Rocco's Tacos - Brooklyn
Experience guacamole prepared tableside. Sample from 400 varieties of tequila. Order a margarita with a sour mix you’ll taste nowhere else
always good food and a good vibe. highly recommend
We were only offered a high tip even though we had a reservation. Was so loud in there.
Tables too close, we were bumped and pushed from all sides as other guests came and went.
Best homemade chips and fresh guacamole ever! Friendly service, great food. Can’t ask for more.
We like to go to Rocco’s every few months for their amazing Guacamole made table side. This time our server was a little weird but he was still friendly and helpful. The molcajete was delicious and the half order of nachos is more than enough for two people. The drinks were ice cold and refreshing. Still a go-to spot for us :)
Amazing table side guacamole and tacos!
The food is always very good. Service is good but very slow. Don’t go at lunchtime if you are in a rush.
Rocco's is a great Mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa were possibly the best that I've ever had. I enjoyed a nice salad, then the mahi mahi with rice and beans, and then the churros with ice cream for desserts. Everything was delicious and my server Dean was fantastic. This is the perfect restaurant for groups, families or anyone who enjoys Mexican food in a lively setting.
Churros was the best thing on the menu. Tacos never disappoint, I will definitely be back soon.
Food and tacos were all awful. Blackened fish tasted rancid, chicken was okay as was pork belly but all the others tasted frozen and were not worth the high price. Drinks are overpriced and sugary and when ordering specific tequila, it was not served. Service could definitely be improved as well. Feels like an inauthentic chain. Save $100 on tacos and go to a food truck.
The hostess, upon entering, was rude and pushy. She seemed very agitated that we booked a reservation on open table before coming in. The food was sub-par and not edible in for one of the four of us. Even worse, the resulting indigestion stuck with us for 24 hours.
To make matters worse, I requested ‘NO SALT’ on my margarita glass (diet restriction). The rim was doused in salt 1/4” deep that dissolved in my beverage. I tasted to confirm and couldn’t tolerate. When I asked the server to remake as I had originally requested, she agreed that it was in error and proceeded to the bar. I watched the bartender dump the drink in the blender, add more ice and pour it into a fresh glass.
Needless to say, I called it out, along with the lack of concern for the customer’s well-being. A trifecta of bad experiences...
Overall my experience was very good! The food and drinks were delicious!
Highly disappointed - I’ve heard from so many friends that Rocco’s tacos is incredible, so I had high expectations. I made reservations long in advance to be sure to have a table especially since we were in a rush. The restaurant was barely half full and the hostess told us we would have to wait a little while for our server. A half hour passed before we even received drinks. Then another 20 minutes until the waitress came by to check on us. Our waitress was running all over so busy yet there were 5 waiters standing around doing nothing?? The bartender wasn’t doing anything either and we still didn’t receive our drink order?? When the waitress finally came to clear garbage off our table, we had to ask to place our order. When I very kindly and politely said we’re in a little bit of a rush so if the kitchen could place our order immediately that would be great, the waitress passive aggressively said the kitchen prepares food so it will take a while. (Huh??) When the food arrived, I have to say I was disappointed. Not very flavorful, and the meat was very dry. Expensive prices for quality, even for NYC...
The waiter was awesome but it was nothing like I expected. Burrito Bar all the way for me.
Excellent drinks and guacamole followed by tasty quesadilla. Chill place.
Food was pretty good although i was disappointing with the guacamole which wasn't prepared table side because we sat outside, and it didn't seem fresh.
Honestly, I was really looking forward to coming here, but from the moment I got there, the hostess was as cold and anti-social as they come because I was there a little earlier than my actual reservation time but yet there was definitely enough seating still available within a 25 minute window of my actual reservation time...drinks were definitely the best part of the evening!!...and the last but not least the waitress we had was pretty rude and bothered initially because we brought over the bowl of chips and guacamole with drinks and voiced her displeasure to one of her co workers literally 1 table away from our table!! In any case, this is the last time I’ll be coming here even if it was the only restaurant open in a 5 mile radius...I had a better experience in a Taco Bell drive thru in Queens minus the drinks!
