Roka Canary Wharf
While Roka wouldn’t be my every week choice of venue if you are looking to splash out then you could certainly do far worse.
Don’t let the set menu system put you off, staff are always eager and willing to explain things to those who look a little lost. While the £59 per person set menu I went for wasn’t cheap, it was the best £59 I’ve spent in a long time. I highly recommend the chicken stew. It’s really to die for. Our waiter said that two would be two much for two people, suggesting a lighter main to accompany. But really, I could have polished off both. And not eaten for the rest of the day. But that too would have been worth it.
Roka, at Canary Wharf anyway, doesn’t skimp on portions. Or on the starter buffet you can hit up as often as you like. I’d recommend you save room for dessert though. Really I do. Even if you don’t there will be enough wine flowing to ease the conversation until you can manage some more. On the whole, a great dining experience.
Our host was very helpful and attentive. Suggested nice options.
Lovely dinner and cocktails
We brought our baby and her grandparents to Roka for the weekend brunch to celebrate granny’s birthday. We had a wonderful time, the staff were very attentive, especially Mehdi, who saw that we had a baby and constantly checked in to make sure we were comfortable. Our baby really enjoyed playing in the children’s area too (which gave us a few moments of peace) and we would highly recommend the restaurant for families with infants / toddlers - do ask for a table in the lounge though as the main restaurant can be quite busy at the weekend. The selection of starters was also amazing and the entire table (including the baby!) was very happy with the food. We will be back!
We absolutely love Roka! A great night every time.
The service by our waiter Pawel was exceptional. He was so attentive and was always looking after me and my friends. We thoroughly enjoyed are evening and the service topped everything
Fantastic food, great wines/cocktails, excellent service, great atmosphere (Canary Wharf Chic!) and a lovely addition to our dessert as I had mentioned it was our anniversary. I have going at least annually for over 10years now - I love the place and will of course be back! Nice to see some of the same staff there by the way - must be a nice place to work as well. Anyway, keep it up guys!
Good efficient service nice clientele and lovely woman would definitely go again!!
Excellent value and my date loved it! The food is amazing and the staff really looked after us.
The service wasn’t great on Monday. We spent almost 3 hours dining at Roka with very poor service from the team. Furthermore the manager promised to come back to me by email, today is Wednesday and I haven’t heard anything back. We were waiting for the bill for over 20 minutes, questioned the sommelier, who asked if we want some more wine instead of bringing the bill. NB we had sake and cocktails that night, no wine...
Second time attending Roka and wasn’t disappointed. It’s a dream to dine here.
Amazing everything but its quite noisy
Impressive food and fantastic service here.
Dessert is beautiful and tasty, but for me is toooo sweet 👌
I couldn’t be more happy with my choice.
Everything in terms of food and service was good and as you would expect. What I wouldn’t expect is having been sent booking terms yesterday saying I had the table for 2 hours I received a text this morning to say I had it for 1.5 hours. I called to question this and was told quite forcefully that this was normal for lunch and after checking I was told I could have 1.45 minutes . It wasn’t intended to be a long lunch but while it may not be the norm many lunch meetings exceed 1.5 hours . Unsurprisingly we were still there at 3 pm at which time the restaurant was completely deserted . I’m sure there is some reason for this policy other than the phenomenal popularity of mid afternoon lunching but this experience will no doubt affect my future consideration of Roka .
Abundance of excellent food and drink. Highly recommend the baby back ribs. Service was generally ok, although a couple of waiting staff kept trying to serve us starters even though we had clearly moved on to other courses.
Great value for money.
The restaurant was busy as usual, had a very attentive waiter who serviced us throughout. Food was outstanding especially the beef rump and black cod! A happy couple with content bellies 😁
Went for a friend’s birthday. Staff were nice, service and food also good
Exellent lunch menu
Service was slow and unorganized. Serving wrong food to our table and mixing up orders. Quality of the food wasn’t what I’m just to have a Roka. Hopefully next time it’s much better
Another wonderful meal at Roka Canary Wharf. A firm favourite in our house. Great dishes and drinks.
The Roka brunch is always lovely - the food great quality and the service very good. Some of the other diners were extremely loud which made it hard to have a conversation at our table.
Lovely food, although worth being aware that lunchtime (at least on a Saturday) is set menu only. That said, wonderful food and wonderful service. I have been before and will go back again.
We had a lovely brunch celebrating my partners birthday our waiter was fabulous we enjoyed every minute
Delicious set lunch menu.
Excellent food and service. What’s not to like? Thanks
Roka Canary Wharf is always a great experience. We usually choose their seasonal meny and have never been disappointed. Furthermore, the selection of wine is very good.
I’ve been to Roka many times before the service has always been good but this time I booked for dinner for my sister’s birthday and had a reservation for 6.30. We see on the menu that it was happy hour on cocktails but had to order at the bar so we ordered a round of drinks and brought it over to our table. When we went up to get another round in the waiters refused it as we had to drink it at the bar and was told we couldn’t bring it back to our table.
During dinner one of the waiters was clearing up some plates and spilt food over my sister’s bag so they offered us a round of drinks for free
My sister had to leave early so I asked the waiter to bring out a dessert plate out ASAP so we could sing happy birthday to her but they didn’t bring it out on time and she had left by the time they brought it out.
Great food, good service. A bit pricey though.
Too noisy, but good food
Roka brunch on Sundays is just the best! I’ve been going there for years and always enjoy the service, food and atmosphere. My favourite place to be at the weekend when I’m in London.
Amazing food , great staff will definitely be back again , black cod dumplings are to die for
Service not as good as the last times I have been which is a shame. Were told they needed the table back before the allocated time we were given and kept having to ask for refills of drinks.
Delicious food,lovely ambiance .
Brilliant experience. Love this place and particularly the black cod!
We went to the Sunday Brunch at Roka for my son's 10th birthday treat. The food was fantastic, the service was very attentive and I was thrilled to see both my children trying new foods. The buffet would have been more than sufficient but the main courses were delicious too. The crowning glory was the chocolate iced leaf wishing my son a happy birthday!
The server made quite a few mistakes taking the orders. The lady who is in charge of the cloak room didn't show a single hint of welcoming.
Lovely afternoon lunch with friends.
Food was excellent, the ribs & chicken dumplings were delicious.
Service was good, even though the restaurant was extremely busy.
Slightly let down at the end, was rushed off the table before our time was up because the next booking had arrived,
