RiverMarket Bar & Kitchen
Ambiance was great but the food was really disappointing. The pairings didn’t seem to make sense. We ordered the duck pizza and was expecting more than over cooked duck on a traditional pizza. It just didn’t seem to be worth the price at all.
We came for my birthday and had a wonderful meal. We shared a wedge salad, smothered in delicious blue cheese dressing. My scallops were large, sweet and yummy. My husband had the quail, which he just loved, together with brussel sprouts and polenta that he described as the best he ever had. We polished off our meal with the incredible Nutella brownie, a huge square of chocolate nirvana. We definitely plan to return here.
Had dinner here with my husband. Food and service were excellent. Interesting menu and nice choice of wine. The restaurant is not very well marked and my GPS did not provide the best directions
Patio first come - first served. No river view. Moderate noise level from nearby train station. Bees and flies a bit annoying. Inside seating abundant and stylish. Good bar size. A bit noisy when crowded. Nice speciality food market as you enter.
I have been to RiverMarket numerous times, and they never disappoint. The whole is always great. I highly recommend the mussels appetizer. The only negative I have was that we went to rather early Saturday dinner (5:30), and the music in the restaurant was way too loud. We couldn't even hear each other talking. But, as usual the service is amazing in this restaurant and the music was lowered with a simple request.
Great food and great service
Enjoyed eating here for a casual dinner with a friend. The bees outside made us change our table to inside the restaurant which was fine. The food was delicious and came out promptly. Our waiter left us hanging towards the end of the meal, we waited around 25 minutes to get the check, ended up asking another waitress. Wished the end of the meal lived up to the beginning. Would give it another try though.
Met a good friend for lunch. Restaurant is beautiful. Modern ambiance. Waiter was great ! Food was great ! A good time.
Great Evening! We celebrated my husband's birthday and it was a great evening. Service was impeccable, food was great. We sat on the patio which was very nice. We will be back.
The ambiance is great and the food is good but it’s EXTREMELY overpriced. I wouldn’t be as critical of the food if it was priced more appropriately but for $48 the lobster salad better be other worldly and it's not. The portion of short ribs was the smallest I’ve seen and I order short ribs everywhere, also the preparation was the most bland and basic. I wouldn’t normally be disappointed as it was still ok but if it’s the most expensive version I want more than ok. Cocktails are good but also very expensive. I prefer this place for brunch or lunch where I think the prices are more in line with the overall experience. Definitely give it a shot but if you go for dinner be prepared to spend some money if you’re doing apps, entrees and drinks.
Very Slow kitchen
Always a great meal! Nice wine list and creative cocktails! Outdoor seating is a plus!
No bueno ... I made a reservation to possibly sit outside but there were no tables ready outside. I was seated inside in the center of the restaurant and I requested to be seated by one of the windows. The hostess said those tables are reserved and I said I made a reservation. The hostess just looked at me so I sat down. I had to wait 40 minutes for my appetizer. The entree came out lukewarm. I ordered a second glass of wine as I was finishing my appetizer and it came when I finished my entree. My French fries were soaking with greasy oil . I think they need some new managers and more experienced servers.
Frequent this restaurant, this was a rare poor dining experience. Our server, was impatient, got our order wrong, and charged us for the replacement entrée, that he offered for the mistake. Upon several discussions, which he tried to tell us the manager was not available, he brought the correct bill. Instead of a nice meals, outdoors, beautiful night, we left upset.
Our server was attentive and immediately inquired about our beverage choice. We explained we wanted a few minutes and when she returned I ordered a dirty martini and asked about blue cheese olives. She said she would make them! My friend ordered rose’ and was brought a favorite to taste. The cocktail was delicious and the olives, it was obvious through taste and appearance, that they were in fact freshly stuffed! Impressive!
We ordered two different items and explained we wanted to try each other’s. Our server suggested that she would have the kitchen prepare half portions and stagger the delivery so that each would be hot.
We were given all the time we wanted to eat and visit...important because we only see each other once a year. Each year when my friend comes from Arizona we discuss where to go. We have gone to River Market the last three years. After a great lunch we left saying, “Same time, same place, next year”!
Our waiter was extremely hospitable, however the service was notably slow and uneven. I suggest that they use different glasses for sparkling water vs. regular water, as the water servers poured tap water into our sparkling water a couple of times. We sat outside and the deck/patio was quite pleasant.
Outstanding food, ambience, and location. Waiter was awesome and very polite. Service was phenomena! I would highly reccommend!!
Food was good and the place has a great location for the summer. Service was slow.
