Excellent food and service but dining room was a bit loud
Service was attentive and friendly. Menu offered many options and food was well prepared. It was our anniversary and the waiter offered us a complimentary dessert. A very nice evening.
Celebrating friends engagement
My wife and I have dined here on many occasions and it is excellent every time!
We arrived Sunday for dinner before concert at Wolf Trap. The staff was very accommodating in serving us in a timely manner so that we could make the concert on time. Next visit we will plan to make it a more leisurely dinner. The half price wine menu on Sunday was a nice surprise. We will visit again.
Really enjoyed everything about this visit, from the attentive and friendly service to the elaborate menu to the amazing flavors!
Sergio the owner was not there and it showed.. been a customer since he opened in 1981 i believe..always sergio would bring out parmigiana to nibble on.. i had a party of 11 and was told that service is only for expensive wine! I bought 6 carafes of wine.. had a veal chop to die for
Service was good till entrees were done then waiters got lost for 20 minutes.. i got irritated..almost left
Then got white mousse cake as i have done for almost 40 years.. was different.dry .. sergio or his son would have never allowed my issues.. but overall one of my top two restaurants.. sorry sergio but they need u there! U make things perfect
My husband and I went for our 47th wedding anniversary. We were seated at a lovely table and each server was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We each started with a drink and split a salad. My husband had one of the nightly specials and I had something off the main menu. Both were very good and most important for my husband his meal was served hot....doesn't happen all the time at other places. We were presented with a special anniversary desert which was amazing and after that, we were brought liquor glasses of Amerato with small biscotti cookies. It was wonderful. We felt like we were valued diners and this does not always happen so this was a great experience for our anniversary.
The best Italian food on this side of the Atlantic. When you go, take your time and enjoy! Sergio and his staff will take exceptional care of you.
It was great!!
Explosions of flavor; the way Italian food should be. Old school ambience and service. Slightly worn, accoustic tile ceiling, waiters who've been there 20 years. No misfires on any of our dishes. Highly recommended!
I brought my mother here for her 95th birthday because I knew the owner and staff would spoil her. They did. She loved the food, service, and memories of her birthday at this very special place.
Four of us spent over two hours for dinner not because we wanted a diner that was quite that leisurely but because the service we received was very slow. While the menu had an appealing variety of meals, it even took a long time to be given menus. It seemed that many of the other tables had customers who were repeat customers who were known to the staff and that they received quicker service. The food was good but not great. It would have been nice if the menu had indicated that the main meals came with a vegetable and potato (or if the server had told us this) so that we wouldn't have ordered side dishes of vegetables which were not really needed.
One of the best-kept secrets in Northern Virginia. Fantastic Italian cuisine with attentive, welcoming staff and quiet elegance. Local and national celebrities know and love it-don't miss out on a top-flight restaurant experience.
Great people great food
My wife and I tried Ristorante Bonaroti for the first time this evening and we were both very impressed! We were taken to our table by the owner and continued to receive excellent dinner service. The food similarly did not disappoint and we enjoyed every last bite. At the conclusion of our dinner we were bid farewell by the owner and thanked for dining at his restaurant. We could tell that the owner prides himself in his restaurant and the whole experience made it an easy choice to return in the near future.
We have been loyal customers here for nealy 30 years.
In our view, one of the very finest restaurants in all of the DC area.
We love genuine Italian cuisine and this restaurant is , by far the very best in this catagory.
In fact, it continues to somehow to always improve.
The owner , Sergio , is always there to make sure, everything is always perfect.
No place better!
Classic and classy Italian restaurant! The service, the food, the entire experience was all one could hope for.
Outstanding!! We recently moved out of the area and were in VA visiting. Bonarati was our first choice of restaurants.
The food was really good, and the menu is pretty extensive as is the wine list. Service was first rate.
This restaurant is a classic. Fantastic Italian food in an Old World setting. Attention to detail is paramount. The wait staff members are pros, insuring a perfect experience. One of the best places to celebrate a special occasion!
Why have we not been here before?? This place is a gem- we will be back! Service, food and ambiance surpassed all expectations.
After all this time Sergio is still the best. We had the Calamari Grigliati broiled with great bean and tomato sauce. I had the blackened Halibut with spinached potatoes. My spouse had the soft shelled crab in cream sauce. Both were outstanding in presentation, taste and portion.
We regularly dine at Bonaroti to celebrate special occasions. The service is always top notch, the food is excellent, and the cost is very reasonable. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone, if we didn't want to keep it our little secret.
We had a great time; the food and service were outstanding!
Wonderful food and service, along with an unexpected complimentary dessert (delicious!) to celebrate our anniversary. Highly recommend!
Always a wonderful experience.
Bonaroti is my favorite place to dine. It's so nice to go somewhere you know the food and service are going to be excellent, and it's quiet enough to have a conversation with friends.
Went for Mother's Day and it was just as wonderful as always. Service is excellent and so is the food. The most tender calamari appetizer. They also are very accepting of young children, and will accommodate them with half portions.
6:30 reservation. Seated promptly. Crowded seating. Attentive service. Food is well done but not more than good. Wine is overpriced IMHO. Dessert was good in portion size and quality. The meal was around $130 with gratuity. I think that the meal wasn’t worth that but it was good.
Service, food and ambience all outstanding for our Mom's Day dinner, with 3 moms present. Sergio, as always, was gracious and attentive. We'll be back!
We will go back again. Delicious and the service was outstanding.
Dinner was delicious and the service outstanding. For years among our first choice go-to restaurants for great food and special occasions. Thoroughly enjoyed the lemon cheesecake dessert.
Pasta was over cooked!
Wonderful food accompanied by an exceptional host! Serge always makes us feel special!
I went here for lunch. It is a hidden treasure. Lovely decor, perfect service, and great food. I will go back.
Great place to celebrate a birthday! Thank you for making it special.
