RockCreek Seafood & Spirits
Our menu centers around globally sourced seafood from well managed fisheries; with offerings of local Northwest familiars like crab, oysters and mussels, to more tropical fish like Kona Kampachi or Hawaiian Ono, and East Coast staples like Striped Bass. Our preparations emphasize fresh ingredients that arrive daily, and pronounced flavors from around the world.
Our urban-industrial two-story ‘fishing lodge’ was built with local and reclaimed resources by Dovetail Construction and Marian Built. Our tables were crafted from bark-beetle pine, and we even found a home for our favorite re-purposed farm equipment! Our space includes the main dining area, our killer bar, a large modern patio and an upstairs loft and private dining room.
Food was outstanding! Nice neighborhood restaurant 👍
I tend to dislike traditional seafood places, that are all about giant baskets of bread and bowls of chowder and seafood from who knows where. Wanted to try something different with a focus on quality, freshness and updated presentation. RockCreek hit it out of the park. Everything from opening drinks to dessert was excellent, and the rockfish in the "cioppino" was some of the best fish I've had.
It was very busy and waited a short while for our table. The food was good. My sea bass was great. The main issue was time. We waited at least 45 minutes between our appetizers and our entrees. However, they knew it was a problem, apologized, and took some off the check. On top of that, our server put a much larger piece of bread in our “doggie” bag to replace the tiny slices we had asked her to pack up for home then she had dropped. That was great.
Bottoms line: the kitchen was slow and management made an effort to mitigate that. They clearly value their customers and want return business. I know we will be back.
Our server was fantastic and menu choices are excellent. We split a couple of small plates...Caesar salad and grilled octopus were great. My wife had the sea bass and it was fabulous...pricey at $35. I had the lamb ragu with smoked bacon and radiatori pasta. Disappointed with that dish. Smoked bacon drowned out the lamb...could hardly detect any lamb and it just didn’t taste very good.
my favorite restaurant food, service, environment consistently superb. thanks so much!!
Without a doubt the best meal I’ve had in years!!!!
We have dined here before and keep coming back; Rock Creek just keeps getting better. Service was very attentive and fully explained the dishes we had questions on. The ricotta gnocchi was outstanding as was the Arctic char and roasted Bronzino. The s’more dessert was one of the best I have ever had!
Has become one of my favorites in Seattle. Love the menu and also love the execution of the dishes. A wonderful combination of down home nd sophistication. So far, no disappointments
Amazing seafood! We did Kari out in a box, shrimp and grits, Chilean sea bass ( to die for), scallops, and shared a Key lime pie pudding thingie!
Come here by taxi every time we are in Seattle. I need to use the elevator with my walker. Young lady (I’m 72), did a great job working with me when elevator did not cooperate. She should get a bonus.
Great place to bring folks from out of town. Always great experience!
Food is excellent. Service once seated very good. DO NOT go if you are by self to just two people. We we a party off two celebrating a birthday. They knew that via Open Table.
It was like a fight to the bitter end to get a decent table BECAUSE there are no decent tables for parties of two. The ones they have are squished together so you WILL become a party of four with strangers whether you like it or not.
The place was almost empty (5 pm) and the upstairs completely empty, but still had to fight for a decent table.
Bad way to start a dinner -- but the food (Chilean Sea Bass) was excellent.
Nice dinner with friends. Better like seafood if you come here, menu full of choices from the sea.
Had octopus, mussels, sea bass (very plain), and sturgeon.
Wine corkage is $30 so a bit steep to bring your own.
The only bad thing was the hostess. She was definitely annoyed to be at her job that day. But everything else was great. And she food was amazing. Makes me want to go back to Seattle just to have dinner here.
Our server seemed like she didn’t truly care that we had a good brunch experience. Check backs were infrequent, we had to ask repeatedly for things we needed, and the orders were written down wrong. I usually have the best service here but this experience was sub par at best.
Service was fantastic. I've been seated in the upstairs before and felt like the service took more time, but this time it was great. I had two guests from out of town, and one who had never really experienced seafood before, so we tried multiple dishes. We had the brock-a-feller (sp) oysters, manilla clams, and octopus to share as starters and each dish was very well prepared and not overcooked. For our main course we shared the seafood stew, sourdough bread, and SeaBass. All courses were uniquely different and flavorful.