Can’t beat the ambience. I usually love what’s on the menu, however I found my zucchini pancakes with poached eggs skimpy!
My Wife and I went out for dinner with my in-laws, my parents and grandparents to celebrate a birthday. We reserved a table for 8. When we showed up they did offer us outside or inside seating, I chose inside since it looked like it was going to rain. We were seated within moments in what looked like a large room that had sliding doors opened. Overall it is tough to wait on a large party but our waiter was great, very patient and answered all questions. The noise level at first was ok, but once the restaurant got more crowded it was loud and we couldnt hear across the table. Also the lights became very dim at one point which made it hard to see menus. I know this is typical of a upscale restaurant, both crowds and dim lights, so i do not consider it a negative, just a nuisance that has to be dealt with at any upscale restaurant.
Food was good and came out pretty much at the same time, half of the table ordered the same thing so that helps.
At the end of the night i stopped at the little shop that they sell local goods at the front of the resturant. It seemed to have a bunch of things, eggs, chesses, milk, pastries, etc.
We will come back.
We had a very pleasant experience at RiverMarket recently. The food was quite good and the portions generous. Service was attentive. Outside seating is available in the summer and it’s a short walk to the riverfront. It was a bit louder than I would have liked but it’s hard to find a quiet restaurant these days.
Wonderful farm to table restaurant with great service and ambience. Small store in the front with fresh from the farm produce adds to the experience - loved it!
Delicious bread, burrata and lobster roll! Great service; beautiful restaurant. Didn't appreciate the yellow jackets while dining al fresco, but my bad - it's August. Will definitely be back.
Always a good choice for small or large groups.
Our server seemed very busy at first but then provided much better service.
The food was delicious but very expensive.
Worst service ever! Never going back to this place.
Service was awful- they need to learn how to actually take care of customers.
Good food and nice atmosphere. We were there for brunch on a Sunday. It was not very crowded and we were seated right away by a friendly hostess. We were hoping to sit outside as they have a nice outdoor patio but it was too hot. I had the veggie burger which was excellent.
Very trendy spot with decent enough food but not for the price and certainly not for the level of service.
Amazing restaurant and the food was great. But the noise level inside was off the hook !
Everything was ok
My friends and I ordered the salad and added 2 shrimp 🍤 each at $5 each shrimp. They were worth every penny! They were colossal and tasted like lobster 🦞
The food is consistently great. Never sore muscles so big in my life. And the white pizza was out of this world
Service is always very good, as are the food and drinks.
Food was mediocre at best. Calzone and bread were burnt, pasta was overly sauced and bland at the same time. Service was very good. We dined outdoors on a beautiful evening which would have been nice, however, Led Zepplin was playing loudly (and for a few moments, blasting) the whole time - strange musical choice that did not at all match the dining experience we were expecting.
Very under staffed and service was quite slow
We had a Margherita pizza as an appetizer which was ok, nothing special. For our entrees we all ordered pasta. The Linguini Neri was outstanding, fresh black pasta with a nice piece of lobster and full of flavor. The Fettuccine Primavera and the Soft Shell Crab BLT were also a hit. We were also pleased with our cocktails and wine. The service was ok, although our entrees took a long time to arrive.
All would have been perfect if our table would have been in "a quiet place where we can hear each other's conversations" as I had requested. Instead we were surrounded by big loud groups. I wonder what would have happened if I wouldn't have requested it......Overall, I would love to go back soon but definitely in another spot of the restaurant.
Overpriced and absolutely terrible service. $40 for short ribs that came out cold and flavorless. Sent them back only for them to stick them in an oven to heat up. Roasted oysters cold and rubbery. Our waitress came over every 40 minutes. Place is way too big with not enough severs. Wine list WAY overpriced....think they are trying to pay for the expensive space. This is not for foodies. Have an overpriced burger....maybe they won’t screw that up.
NOISE LEVEL WAS VERY VERY LOUD.. NOTHING WAS DONE BY MANAGEMENT TO TONE DONE
The setting was beautiful. The waitress was friendly and accommodating. Other than the salads, the food was just not good. I thought pizza would be a safe bet since I had eaten here before and thought the food was tasteless, but the sauce was terrible and they smothered the pizza with it. The tuna tartare was not properly cut. There were tough pieces that were hard to chew. My daughter’s gnocchi was flavorless. Too bad that the space is so nice.
Have frequented River Market many times and this past experience was very disappointing. Shrimp cocktail was warm not chilled, lobster salad bland and Cosmopolitan had no liquor in it. This is the second time now our bar drinks were terrible! Last time we sent drinks back. Sorry to say but I feel it’s not the same quality anymore.
