Bonaroti is the best. Old school in the best way. See for yourself.
Excellent food and service.
Landini's in Old Town is so so much better.
Waiter upsold everyone's order saying an appetizer or entre was too small to share - so arrogant...then after a $400 dinner for 4 they hinted us to leave at 930PM when the place was empty... wait staff obviously wanted to go home.
Fantastic job by the entire staff
We had a most wonderful time joyfully celebrating our belated Valentine's day dinner. I do believe it is the best restaurant in the Tysons, Vienna, and Falls Church areas of northern Virginia. The service is outstanding, the food most delicious, and management always makes their patrons feel tremendously welcomed and appreciated.
My friend and I ate here on March 1st and we had a wonderful experience! We both had the linguine Frutti De Mare. Mine was with vodka cream sauce and hers was with spicy tomato sauce. FABULOUS! The portion size was good but I thought it was about the same size that I had gotten a month or so ago for lunch. We would have both preferred less calamari and more shrimp and scallops. The bread and desserts were also delicious. We will be back! This is a hidden treasure ... try it, you will not be disappointed!
Went there to celebrate son’s birthday and the food was fantastic and service was great! Very attentive staff!!
This is the real thing if you are looking for classic authentic Italian food in a comfortable elegant atmosphere. Excellent top notch service.
Fabulous in every way, good is out of this world . I rate it a ten out of ten.
Always a pleasure. Service and food was superior.
We decided to dine here for my husband’s birthday after not being here in a while. The crusty bread was so hard it was nearly impossible to cut or bite into it. The avocado salad special was delicious - and they kindly divided between 2 plates. My husband enjoyed his Dover sole but the sides were just ok. I ordered a shrimp with vegetable in tomato sauce over penne pasta that was nothing special. We didn’t order desert but the restaurant very thoughtfully treated us to a lovely small birthday desert to share. Not bad but nothing special either.
Ristorante Bonaroti never disappoints me. Their wait staff is mature and highly skilled. The food is always outstanding. This time around, the Dover Sole, fillet at the table by the owner Sergio, was amazing. This is one of the most consistently excellent restaurants I've ever been to.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. From the cocktails in the bar, the olive tapenade accompanying the bread, the delicious veal saltimbocca and the wonderful gelato, Ristorante Bonaroti really shined. The service was excellent and the owner paid particular attention to the entire dining experience. Bravo.
If I owned this restaurant I'd cut out about 30% of the menu items. The waiter recited about 20 specials for the night, but after the 5th I couldn't remember what the first one was. Maybe print the daily specials.
Great Italian restaurant. My wife doesn't even like Italian food, and she loved it. I would definitely go again. Highly recommended.
Considering it was Valentine's Day, this review should be understood with that condition. First of all, we were seated right away, although not in the main dining room, but in a function room that wasn't well suited for comfortable dining. It was way too crowded and often diners were jostled as others walked by. However, we were pleased that the menu was extensive and not a reduced or set holiday version. We chose an excellent bottle of wine, which was reasonably priced. The salads were very nice and large, though the tomatoes were not worthy of a fine dining restaurant - they were cold and tasteless.
The veal rollup entree was a bit overcooked and bland. A salmon dish was good, but the risotto was tasteless ans obviously had been prepared in bulk - not surprising for such a busy night, but again was below our expectations. Desserts were good, not great.
All in all, a pleasant, relaxed experience (we were there almost 2 hours), but it didn't overwhelm us. Also, we were surprised how much higher the entree prices were in comparison to the menu online - $6-$8 higher. Another reason we were a bit underwhelmed. Entrees that command a $30+ price should be outstanding. These were not.
We may try again on a non-holiday occasion.
Truly a gem! Amazing food and outstanding service. Owners take personal care of their guests and treat them like royalty! A MUST for true Italian fare!
Ristorante Bonaroti is a neighborhood gem. The food and service is always impeccable. The owners/management are cordial and attentive.
