Located adjacent to the Ralph Lauren Chicago flagship store on Michigan Avenue, RL Restaurant features the vision and décor of Ralph Lauren in a modern club atmosphere.
RL Restaurant offers classic American cuisine inspired by Ralph Lauren’s personal favorites. Seasonal dishes range from a chopped vegetable salad to a lobster roll sandwich, grilled fish of the day and steaks. On the cocktail list, guests can choose from classic drinks and a diverse selection of wines and other fine spirits.

The food is quite good, as always. Some of the service was a little long. It seemed like any request had to go through another person, or two people.
The above said, with outdoor seating only, maybe things are inside and just take a while.

Amazing service, ambiance, food, wine and overall experience.
Chicago has a restriction that you can’t indoors, but RL made sure that every table had a heater and was more than warm. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and they brought out a free desert with a candle - so sweet! Everyone was so friendly and the service was incredible. Food, as always, was amazing.

Dined here for the first time ever, on Saturday Jan. 2nd—celebrated my birthday in advance here, with my aunt, who’s dined here for a long time! Great experience! We had lunch in the well-heated outdoor area! We each had lobster bisque and a chopped salad. My aunt had the lobster roll; I had the RL Burger! All our food was great!! Our server was great too—friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Liked his drink recommendation too (I had the Bugatti coffee-flavored cocktail, which was really good!) I would definitely come back! I do wish the menu had more creative, higher-end, less-mainstream selections (especially if you’re promoting the Ralph Lauren brand’s eclectic, hoity-toity, country club image)—but overall, the food was fresh, flavorful and served quickly and efficiently!! Glad I remembered to dress head-to-toe in Ralph Lauren that day!! :-)

The ambiance of the inside of the restaurant is beautiful, but unfortunately we had to sit outside due to Chicago Covid restrictions. They had heaters, but it was 30 degrees.

RL is doing outdoor pandemic right. Tons of space heaters - we were very warm. Food was fantastic and our server, Aramis, was awesome. I've eaten here before and remember the drinks being great but the food was meh. Not so this time: everything was phenomenal.
It was a great experience. Food was delicious. Only issue was the hostess, I found her to be somewhat rude. She wasn’t very accommodating either. Our server was great though.
Had to wait 25 min for a reservation we arrived on time for, but once we were seated it was fantastic. $34 for a lobster roll seems like a lot but it’s one of the best in the city. RL did the best possible with Covid circumstances and we appreciate it. Will be back soon.
RL never disappoints even during a pandemic. We had an incredible evening and the service and staff cannot be any finer. Food is perfectly prepared. Everything is first class. We love it and continue to go back. They always make our 7 year old feel welcome. You guys are the best!

Such a great experience! We dined outside but did not feel the cold at all, those heaters really work! The staff was very helpful and nice, from the manager, to the server, to the busboys. We had the steak and the lobster rolls - best lobster rolls I’ve had in a long time! The apple pie dessert was very delicious as well! I also recommend the mezcal cocktail, love it!

We had a wonderful anniversary lunch at RL last Sunday. Outdoor dining in December was made warm and cozy with their attention to diners’ needs with an overhead awning and heat lamps well placed between tables. Distancing was appropriate as tables were spaced more than 6 feet apart. The service was outstanding and attentive. The menu had a number of choices, and we had the salmon. Perfect! We look forward to our next visit.

My wife and i have lunch at RL the friday before Christmas every year, this year with indoor dinning shut down in Chicago we knew it was going to be a challenge for RL to deliver a great experience.
But as always, they did not disappoint!!
We ate outdoors on Friday, 12/18 and it was magical! The weather was perfect (no wind) and they had plenty of space heaters to keep everyone cozy. Wait staff was outstanding and friendly. Overall, it was a wonderful lunch and eating outdoors allowed us to continue a Holiday tradition!

Even with heaters it was cold and i had a large quantity of water hit me in the head and go down my neck and back from the umbrella.
Even in such a hard time, and with cold damp weather. RL managed to deliver an elegant and delicious evening as they always do. Kudos to their team.

Even more so, with weather playing along, we enjoyed excellent Lobster Rolls and the perfect protocol RL has in place. Felt very safe.
Food was good! Ambiance is my favorite in the city, especially around the Holidays. The servers were very helpful and kind, but didn't frequent the table enough. Definitely will be back.

I’ve been coming to RL more so since indoor dining is no longer available. Three of the last four times I’ve been, the same hostess continues to tell me, in a less than polite way that they need the table back. I’m well aware of the 90 minute limit and have no problem with it. All three times she’s come to our table, I’ve been waiting for my bill or was waiting on the server to bring my a dessert to go. She’s not aligned at all or in communication with the servers.
The hostess does not reflect the Ralph Lauren brand of high quality service provided by staff at the store or even what the servers provide-Very polite and hard working servers.
