We were seated immediately, but it looked like they were well over the 50% limit in phase 4. My wife and I have been vaccinated, so I let it slide. The owner was in the kitchen, using his mask as a chinstrap or a nose support. Again, we let it slide.

Our order was taken quickly, so I got my hopes up that the opentable “Great Service” tag was well-deserved. Flag forward 50 minutes, and we FINALLY got our food.

My drink was never refilled. We had to get the bus boy to track down our waiter, so we could cash out.

The food was OK, but between the anti-masker owner and the inattentive service, and the a little better than average food, I don’t think we’ll go back.

Our server Kyle was amazing. Service was fantastic and we loved our meals. Veal chop was one of the best I have tried. Appetizer of calamari was light and flavorful.

Felt a bit rushed in the beginning of our meal, but the pace improved after a couple of table visits by our waiter who could then see we were there for a leisurely evening of conversation. Food was abundant and tasty, My friend and I both took home leftovers to enjoy the next day.

We love trying new restaurants and this one had good ratings so we gave it a try. We were not disappointed! The food was excellent and portions were plentiful- enough to take home so we could enjoy later. The service was perfect and I was very impressed at how quickly our finished plates were removed from our table so we could enjoy our after dinner drinks without the dirty dishes. It is the little things that make the biggest difference!

Wedding Anniversary

Great service and excellent food.

Ordered a Rigatoni with Italian sausage with a tomato sauce. The Rigatoni were not cook enough. The sausage ( only served one sausage) was burned and felt old and dry.

Excellent food as usual!! The scampi Prosecco was amazing!! Highly recommend this authentic Italian restaurant.

Great experience once again!

We had lunch there on Sunday. So sad to see how the pandemic paranoia has decimated this restaurant's (well, all restaurants) business. We were the only two dining outside on a great day to be outside. We've also been there in the recent past for dinner on a Friday and on a Saturday night. The food and service, as always, were great. But the place was largely empty. Pre Pork-zger, Bottaio has always been packed.

I'm sure hoping their takeout business (which we've also supported) helps them survive the lunacy of our obese dictator has inflicted on us all.

Give Bottaio the benefit of your support. And vote that wimp and all the rest of his ilk out of office in Illinois.

Spouse’s pasta was undercooked. Chef did correct, but dish was still lacking shrimp and flavor, for the price