A wonderful "old school" Italian place, with classic dishes and kind waitstaff.
If we lived closer we'd dine here much more frequently. Since hubby had to fly to Los Angeles we came for dinner on Sunday. Luckily, they were offering a half price deal on bottles of wine. Loved the Sangiovese! The focaccia in the bread basket is best when warm & soft. Served with tapenade, a red dip & dish of olive oil w/ balsamic vinegar. Barry had delicious mussels as his starter while I savored the cream of asparagus soup (topped w/ parmesan). Entrees were Rack of Lamb & Osso Bucco. We will order those dishes again! Danesi cappuccinos were a treat, and we sampled the chocolate lover's cake. Our waiter was excellent & the manager took time to say hello. Keep up the good work!
I've lived in the area for over 20 years and I hadn't gone until this past weekend. I can't believe what I had been missing out on. The service is incredible, the staff is extremely knowledgeable, and the ambiance was perfect for a special dinner. The food and wine were beyond exquisite - something we will be talking about for a long time. We can't wait to go back. If you haven't been, take the opportunity to go. You won't regret it for a moment.
Ristorante Bonaroti has the best Italian food! The service is outstanding. The decor is a bit dated, but we don't care! We're so focused on the great food.
When we lived in Virginia we use to come here all the time. We were visiting this weekend and were excited to come back. However it was a big disappointment because the food quality has changed drastically.
Amazing food and great service.
I will definitely be back.
A terrific evening of fine food and exceptional service.
Thank you Sergio and team.
Love Bonaroti. Food is always so delicious. Sergio is always a nice face to see - on vacation when I was there this time. Love the salad - always fresh. Lasagna is my favorite. They know exactly how I like it. Dining area is very nice and classy. Definitely always coming back but have to watch my calories because it is sooo good. Definitely recommend!
We were seated right away for our reservation. The menu is extensive (no beef) and heavy on fish and pasta. The food was good except the Caesar salad which was just blah. It’s a simple way to make a good first impression but it was like a cafeteria salad if you know what I mean. My tuna special was delicious as was the side of white beans. But my husband’s pasta carbonara was just ok. He makes it at home and was expecting more.
Except for a new and lovely wine bar, the ambience of the dining rooms is the same as I remember from years ago at our last visit, an outdated interior, paintings, fixtures and old ceiling tiles. The waiters were wonderful and on it at every turn. They still sing happy birthday to diners which is old school and although there were three serenades in our small back room, it wasn’t obnoxious.
Overall it was a pleasant experience but some updating is needed and, really, a good Italian restaurant shouldn’t skimp on a Caesar salad when it’s so easy to get it right.
Great place if you like Italian food. Wine list could have better description for wines, but I guess you can always ask for waiter's/owner's suggestion. Great seafood selection.
Sergio always does a great job! Best Italian food in NOVA.
Excellent food, charming staff! Great date spot that saves a trip downtown.
Excellent Italian food. The wine was impeccable. There are a lot of specials that are not on the menu. The server took a while to go over them. It would have been better to have them listed. Otherwise, its the perfect location for a night out or just an amazing hearty meal!
Fantastic dining experience. If you're looking for really good, authentic, Old School Italian cuisine this restaurant will not disappoint.
Very large menu of interesting dishes. Half off wines on Sunday a great attraction.
Service was superb; food also. Delightful surprise was that much of the wine list was at half price.
Excellent food. Great service One is our favorite.
We went to Bonaroti’s for New Year’s Eve. As always, the service was excellent, the menu had great choices, and our selections were delicious. We made a New Year’s resolution to go there more often.
One of our favorites!! There are times when we plan our day just to end up here for dinner.
Excellent and professional wait staff; menu selection broad from pasta to meats to seafood, plenty of glutton free selections; quality of food is excellent, ambiance conducive to dinner table conversations .
Great atmosphere, excellent food and top notch service. Not more you can ask for in a dining experience. One of the best hidden gems in the Tysons/Vienna area.