The hostess was friendly and very energetic, hustling to get guests seated in timely matter. She also got drinks for guests while waiting beside moving quickly between the two floors and help setting table. All the staffs were in sync and working together to accommodate the guests. The food is excellent and tasty fresh seafood items. We would recommend friends to dine there. Overall, it was one of the best dining experience for a late Valentine’s Day dinner to us.
We love going to FlintCreek, the sister restaurant, and decided to try RockCreek. I prefer FlintCreek. The parking is better and the space is bigger. RockCreek food was fantastic, everything was tasty. I think $36.00 for 3 scallops is asking a bit much. We'd probably go back if it was closer to us. It was fun to try new place and I would recommend it, With Reservations! We got there at 5 on a Sunday, by 6 they were turning people away at the door.
Top 5 seafood in Seattle. Enough said
Very overpriced especially for the amount of food that you get.
The food was excellent. We shared the octopus, oysters rockafeller, rockfish soup, and blackened ono. We love coming here and to their sister restaurant Flint Creek!
We have not been to Rock Creek for sometime, but had a great meal, and dining experience the other day. Service was great and friendly without being imposing. The ambiance is lively and can be loud when you first walk in, but somehow not overwhelming after you settle in.
And not the restaurants fault, but another patron was wearing overwhelmingly strong perfume. I never u defat and why people will do such as it is distracting and messes with the taste buds !
But a restaurant can not control everything.
The things RockCreek does control are wonderful!
Sorry to see that the place is getting worse. Too much sauce can’t hide the underlying problems with basics preparation. Unavailable almost half of the menu at 8:00 am on a Saturday. Not replacing cutlery before entree(and asking to place the used fork and knife directly on the table) seems like is getting this once promising place into the typical overpriced chain restaurant.
Our server was attentive to our every need and she was very nice! The food came out fast and it was amazing ☺️
very good food
This is my second time visiting. Love your food! You seriously need an espresso machine. After brunch, our two guests went to cafe across the street to get espressos.
Rockcreek is hands down the best place in Seattle for seafood.
Food was interesting and delicious, fun to share small plates and try different things, fantastic cocktails, service was perfect. Hefty bill. Well worth it. The Shigoku oysters we had are now my official favorite of a lifetime.
Every time we eat here we consider it one of the best meals of our lives. "This is amazing!" or "Can I have the last bite?" or "I'm having a food moment." exclaimed multiple times per sitting. It's a great spot for all occasions, but especially date night or bringing visitors. Highly recommend sharing plates. Some of the best, inventive seafood dishes in Seattle, not to mention fantastic cocktails. Save room for dessert!
Service was attentive and the food was beautifully presented and very good. I had the gnocchi that was very good. Also got one bite of the octopus! Needless to say, there was minimal sharing!
Creative dishes, great quality fish, delicious cocktails, and knowledgeable staff. Also loved the decor. My only complaint is that we were seated on the first floor and got a big wave of cold air every time someone came in or out - I will definitely plan to go back but next time would request the upstairs in cold weather, unless they put up a curtain in the entryway.
Overall outstanding; food, service, ambiance!! Can’t wait to come back.
Also a special thank you to the amazing staff for accommodating us due to some last minute changes with our reservation. Highly recommend!
Open concept, post and beam architecture with few soft surfaces means noise abounds here and when the door opens a chill runs through the restaurant, yet it's comfortable environment, great food and excellent service more than make up for this. For someone who is a seafood eating "vegan", this place offers many choices and I'll be back.
Nice anniversary spot or any special occasion
My favorite restaurant in Seattle.
Great service as always and outstanding food.
Everything was great, the scallops were outstanding!
Poached eggs were dry and overcooked. Heavily seasoned with too much salt. Waiter was not to be found until he asked for the check. Explained the issues and absolutely nothing done. Not even an apology.
Sunday brunch was everything it should be! The Benedicts were delicious and light. The Cinnamon Roll was glutinously large with delicious orangey cream cheese icing. Take friends and enjoy!
This quickly became a favorite when we lived in the neighborhood, and remains our favorite restaurant in Seattle. The food is always delicious, and incredibly reasonable given the high quality and being in Seattle. The small plates are the perfect size for smaller stomachs, or share a few.
This was our second time here and the food was quite good and the drinks excellent. The only negatives were that the server was a bit brusque (and not very attentive) and the noise was so loud that conversation was difficult.
Outstanding foodie experience. We shared a couple of small plates to start - tuna tartare and chargrilled octopus - both were wonderful. For entrees my husband and son ate fish and I had a beautiful Caesar salad. Everything was extremely tasty and the service was impeccable. We will return!
