Waited long to be served. Food disappointing.
Absolutely not tasty food!! absolutely!!! from 5 dishes (bill for 2 person was about 300 pounds, without alcohol) only fish was edible and that was dry and even with potatoes inside even people at the next table returned main dishes because of their total bad taste !!! One Hour we was waiting hot dishes. Between appetizer an interval of 10-15 minutes.
Dear restaurant management, pay attention to the kitchen, this is the main thing for the restaurant, but you have it terrible !!!
Vacation with the family having a Christmas Lunch.
Everything was perfect and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Service was rather slow
Price of main courses are very expensive compared to menu outside the restaurant and on the price review on book a table!
But restaurant is very nice, quiet and elegant! Food is very nice too. Great selections of bread and nice service.
The quality of breakfast has gone down.
I love to dine in luxury hotels and have tried many so far non was the same as this one. called the restaurant on Sunday morning to book the 3 course meal offer for my birthday. Our booking was at 2:15 pm and I called the restaurant at 2pm to say we might arrive 5 to 10 minutes late as it was difficult to park near there but the lady said she won't be able to accept us any later than 2:15 at all! She offered to change our booking to another time and as it was my birthday we agreed to come back evening time. We had to spend all our afternoon from 2 to 7pm in central London and when we get there by 7pm they told us three course deal is not available for dinner!!! I was so disappointed that why I wasn't informed this over the phone and didn't really have a good experience on my birthday. Dinner menu main courses were not as strong as the other competitors I have tried so far.
The food is tasty and service is good!
Worth trying and must try the soufflé as dessert!
Friend gathering. Relatively good service. Food not great portion but ok
As soon as we stepped in the hotel, we were greeted by the receptionist immediately, who led us to the restaurant; the serveur provided excellent services too. We went on a Sunday (US Mother's Day); it was very quite, just a dozen of diners.
The choices on the menu was OK, but no soup or a cocktail list? Portion of each dish was appropriate, nothing much was wasted. Overall, it was a good meal and we enjoyed it. Thank you.
Always a pleasure to dine at Rivea:
Wonderful service, superb staff, excellent food, lovely intimate environment.
We will be back - again & again & again!
The food was good but quantity was small
The food was excellent albeit from a limited menu. There was a lot of originality in the dishes. The sea bass carpaccio with citrus was outstanding. The only draw back was the wine list which is a bit pricy.
Fantastic service, good taste but I hope they have more menu
suitable price. best cod ever!!! good and elegant service
This was our 2nd visit to Rivea and it did not disappoint, the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the minute you walk down the stairs you feel like you are in another world and forget you are in bustling Knightsbridge. The food is excellent with a fantastic selection available for everyone. The wine sommelier was a fantastic Italian woman from Puglia who was very informative and attentive. Highly recommend this restaurant, we will be back.
Awful set menu Christmas dinner. But staff was lovely. Bland food. Weird combinations
Excellent service and nice decor! Took my friend here for her birthday on a Friday evening. It was fairly quiet bit they were so attentive and gave her little sweet treats!
We have returned to Rivea a few times and have never been disappointed. We initially booked for my husband's deal and secured an excellent value deal from Open Table. Because of this we wondered if we would be treated differently, e.g. poorer service, second class menu, etc. But this was FAR from the case. The service was exceptional, and although the dishes themselves are small (as you would expect) there is a steady supply of delicious home-made bread. I won't spoil it for anyone by giving away too much info but I will say that there are extra touches that this restaurant bring to the meal that make it even more special. The food itself is a delicious french/italian mix driven by having both associations with Alain Ducasse and Bulgari. The tiramisu is a must! I am pregnant and so not drinking but the sommelier had no issue recommending wine by the glass for my husband to try - and her recommendations were delicious! This treatment is a marked difference from Marcus Wareing's restaurant at the Berkeley where the sommelier - knowing that we were not the sort of diners that could afford expensive bottles of wine - was completely uninterested in helping us. This is why the headline of my review for Rivea is "unpretentious". The decor is beautiful and it is a lovely, quiet environment to enjoy a special occasion - you will not be disappointed.
