RiverMarket Bar & Kitchen
Dark loud essentially ignored food was bad!
Great restaurant but always VERY noisy...they need some sound dampening material...hard to talk to people across the table
The soup appetizer, and diver scallops and roast chicken entrees, were all excellent. We always enjoy our meals at RiverMarket and will return.
Enjoyable dinner with friends. Seated on time, food was very good and generous portions. Unfortunately our waiter became inattentive and fairly rude half way through our meal and one person in our party did not receive his entrée until we flagged down another waiter to check on it. We are polite customers. This was very strange.
Nice atmosphere, service accuracy a big problem. Main entrees delivered before the appetizer, except for one person who’s entree didn’t come, so that was awkward. Appetizer finally came and they comped it but the one meal came very late and should also have been comped. They should have been far more apologetic about the mixup - definitely were not. Ordering felt rushed. Not as good as an experience we should have had for the high price.
What a fantastic addition to Tarrytown's selection of restaurants. The menu selection is vast, the quality of ingredients is outstanding and the atmosphere was vibrant, but you could still talk to the people at your table. The service was "ok" but overall a good night, we would return.
Always have a great experience at RiverMarket! Food is consistently good and they’re very accommodating when we bring our children. One of our favorites!
Typically a great experience. This time around , while the service and environment was amazing , the food was somewhat lackluster. I ordered the lobster salad , which held very little taste and creativity.
Delicious food and our server went out of her way to make the experience memorable.
Wonderful birthday dinner for my hubby. The food was delicious (short ribs were really soft) and the waitress put a candle in the fruit dessert that my husband ordered. Will definitely be back!
Food was excellent, but the service was subpar. We waited around 20 minutes for the waiter to even come as us if we wanted a drink. I would come back for the food, but make sure I'm not in a rush!
I enjoyed going here. It has a positive vibe. The service was great. The brick oven white pizza was delicious. We wanted ravioli, but it wasn’t available. The pasta was delicious. Very extensive wine list The Cabernet was very good. Dessert was so good French Beignets with chocolate and honey dips.
It is right near the Hudson River Walk, which is really beautiful.
Beautiful outdoor patio. Rustic decor. Farm to table fresh food selections.
My prior experience with dinner was excellent, but I was disappointed with the service for brunch. The restaurant did not seem ready for brunch at noon when it opened, we waited 30-45 minutes for the food after ordering, and the staff was not particularly friendly and did not check on us until after the food arrived. My prior experience with dinner was excellent, but would not likely return for brunch.
Very nice upper scale restaurant set by the water in Tarrytown NY.
Food pricey but worth it! Menu is impressive.
Will patronize for a date night again.
It was our first time there but we will definitely be back. Great food, service was good, location was amazing so close to river. Cocktails were great.
We enjoyed our experience. We sat outside. Delicious chicken burger, veggie burger and salad. Nice wine selection.
I had been told that the restaurant was extremely noisy. At 6 PM on a Sunday, not. We had a pleasant meal.
We were enjoying the beautiful weather but were attacked by yellow jackets while eating and were forced to move inside. Seems like they could get that problem under control? As well, the waiter was annoyed that we moved inside and we didn't receive proper service from that point forward.
Ambiance was great but the food was really disappointing. The pairings didn’t seem to make sense. We ordered the duck pizza and was expecting more than over cooked duck on a traditional pizza. It just didn’t seem to be worth the price at all.
We came for my birthday and had a wonderful meal. We shared a wedge salad, smothered in delicious blue cheese dressing. My scallops were large, sweet and yummy. My husband had the quail, which he just loved, together with brussel sprouts and polenta that he described as the best he ever had. We polished off our meal with the incredible Nutella brownie, a huge square of chocolate nirvana. We definitely plan to return here.
Had dinner here with my husband. Food and service were excellent. Interesting menu and nice choice of wine. The restaurant is not very well marked and my GPS did not provide the best directions
Patio first come - first served. No river view. Moderate noise level from nearby train station. Bees and flies a bit annoying. Inside seating abundant and stylish. Good bar size. A bit noisy when crowded. Nice speciality food market as you enter.
