I knew it would be nice , but I did not anticipate quite how sensational the food and wine options would be. This was one of my favourite meals and restaurants. Blown away. First class from the moment I entered the place to the moment we left.
We had 3 starters, 2 mains , desert, loads of cocktails and a bottle of wine and that came to just over £200 including tip.
Very good value for money
Amazing evening the service was excellent and made the experience extra special.
Although the food was nice, it took a long time for our order to be taken. The waiter serving our table also got the drinks orders wrong and it took 30 minutes for water to be brought to the table after asking twice.
The food was great, the service could have been a lot better. We understood that it was a Saturday night and it was busy but the things that let the service down were basics.
Lovely evening, food amazing and professional attentive staff. Would like to see a few more vegetarian options but would book again.
Great place to eat ! Loved the decor and all the staff were freindly. Food was excellent and well presented.
Really lovely food. Good value lunch menu and lovely staff. In a beautiful building too.
Excellent 5 th time back atmosphere excellent and staff and food amazing . We used to go to San Carlos and found them rude and just wanted your money and out , Rosso is my fav restaurant in Manchester we def will be coming back
Was our 28th anniv and we wanted do something diff get away from being mum and dad
Had a lovely lunch with my client. Food was excellent and friendly attentive staff.
Spent £750 so has be very good lol
Overall was nice
I’ve been to Rosso on a number of occasions and been impressed by the food however this time it really felt (and tasted) like style over substance...
The food seemed unnecessarily complicated and definitely a world away from simple but incredibly tasty Italian food...good quality ingredients don’t need to be over processed and covered in sauces, you need to be able to taste the lemon sole or cod as the star or the dish!
The setting is wonderful, and the service charmingly Italian but the food has been overly bastardised and anglicised...please strip it back and go back to the genuine Italian food you used to serve!
Is the 5th time I’ve been to rosso, each time the service has been absolutely fabolous but the food seems to be going a little down hill each time. I do think since the renovation the place has lost its touch a little bit. Great service but mediocre food. Such a shame really
We love rossos but unfortunately on this occasion the food was very mixed. My cod dish was excellent but unfortunately the lamb for my partner was grissly and frankly inedible. That was a real shame as it was her birthday.
The staff as always were very friendly but the evening on this occasion was somewhat spoilt
It won’t stop us from going back, but it’s the first time the food hasn’t been up to standard
Excellent food. Beautiful decor whilst relaxed atmosphere staff very friendly and polite. Had a lovely time with my friend
Very busy and noisy restaurant. Make sure you check the bill before paying. We were charged twice for one bottle of wine.
Still a good restaurant but just off the pace this visit we felt rushed
The tables for 2 are too close together when I visited in March it was fantastic and tables were spacious but this weekend I felt like I was having lunch with 4 other people.
Although it’s pricey, you get a lot in return. Large portions, fast service, quality food & drink and a lovely setting.
I’ve had mixed experiences at Rosso previously but when we dined on Sunday it was lovely. The service was fabulous, our waitress was really lovely, polite, friendly and helpful, and the couple of other waiters who popped over to pour wine / water & check on us were really pleasant too. The food was really good and the £25 Sunday 3 course menu plus £9.95 for wine was good value. There were a few vegan options for me and the omnivores with me had lots of choice.
The restaurant has always been a beautiful setting but I’d avoided for a couple of years due to bad service and average food, so pleased that they now seem to be getting it so right. Will be back soon, fingers crossed it’s just as good. Xx
pleasant ambience, good food, pleasant staff, delightful surroundings
Four of us dined there Saturday the food was delicious, service good, this is the third time I have eaten there my husband has eaten there 5 times it is consistently good, a lovely place. Would recommend it for a casual meal or a special occasion
Great atmosphere, energetic staff that are eager to please. Fantastic
Fantastic afternoon. Really enjoyed the lunch menu and wine. Food was gorgeous, cocktails gorgeous, great service and helpful staff and That’s why it’s my favourite restaurant!
Setting was beautiful and it is a very modern design, excellent service, excellent food and would highly eecommend it
Great dining room, great vibe, white leather is looking a bit worn but the rest was excellent.
Been here a few times and i walk away happy with whole experience.
First time there and really liked it.
Great venue and good food.
Made my 21st birthday very special! Great tasting food, friendly waiters who provided a great and efficient service. Would definitely come back again for another special occasion. Amazing! Thank you so much.
We went to Rosso to celebrate my wife's birthday, and ate off the lunch menu. The food was first class, and we were very well looked after by a great waiter.
The food was expensive and average.
I appreciate it was a Monday night when i went but the restaurant had no atmosphere. It felt cold and uninviting. An Italian restaurant should be warm friendly and inviting.
I have had far better tasting Italian food And paid a lot less for it.
I was underwhelmed
Absolutely loved it, the steak was cooked to perfection, staff were great, restaurant looks great inside and out.
A warm welcome with good service throughout.
Great choice of food and all presented well.
Everything was great when we sat down at the table and the staff and food in the dining area were excellent. The food was delicious and the decor lovely.
Only 2 things let the place down. The bar was very busy with staff paying no attention whatsoever to serving people in order of wait time. In fact, we didn’t get a drink until we sat down it took that long to be served.
The other was that the hostess very kindly ordered us a taxi. She came to the table to say it was outside at which point we came directly out, only to have an extremely rude doorman tell us it wasn’t our taxi and order us out of it, demanding to know who told us it was for us. Now this is not a drunk recollection as I am pregnant so was obviously stone cold sober. His manner and behaviour really put a dampner on the whole experience, as food is my only pleasure at the moment!
My Birthday meal with husband and daughter , love this place. Great food and service. “The best pornstar Martinis in Manchester”. Will return once I’ve saved up again
We ate here for a 30th birthday meal on saturday and had the most awful seats! We were seated on the raised level next to the stairs meaning we had constant traffic moving past us coupled with over hearing the waiters conversations as they were congratged around the till. It was such a shame as the waiter, food and restaurant were beautiful.
Beautiful interior, welcoming front of house and we were seated to our table early which was good as the bar was really busy and I had a 6 year old in tow.
The lunch special menu seemed really good value at £16.95 but I was a bit confused as the corn fed chicken that I ordered didn't come with any veg - just a piece of chicken and Mushroom sauce. Not sure if I was supposed to order veg separately but no one told me that.
Everyone else really enjoyed their meals and the little one had lots of choice on the kids menu.
I would go back but scrutinise the menu a bit closer.
Another fantastic meal, fabulous food and great service 👍
Great place, fab atmosphere, excellent food, attentive staff.
The best fine dining restaurant in Manchester. Outstanding!
Lovely meal, served by extremely attentive staff, in very smart surroundings. The 2-course lunch offer for £16.95 is excellent value and particularly as it extends to 6.00 pm on week nights. Similarly the wine offer which allows you to buy a bottle for £9.95! Would definitely recommend!