Third venture to this restaurant now and I have not been disappointed. Lovely well decorated environment and the food is very good.
The main course was horrible. The chicken was smelly and black(not burnt)but disgusting looking and I refused to eat it.
Amazing Food, Amazing Service
Rivea is always such an amazing restaurant to dine in whether it be for a date or a dinner with a close friend. The beautiful atmosphere and incredible decor, coupled with a very varied and exciting menu (and fantastic vegetarian options) makes this a very special night out. I was with my friend and we had a beautiful orange infused white wine, recommended by the lovely waitress. This complimented the food beautifully. The staff here are so attentive and lovely and really give you 100%.
Thank you Rivea for an amazing night!
Service was the standout success of our Rivea visit. We had two young diners and they were attended to brilliantly.
The dining room is at basement level and is a bit cold and dim, but all 6 of us were comfortable in our booth.
The starters were pleasant: the gnocchi tasty with the sage and Parmesan but the octopus strangely tasteless, though pretty
We ordered a double of the Cote de Boeuf for the 4 adults to share. The portions were ample and the beef wasn't chewy, but strangely lacked flavour for an on-the-bone cut.
The adults were so full, we all passed on dessert, although the girls enjoyed a raspberry tart
Coffee was accompanied by some pleasant petit fours.
The service was very attentive and even sweet with the girls, but the food was sadly average and overall it didn't make for a standout dining experience.
For the price point, expected more
The food was excellent and the portions bigger than expected. One appetiser and main course would suffice, I think.
absolutely spectacular service, almost matched by the beautifully presented and delicious food
Lovely food and great service. Our waitress Haidi was very friendly and thoughtful. Chef went to the extra mile to ensure food was the way we wanted. We received a small delicous mini cake for our anniversary which was a very pleasant surprise. Many thanks
The food and service hear were just incredible. The gnocchi, the veal, the lobster we're all highlights. There was a fun beginning to the meal, and it ended wonderfully. It was not crowded when we went, and we got great service. The dining room is luxurious.
Great service. Fantastic ambiance! And the food was absolutely Devine!!
I chose this restaurant for a birthday celebration after the last visit. Food was so good that I didn't hesitate to book it again. I was a bit disappointed this time with their Wagu Beef and truffles. I still can't understand why this culinary combination is so highly recommended except they can charge a lot for it. Still good and enjoyable cooking especially on the unusual starters and fish. Service was a bit over attentive but we were very impressed with their wine recommendations.
We enjoyed the afternoon in Rivea. The venue was very tranquil and beautifully styled. Each of the plates was presented like a work of art. The staff were absolutely charming and could not have been more helpful. I appreciated the wonderful scents in different areas of the hotel ... Bulgari maybe?
Quite a gem find in Knightsbridge. Very quiet and atmospheric bar for drinks but expensive. Two glasses of champagne comes to £50.
Dinner is very good. The lamb was superb. Service is impeccable. Would recommend it.
We were attending the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace and were initially dissappointed that the Ritz , where we had eaten on special occasions before was fully booked. Disappointed we were not , it was equally as good. The service was second to none and the food amazing. We had opted for the 3 course lunch menu which I have to say was an absolute bargain... but maybe I shouldnt mention that . Will definately visit again.
Excellent in all the respects
This was a special occasion of French dining. The food was amazing and the almond ice cream was delicious! Service was great, as usual. Cannot be faulted for food , service or ambience!
Very good on every front. Food, service, atmosphere, all excellent every time we go there.
Service was very good and friendly without being forced. Food was excellent and the lamb was outstanding.
Lovely place, excelent service, delicious food!
elegant quiet setting, attentive service bordering on intrusive. the food was beautifully presented and tasty but the portions were very small and the prices high.
We experienced Rivea's five course, fixed price, Christmas dinner. We could not have been more pleased. Each course was an adventure, with flavors that burst onto your palate. The food was both exotic and local at the same time. There was no way to pick a favorite among the five courses. The wine list was very extensive, and contains something for everyone. The service was without parallel. We dined for nearly three and a half hours. A record for us.
