Passero is a trattoria-inspired American restaurant located in downtown Arlington Heights. It is the collaboration of Italian-American heritage over many generations and the culinary interpretations of Chef Matt Peota. By sourcing ingredients from the surrounding areas the dishes also reflect the seasonality of the Midwest.

Passero translates to “sparrow” in Italian, and like the sparrow this neighborhood eatery symbolizes joy, creativity and hard work. Passero serves as a reminder that busy hands and minds promote a happy and full life.

Please note that indoor reservations cannot be transferred to outdoor reservations. A credit card is required for parties of 5 or more. We request a minimum 48-hour notice for any cancellations. No-shows or cancellations within less than 48 hours will be charged $5 per person using the credit card on file. If you are running late, please call us. We cannot guarantee reservations for arrivals past 15 minutes of the reservation time. We look forward to seeing you!

    Join us for an outdoor reservation and try some of Chef Matt’s seasonal dishes crafted with ingredients from local farms. Please note that outdoor reservations cannot be transferred to indoor reservations. We are not able to accommodate parties over 5 in our Patio. We request a minimum 48-hour notice for any cancellations. Please dress accordingly. In case of inclement weather while dining, we will provide food to go. We cannot guarantee indoor seating, and umbrellas and heaters are not available at the moment. If you are running late, please call us.     The bar staff seems miserable! Not friendly at all. The girl particularly dismissive. Pizza and pasta good but prefer Bar Salotto for the same and friendly staff.

    I have been several times and this time service was very slow We had to wait over an hour for two salads- And we had to ask our server where they were The table next to us got their appetizers and main dish before we got our salad Food is always good and usually the service is good

    Server Sebastian was friendly, informative and attentive. Though we are long-time fans of Loretta’s chopped, we opted for the Caesar and were pleased! However, the chicken salad sandwich was underwhelming - chicken was tiny pieces of chewy dark meat - and overall, just not up to Passero standards.

    Excellent food and service. This is my 4 th time here. Consistent food quality and always good service. Please turn down the music. This makes me choose this restaurant less often, which is too bad because it is enjoyable otherwise.

    Wonderful service and food. Love this place. It was too hot to eat outside, and the noise level is pretty high indoors. However, that means if you’re at one of the banquettes, different parties won’t hear their neighbors LOL! Wine prices are a bit high.

    I’ve been here twice, the first time was great! This time the food was not cooked the same. Ordered potatoes gratin and this time it came out dry, bland, and burnt. Everything had an off lemon taste. Definitely not worth $130 for 2 dishes and an app. Was excited to go back after the first experience, but probably won’t go back now. Too expensive and the food was below standards.

    Great food, really nice server. But our table was set up, but not clean. There was sticky stuff on one side; obviously hadn't been cleaned. Our server cleaned it right up when it was mentioned.
