Good quality food, fine and quite sophisticated, with matching simple wines. A glimpse of a Michelin star.
We had a lovely valentines dinner. The tasting menu was excellent with the paired wines. The bonus was that Michel Roux appeared and gave my wife a red rose. Result!
Outstanding food and service. The best meal I have EVER had out with my wife!
Being in London is a must you can not miss. A place where all the senses are stimulated.
Absolutely lovely menu for Valentines day. The service was great and the place has a lovely homely atmosphere. Price wise it is not cheap but is very reasonably priced given the high quality of food you get here. Would definitely go again.
Excellent! Did not disappoint in the slightest. Went for delicious valentines tasting menu. Michel Roux even came out to gove all the ladies a red rose. Really recommend.
We went for Valentine's Day dinner. 6 course treating menu was simply divine, accompanied by a very nice bottle of champagne. Service was impeccable as ever and the price was incredibly inexpensive. The evening was made even more special because Chef (yes, THE Chef) bright a rose to each table and had a quick chat with us.
Exceptional quality food was just devine
Great food - I mean, really great food - in a perfect ambience, with attentive and friendly serving staff. Great for a relaxed and intimate special celebratory meal, which is what we were enjoying. I guess it would be great for any occasion, if you afford to dine there more regularly. But it's the sort of place you go for something special and are not disappointed. You really do get what you pay for, on all fronts.
A thoroughly underwhelming experience at the Roux at Parliament Square. The food was very good, but in no way comparable to other Roux restaurants such as Roux at the Landau, and does not in any way justify the high prices. The wine list was extensive, if unimaginative and the ambiance more akin to a hotel restaurant, with lift music and mundane decor. But it is the service is what stands out as particularly poor here. Staff appear very badly trained and inexperienced, and totally unsuited to a restaurant of this apparent class and stature - slow, clumsy and inattentive. It took a full 10 mins for menus to arrive, amuse-bouche arrived a further 15 mins after ordering, starters arrived minutes after the bread did, water ran out and a refill was never offered, and dishes were very described poorly and in haste. All of that with a bill for two people, two courses with coffee and one bottle of mid priced wine for £225 = very poor value.
Unless things drastically improve I will not be back and I would discourage others to avoid others suffering the same fate and experience.
Very attentive service, excellent food, a refined evening in a historic location
The service and location are perfect. A beautiful dinning room with top quality food. We had a relaxing lunch in a great environment
We were given a virgin experience voucher for light tasting menu and 2 cocktails, the food was divine; it was like being in the Masterchef kitchen , wonderful plates of gorgeous food kept appearing. The staff were very efficient but not intrusive and nothing was too much trouble; we will certainly return and definitely recommend to friends
Had a lovely time at Roux at Parliament Square. The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Friday but I expect that's due to the location. It does mean that you can hear a lot of the other guests conversations. The wine was excellent and the food was very good! There were so many extra mini courses which were a lovely touch. Interestingly, service is not included in the bill, as standard. Would definitely recommend.
I’m not really into expensive restaurants, but this was a brilliant experience and good value for money. The food was exceptional and the staff made you feel very comfortable. Will definitely be visiting again very soon. Fabulous
Good food, not amazing but good, at the right level for the restaurant. Bread particularly good. Wine list focused on brand names rather than good QPR - decent if you spend 3 digits. Service was somewhat slow and a bit brusk when it arrived. Cheese with wine flight was fun.
Very nice tasting menu with good wines paired
Absolutely fantastic experience. Attentive staff, delightful surroundings and food to die for! I could not have asked for anything more! Thank you.
The Roux name is well known for fine dining and of course the main restaurant (La Gavroche) is a 2 star michelin - but this second restaurant on Parliament square is a delight. We had the tasting menu and it was fantastic - lots of interesting dishes with great flavour combinations. We don't drink but I noticed that the wine list looked comprehensive, if a little expensive. We had a lovely evening and the staff and ambience were wonderful.
A lovely meal, unrushed with lovely wine pairings. We all had the tasting menu, beautiful food.
A great choice for client lunches and quiet meetings.
Our overall experience was disappointing. We sat for a while before being given menus and were not asked if we would like an aperitif. When our glasses of champagne came the champagne was not cold enough. After our entree I wanted a glass of red wine and asked our waitress which wine she would recommend. She said she would get the sommelier for me. 15 minutes later he had still not arrived and our main courses had. I asked again and he came over rather grumpily. I asked him which wine he would recommend and he swiftly told me but did not explain why or go through any options. The wine was then poured but I was not offered to taste it first.
The overall morale of the staff seemed low. I would not go back again.
My husband and I visited for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. The setting was lovely, the food delicious, with attentive staff who made us feel welcome without being OTT. Definitely plan to visit again on next visit to London. We particularly enjoyed the mango soufflé.
Wonderful restaurant. One of the best I’ve been to. Superb food and service and very reasonable lunch menu.
A place to return to time and time again.
We were really looking forward to this meal but we’re disappointed, mainly by the service that was very slow and the saltiness of the food that was borderline unpleasant.
Very good flavours, presentation and attention to detail. The cooking was spot on.
Portions are not generous but over 3 courses we were left sufficiently full.
Bread is high quality and the butter and caramelized onion spread delicious.
Service is efficient but lacked any engagement or warmth.
Desserts delicious and perfectly executed.
Wine list over priced but some decent bottles around the 50 quid mark.
Fair value for quality.
A beautiful dining room and nice warm ambiance.
Fantastic tasty lunch menu, including truffle risotto, venison and manjari chocolate. Highly recommended.
Wonderful food - but you have to pay for 3 courses even if you don't eat them...
Wonderfully creative food in a charming venue. Love Michel Roux and this is up to standard
We've eaten many good meals here before. But this one was massively disappointing. We had an 8 course tasting menu. The first two courses took 90 minutes to serve. Then the rest were raced past us. Many of the dishes were excellent, but this was not a good dining experience.
Everything about the lunch was superb and I don't say that very often.
We came to London for a couple of days and looked for somewhere out of the ordinary to eat for a date night. We were not disappointed, service was superb, the food was amazing and the ambience was perfect. We will definitely visit again
We arrived for lunch at 12.30 and found it cold as the air con was on, as the restaurant filled up the temperature regulated. That is the only thing that could potentially be altered.
The food was exquisite, the service brilliant and a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. A return visit is a definite.
Nice meal somewhat spoilt by a tall waiter with a small beard who had a very offhand attitude and was slap dash.
Another really enjoyable meal at Parliament Sq. Our friends were badly affected by a problem on the trains and arrived rather late but we were not made to feel uncomfortable by the staff. The food was delicious, as usual. A favourite venue for dining.
Excellent all round. Food was imaginiative and the 5 course tasting menu good value and a great way to try several dishes form the menu. Service was attentive and very knowledgeable. Will definitely go again.
Excellent first visit. Great service delicious food and a calm but impressive atmosphere.
Nothing to tell other than great!
Extraordinary food and incredible value, great place for a Business lunch or a date. Service was clearly over stretched though and not always easy to catch the attention of waiting staff, bar was unattended on our arrival for quite some time. No menus provided whilst at bar and drinks and menus were nearly 10 mins after being sat at table. Still a great experience though (my 3rd visit) and I would go again.
