A few facts about our visit on 1/9/2021: 1. We waited for 5 minutes to be checked in. 2. When the hostess showed up she seated another couple that was behind us in line first and gave them a better table. 3. We told the hostess that we were actually first in line. She didn't react at all. Didn't even apologise. 4. We asked to turn on the heater and they said they're out of gas tanks. It was only 6:15 pm and they were already out of propane tanks... 5. The valet parking guy told us they accept cash only, no credit cards, which is weird nowadays. Overall, very poor service for a place that positions itself quite upscale. The food is good, but not better than other Italian restaurants that are less pretentious and have much better service. The pasta is good, but Rumari and Antonello’s are no worse. They call their garlic bread a signature, but the garlic toast in Quiet Woman, another CDM restaurant, is better. They have full bar but they struggled to make me a sazerac on my previous visit in late 2020, I had to show them an online recipe and they made it too sweet using way too much sugar... If you go to Five Crowns next door, cocktails are way better, as well as charcuterie board. Literally NOTHING special about this restaurant except for remarkably poor service.

So romantic- we felt so safe and warm on the patio. The food was amazing. The Oreo ice cream cake was a delicious birthday surprise too. Thanks Paul!

we ordered the charcuterie pate and the short ribs. Both were excellent. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, and the ambiance was just mellow and nice. It is always this way, and has been for the many years this restaurant has been in operation.

Due to covid, we had to sit outside and it was cold-but that was our choice to go.
However, some of the outside seating is on the sidewalk which was not ideal.

We just wanted to try a new restaurant and we are so happy we tried this one! What a gem! The shrimp appetizer was delicious and will definitely be a go to in the future! The manager was fantastic and got us a great table even though we missed our reservation time! Noise level was just right too!

Rothchilds was a fabulous place to celebrate our 24th anniversary! Great service, food and ambiance. Our waitress was lovely. Thank you for making our Covid anniversary special!!

We made the reservation through Open Table. When we got there we were treated in a courtesy manner and seated promptly. With the tables spread out a little more than usual the ambiance was delightful. We ordered the Garlic bread and Caesar salad, both were very tasty. We order the special Veal Medallions with lingonberry sauce. The meal was excellent. Such a large main course, no dessert.

Fantastic atmosphere, warm and welcoming, the service was wonderful.

Wonderful service and great food. We surprised my daughter for her 25th birthday, and the waitstaff worked with us to make it such a special experience for her. The food and drinks were wonderful. Shrimp Scampi, Lobster Ravioli and Chicken Alfredo were incredible. They even had a few options for my daughter's boyfriend who is vegan and has to eat gluten free. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling in the Irvine/Newport Beach/Corona Del Mar areas. We will be back, even though we live in Dallas, TX!

Music may have gotten a bit loud, but it was fun.

Being from Los Angeles, where every restaurant is closed, we ventured to Orange County.
I wish this restaurant was in Los Angeles. After COVID I would be there at least once a week.
The service was outstanding. The lobster ravioli and pistachio fettuccine, so good I could eat the same every day.
We ate outside and even my dog loved the ambiance.

Everything was great except for it was extremely crowded and there was no social distancing going on especially inside where the bar and dining room were located!! We dined outside but when I had to go inside to use the bathroom I couldn’t believe the amount of people??? I didn’t feel safe...😩😱😩

Service was excellent - polite, professional and attentive. Food was barely warm and didn't meet the hype but could of just been us and the evening.

This is the place to be during the Covid partial lockdown. Plenty of outdoor tables. It’s a lively and hip crowd even though outdoors.
