Located at the historic Gardner Hardware Building at 515 Washington Ave N in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis. The NOLO's team consists of Marty Collins, Brett Johnson and Peter Hoff, each native Minnesotans with extensive industry experience. Marty has owned over 10 restaurant concepts in Minneapolis, MN, Kansas City and Columbia, MO, and Iowa City, IA. Brett and his family have owned and operated The Hilltop Restaurant for the past 40 years. Pete, the head chef, brings his most recent culinary experience and creativity from California to NOLO’s, The Rooftop Bar and The Basement Bar. His culinary vision and passion for local ingredients create new modern comfort food dishes. The team shares a passion for the restaurant and bar industry and sees an opportunity to fill gaps in the market in the North Loop.

    Great lively vibe, especially for a Thursday night! Nice selection of appetizers - two of which, the Brussel sprouts/cauliflower and the whipped feta cheese were very good! Chili crunch bowls are yummy as is the Walleye Sandwich!

    Basic. Went with a group so I got to try lots of things. A few items were very good, the rest were below average, including my drink. Small portions for the price. Checking this spot off my list, with nothing to return for.

    Dining here seemed to be more about the vibe than the food. For the most part, the food wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t special. Nothing was particularly bad, but also not particularly good.

    There were 4 of us who came to NOLO prior to a Twins Game. I had heard many positive things about it, so wanted to give it a try. We will not be back! Everything felt off! Staff were congregating near the kitchen talking among themselves and didn’t seem concerned about customers. The overall attitude of the staff felt indifferent. Everything was slow from the moment we walked in until we left. Food was good. However, the service and feeling welcomed are on the top of my list for restaurants today. I did not feel like our presence was important to them. There is so much competition; especially in North Loop. You need to “up your game” in training your staff to be more personable and welcoming. Sorry…you lost 4 customers due to our experience.

    We went for my birthday and had a great time! Macy was our server and was really inviting and helpful in deciding what we wanted. I had the seafood curry and it was really good! Plenty for lunch the next day too. Definitely plan on coming back.

    An absolute icebox inside - miserable if you don’t have a sweater. I usually love the avocado toast, but this time the smashed avocado was also ice cold, like it just came out of the fridge. I figured it was fresh made but guess not :/
