ROKA - Aldwych
First time eating here on a Sunday evening. Won’t be doing it again. Restaurant only offering a £50 (pp incl tip) set menu, of what seemed like left overs from the last couple of days (eg potato salad). If this is all they are prepared to offer, they shouldn’t bother opening, it has a detrimental impact on an otherwise great brand.
Fantastic attentive service, and wonderful fresh tasty food
Excellent food and the team is great.
Very very slow service...
party of four; some ate at 8 some ate at 9:30... forgot to bring the wine... kept forgetting to bring food and drink... ice cream took 1 hour from order to table...
Pre theatre menu was excellent and pretty good value for money. Happy Hour between 5-7 too!
Very good service from our waiter and when we complained about he size of the salmon sashimi, they promptly brought another portion no extra charge. Overall the food was very tasty but portion sizes were smaller than the Canary wharf branch we went to the previous week.
Table was given to us 30 mins late despite us saying had theatre booking. Answer was couldn’t get rid of the unlimited brunch people..... poor reception people were let down by management. Eventually given table by bar which meant no service. Took four requests to get water....
Desserts - we were warned off those taking ten minutes due to our time pressures. The cold desserts we chose then took over ten anyway....
Shame as food is good
Incredible ingredients, although this time due to being very busy the confection of the food was not as good as usual
Ok but the bill has an optional 13.5% service charge which I had to ask to be removed
Amazing food as always.
Brilliant experience - all the food was lovely. Especially enjoyed the crispy chicken & mushroom hot pot. Will be back again soon
Overall the food was great and the staff very friendly. The only negative was that we got a table which was at at the very end of the hall so the noise was quite high.
We had a really wonderful meal here. Even though we only had the pre-theatre menu the service was excellent and there was no sense of being unduly rushed. Staff were also very careful with allergies and able to offer advice.
We celebrated my birthday at Roka Aldwych last night. I woke up remembering the delicious food! The back cod and the spinach leaves with a sesame dressing stood out in particular but it was all amazing. The service was lovely too: thank you Lole!
Visited different Roka sites so was always going to be a request of my partner for her Birthday. Once again the restaurant did not disappoint, it also gained rave reviews from another couple that joined us to celebrate.
Will be back again and again and again l, may as well give me a loyalty card now.
PS the Korean Lamb chops are to die for.
Great food, and quality service, I will definitely return to ROKA
Too noisy and the food quality varies. Signature dishes are okay and won’t recommend on robata ones.
Very nice and comfortable environment perfect for business dinners. The food is very tasty nicely presented and the service is st very high level.
Always one of my favourite restaurants in London with delicious food! I love it here! Have the yellowtail sashimi with yuzu truffle dressing and the Korean spices land cutlets!
Excelent food and service
Absolutely delightful as always.
Nice food & nice service👍 Would recommend for Japanese cuisine lovers
We had great time at ROKA for our anniversary dinner, the food was amazing and we got a quiet table in the corner. However, service could be improved. Although everybody was very polite and courteous, we didn't hear any recommendations regarding the menu (and we hoped to since it was our first visit), the menus were taken away from us before we even finished our order, and we had to ask twice for servers to take our drinks orders throughout the evening
Great food but a little noisy. Excellent service.
Been there few years ago, the food was amazing. This time the food was good but not excellent. Every dish came too quick, especially the hot food, end up eating it cold. Feels like they are rushing to get rid of us. Otherwise a good
place to dine.
Great service as always - even if they did forgot two dishes!
We had a fabulous brunch. Free flowing Prosecco way beyond our time limit.
A great place to go.
The food quality doesn’t match their price.
The place is too noisy. Can’t talk or relax.
Excellent service and food .. GM Lowry was outstanding with us
As always, fantastic!
Worst Roka I’ve ever been..
Service is terrible! They forget you .. ignore you. Drinks we had to ask 3 times.
Foodwise so so borderline Roka quality. Super noisy restaurant which is not their fault yet it is s small place unlike Mayfair or Canary Wharf..
Great restaurant, service. and superb food.
Solid, reliable quality across all of the locations I've been to is upheld by this venue. Roku offers an approachable, diverse menu with both raw and cooked dishes that are a cut above in quity and creativity compared with any other sushi chain in the city.
Fantastic food with great service. Was a lovely meal out
Amazing vegetarian/ vegan food. Favourite place to dine especially pre-theatre!
I will be back definitely I’m going to have to make it my regular place of eat
The black cod was good though other dishes were very mediocre.
Sushis and tartars are amazing
I recommend also the dumplings and grilled king prawns and for dessert the yogurt and almond cake!!
Scallops are overpriced (we thought it was £8.70 per skewer of 2 or 3 scallops but it is actually £8.70 per scallop)
Not as great as Roka Mayfair. Good food but way too noisy and the service is disorganized.
