heavenly as the chocolates we buy and eat regularly. Nice ambience, lovely staff, quite pricey for the taste quality though. Definitely a box ticked, and would recommend going, but not on my ‘personal treat’ list to revisit. They did a lovely birthday message on my partners pudding, so definitely a nice touch.

We had been to Rabot1745 for a birthday dinner 2 years ago and I booked again as a surprise for my boyfriend's 30th birthday, sadly it was a disappointment. It didn't specify when I bought the gift that there is a set menu to select from, last time we visited it was any starter, main and dessert from the full menu with certain dishes excluded- this meant we only had 4 options per course to select from and sadly each one was incredibly bland and sub par, the best part of our meal were the sides which we paid extra for. Last time we had been the restaurant knew it was for a birthday and brought out his dessert with a candle and happy birthday decorations which was so lovely, even though they knew it was my boyfriend's 30th birthday and checked when we were seated at the table, at no point was this recognised which was a shame given our prior experience. Overall the evening was really disappointing given how much we'd loved our experience previously. I would not return again

Amazing food and good choice, however we were made to feel second rate because we used a Red Letter Day experience voucher.

Food; we were pleasantly impressed with the flavour and quality of the food, especially the unique blend of traditional dishes mixed with the unique chocolate flavours. I would definitely recommend the 100% chocolate latte.

The food was amazing and it was a nice treat for my boyfriends birthday. However the staff were rude and unhelpful. Something that I don’t expect when I’m paying £90+ for a meal. I told them it was his birthday when I made the booking and even provided some candles to put in his pudding. Our waiter was rude and didn’t talk to us and then forgot to put my candles in his pudding. Then didn’t even apologise. I spoke the manager who told me the normal practice is to give a special birthday plate but that they were too busy and just “forgot”
I wasn’t offered any sort of compensation and just left feeling very disappointed. Not the way I wanted to end a lovely and expensive meal

We arrived at 6:30 pm and had a table outside overlooking the market and at times it was quite noisy due to the cleaning machines in the market

We were there at 5.30 Friday evening and sat on the terrace overlooking the market which was still buzzing. Loved it. Excellent service and delicious meal. We had two starters instead of a main which was perfect for us. Absolutely loved the goats cheese. Certainly different from the norm. We’ll be back soon.