Service was a bit slow. One guy taking orders for 5 tables or more. Bottomless mimosas, I only had 4 drinks because server was not around. They should give people a pitcher instead of waiting for a glass every hour. Also, appetizer came at the same time as the meal. Ordered something for my daughter and was told an hour later that they didn’t have it.
The food was good and so were the drinks. The service was ok but I felt rushed. Word of advice..let people eat in peace. Ask if everything is ok and go away until needed.
Ottimo ristorante messicano . Tutto molto buono , consiglio il guacamole , lo preparano davanti al tavolo fresco . Prezzi nella media , ambiente molto bello accogliente. Servizio molto gentile e veloci .
Very slow service, food was decent, ambience and decor is amazing!
I wanted to like this place, but it consistently not good. Dry, flavorless, food with friendly service, but not worth the price. It is an expensive disappointment.
We reserved a table so we’d have one after work. We got to the restaurant on time and they put us outside while it was drizzling and hot and humid out. We wanted to be inside, but they said the open table reservation didn’t mean we’d be inside. Very disappointed.
Awesome food, drinks & a pretty atmosphere (and clean)
Hair on the limes that came with my tequila flight. Tableside guacamole was made - then we had to wait about 15 minutes for them to bring chips over. No napkins at table then we were brought one cocktail napkin. Also waited about 20 minutes for 2 margaritas. Was really looking forward to this dinner but I will never go back.
Great atmosphere and service. Staff was friendly and watermelon Rita was delicious
Great food and atmosphere the waiter wasn’t always attentive but still good
We arrived at 1 pm by 1:50 our food was no where to be found so we notified our waitress we needed to leave and we were just going to pay for our drinks.
After we paid and we were getting ready to leave the wait staff brings our food and ask if we still want it. We were like sure we guess. Shortly after she brings the to go boxes the manager come to us with a bill for the food and said
"sorry for the wait I took 50% off the bill"
At which point we all kind of laughed, left the food and walked away disgusted. How dare you request payment for late, cold food? Especially that you are going to have to throw out anyways?
Guacamole was real good, but everything else was pretty terrible. Tortillas with the enchiladas were stale and chewy. Also my wife’s vegetarian enchilada had pieces of steak in it which she ate by accident. They were kind enough to take it off our bill though. Way overpriced for what they have to offer.
Absolutely loved it here. Food was great, service was even greater. I loved the drinks and the fact that the guacamole is made right at your table. Great atmosphere, definitely coming back!
as always good value 4 ur money
Excellent value for Brooklyn and large portions. Yummy Mexican!
I use to lovvvveee this place and come a lot with my classmates and friends after my grad classes 3 years ago but they took so many things that I use to love off the menu. The server was GREAT but food was okay. They use to make the guacamole in front of you and they didn’t that day. They don’t have the prickly pear Margarita and they don’t have the quesadilla with plantains and shrimp which was my favorite. Still very clean and the staff was nice but definitely not the same. Thanx anyway.
Food was fresh & tasty! Service was excellent! I will be back!
This was my 2nd time dinning at Rocco’s Tacos and as with the 1st time I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The ambiance and relics gives the place a very authentic feeling. Took some pics of some awesome Mexican art.
Will definitely be back again 🙂
The venue looks beautiful. The service was amazing. But the food was not great tacos. I was not a fan. Did not taste fresh.
The service was incredibly disorganized. We spent 30 minutes waiting for cups just to drink water and utensils. AND Our appetizers arrived after we finished our entrees.
Too noisy — can’t hear yourself think let alone converse with your lunch companions. Everything seemed too hard for the waiter to deliver — his excuse: the kitchen is crazy today! The food is too pricey for small mediocre portions.
Service was not warm and welcoming. You would expect a bar/restaurant to be a little more customer-centric and several staff members when trying to be seated were not that at all. However, my waiter was great! Went above and beyond. Food was also very good overall.
Side note, be careful with reservations... according to their GM, “we only accept Opentable reservations made a day in advance...” (even though they had tables available at every 15 minute slot). I am going to guess that was made up and/or they don’t know how to work with a helpful reservation app.
The food was amazing and the staff is excellent. No disappointments
Sangria could have had alcohol but other than that everything else was good.
