About

Sardinia (called Ichnusa by the ancient Romans and Greeks) has a great heritage of culinary culture and folklore, and we are proud to bring some of the unmistakable flavours of this Mediterranean land to you at our restaurant between Clapham Junction and Wandsworth. At Ristorante Ichnusa we offer the authentic taste from Sardinia, preparing our pastas and main courses in the traditional way our grandmothers did when we were kids. Strong, bold flavours and the freshest ingredients combine with handmade delicacies to produce an unforgettable experience for all who grace our tables. Our specialties include homemade malloreddus with sausage and saffron, braised rabbit, grilled venison, fresh fish and suckling piglets. For dessert there is also the mouth watering seadas drizzled with honey and a full range of tempting coffees and digestifs. We can also offer Gluten free and whole wheat pasta and Halal meats, meaning everyone can enjoy the real taste of Sardinia!

The lady with the ladle transports authentic Sardegna to Lavender Hill, and we have "Ristorante Inchnusa." The "seafood Fregola", prepared to order, is to die for; perfectly complemented with the local white, the "Vermentino Sardo"; presented with grace and charm in a relaxed and homely ambience at a price that is as honest as Gianfranco Zola's performance on the football pitch.
More gems from the island to be discovered, so can't wait for the next visit.

A place where the food comes first of all - typical regional dishes with handmade pasta and very fresh ingredients, lovely!

A friendly environment with a very good service complete the picture for a restaurant where you can spend a nice night enjoying Sardian food.

We have eaten here several times now and find the food delicious, the service is attentive and we always get help with any menu queries.
The lighting is a little on the bright side so I have only given 3 stars for ambience.

Booked a Saturday dinner for three based on the numerous positive reviews. The food was quite nice, don't understand why to serve a main meal on a tiny plate though, it was struggle to eat it without making too much mess. My friend found a cling film in her starter of cheese and cold meats, there was just a brief disinterested sorry from the staff. There are no nonalcoholic cocktail options on the menu so if you cannot drink alcohol you're stuck with water or lemonade, how dull. 12% service charge was automatically added to the bill without telling us, which we found a bit cheeky. All and all it was ok, the food is not that extraordinary as the reviews say, I would rate it an average plus.

The service was very good, friendly and helpful with any queries about the menu. The food was delicious and we will certainly eat here again soon, but possibly not on a Saturday night. We had booked and arrived promptly at 7 30 pm but at 9 15 were very politely, and with lots of apologies, asked if we could leave the table soon because other customers were expected. If we had been told that this was the case beforehand we would have booked the table earlier.

Good honest Italian cooking with perfectly executed and tasty pasta along with excellent service. Much better than many of the other Italians in the SW11/SW12 area. Highly recommended for a simple yummy meal.

It is a nice simple restaurant with delicious food. The fish stew was particularly good.
The only thing that prevented me from giving the restaurant 5* is that using the Tastecard was an issue. It was accepted at the end with various restrictions on the type and the number of courses to have. It was not 50% off the bill as advertised, but 2for1.

I really recommend this restaurant because the food is really tasty and truly authentic (I am Sardinian and hard to please); me and my boyfriend chose the specials of the day fregola with sea food and the gnocchi with squid ink and bottarga, both dishes were delicious and you could tell that the pasta was genuinely homemade!! The selection of Sardininan cocktails, incorporating typical liquors like Mirto and Filuferru, is really sooo good and a great start for the meal. The waiter was very attentive, asking us how everything was and making us feel welcome. The atmosphere was friendly and I appreciated the taste in music.
I will surely come back and bring some of my friends to make them taste Sardinian food!!!

If you like Italian, you'll love Sardinian. Even something that usually tastes rubbish - like rabbit - is delicious here. Very very very good chef. I hope it's not overlooked just because people don't know what Sardinian food is. And I'm also coming back with friends to order the suckling pig...which you have to be in a bigger party than 2 to order (preorder)...

We had a great time at Ristorante Ichnusa! Lots of expectations because we invited two friends and the evening was perfect. The guys made our night really nice and fun and they recommended the most suitable wine to go with the suckling piglet and we tasted some new desserts freshly made from Zio Bobo! Porceddu Sardu was simply amazing! Well done and thanks to treat us so well! Can't wait to go back again!
I highly recommend this restaurant to whoever wants to eat fresh homemade sardinian food and enjoy a great atmosphere!

We went to Inchnusa for my Mums birthday, and we had 3 children in our party. The service they gave to us and the quality of the food was exceptional. My mum had a lovely day and I can't thank the staff enough. The restaurant has a top class menu and big portion sizes so come hungry!
I would definitely go back and recommend to anyone who likes traditional Italian (Sardinian) food. Definitely go to this restaurant!!

We went for dinner on a Friday and we would like to taste some home flavour. It has been the best choice since we landed in London 4 and a half years ago. Everybody should try and I assure you that you will come back over and over again. The food is simply delicious, cooked to perfection and healthy. The chef/ owner knows his stuff and the people are really polite and friendly greeting you at the door throughout the meal. We had the sardinian antipasti and the mixed grilled fish for 2. I cannot explain...even writing about it make me hungry. Thank you guys for opening up this place xxx

I used to live in Italy and have always liked Sardinian cuisine and it's not easy to find - a mix between seafood and game and they have delicious indigenous grape varieties. This place is fairly new and excellent - it has a Sardinian chef - and a v good maitre d. The winelist is excellent as is the menu, and there are daily specials which are always worth trying. Nice atmosphere - mellow and relaxed - and authentic. Well worth trying and taking their recommendations - they know what they are talking about!

The restaurant may not look like much from the outside and the decor is simple but as is the growing trend, basic is best and the food speaks volumes. 100% authentic Sardinian cuisine, simple ingredients packed with flavour, my partner and I shared the Bruschetta and Antipasti which was plentiful and delicious, followed buy the Venison Raviole and Lamp Chops. Simply devine. The staff are helpful and attentive and you can tell really do care. A must try at the end for those brave enough is a Fishermen's Espresso. 2 courses plus drinks set us back £30 a head which for the quantity and enjoyment factor alone were well worth paying for. A real gem of a find, so many places boast authenticity and often full short. This one does not dissapoint.