I have been to RiverMarket numerous times, and they never disappoint. The whole is always great. I highly recommend the mussels appetizer. The only negative I have was that we went to rather early Saturday dinner (5:30), and the music in the restaurant was way too loud. We couldn't even hear each other talking. But, as usual the service is amazing in this restaurant and the music was lowered with a simple request.
Great food and great service
Lovely place to spend an afternoon or evening on the patio.
Enjoyed eating here for a casual dinner with a friend. The bees outside made us change our table to inside the restaurant which was fine. The food was delicious and came out promptly. Our waiter left us hanging towards the end of the meal, we waited around 25 minutes to get the check, ended up asking another waitress. Wished the end of the meal lived up to the beginning. Would give it another try though.
Met a good friend for lunch. Restaurant is beautiful. Modern ambiance. Waiter was great ! Food was great ! A good time.
Great Evening! We celebrated my husband's birthday and it was a great evening. Service was impeccable, food was great. We sat on the patio which was very nice. We will be back.
The ambiance is great and the food is good but it’s EXTREMELY overpriced. I wouldn’t be as critical of the food if it was priced more appropriately but for $48 the lobster salad better be other worldly and it's not. The portion of short ribs was the smallest I’ve seen and I order short ribs everywhere, also the preparation was the most bland and basic. I wouldn’t normally be disappointed as it was still ok but if it’s the most expensive version I want more than ok. Cocktails are good but also very expensive. I prefer this place for brunch or lunch where I think the prices are more in line with the overall experience. Definitely give it a shot but if you go for dinner be prepared to spend some money if you’re doing apps, entrees and drinks.
Very Slow kitchen
Always a great meal! Nice wine list and creative cocktails! Outdoor seating is a plus!
No bueno ... I made a reservation to possibly sit outside but there were no tables ready outside. I was seated inside in the center of the restaurant and I requested to be seated by one of the windows. The hostess said those tables are reserved and I said I made a reservation. The hostess just looked at me so I sat down. I had to wait 40 minutes for my appetizer. The entree came out lukewarm. I ordered a second glass of wine as I was finishing my appetizer and it came when I finished my entree. My French fries were soaking with greasy oil . I think they need some new managers and more experienced servers.
Frequent this restaurant, this was a rare poor dining experience. Our server, was impatient, got our order wrong, and charged us for the replacement entrée, that he offered for the mistake. Upon several discussions, which he tried to tell us the manager was not available, he brought the correct bill. Instead of a nice meals, outdoors, beautiful night, we left upset.
Our server was attentive and immediately inquired about our beverage choice. We explained we wanted a few minutes and when she returned I ordered a dirty martini and asked about blue cheese olives. She said she would make them! My friend ordered rose’ and was brought a favorite to taste. The cocktail was delicious and the olives, it was obvious through taste and appearance, that they were in fact freshly stuffed! Impressive!
We ordered two different items and explained we wanted to try each other’s. Our server suggested that she would have the kitchen prepare half portions and stagger the delivery so that each would be hot.
We were given all the time we wanted to eat and visit...important because we only see each other once a year. Each year when my friend comes from Arizona we discuss where to go. We have gone to River Market the last three years. After a great lunch we left saying, “Same time, same place, next year”!
Our waiter was extremely hospitable, however the service was notably slow and uneven. I suggest that they use different glasses for sparkling water vs. regular water, as the water servers poured tap water into our sparkling water a couple of times. We sat outside and the deck/patio was quite pleasant.
Food was good and the place has a great location for the summer. Service was slow.
Outstanding food, ambience, and location. Waiter was awesome and very polite. Service was phenomena! I would highly reccommend!!
Can’t beat the ambience. I usually love what’s on the menu, however I found my zucchini pancakes with poached eggs skimpy!
