Superb meal in great surroundings. Perhap you could look into some noise reducing measures as the room gets quite loud when it is full, which make conversation a little more difficult. Realy enjoyed the food and wine which was a delight. Thanks
Great service , great food - slightly pricey but not unexpected.
Will certainly come back.
Excellent gourmet food served in an elegant environment.
Always a great experience with excellent fare at Roux - a family favourite!
As always fabulous food and great service. Can’t go wrong with the lunch time set menu
Had a very good evening meal at Roux at the Landau. The staff at the Langham who ushered us in were very charming and helpful and that continued into the Roux. The atmosphere was refined but not at all stuffy. A la carte was very good. Timing of the arrivals of the dishes were perfect. They had a good selection of wines including an extensive list of desert wines by the glass which is unusual and welcome. We were not hurried in any way and were made to feel welcome without the attentiveness becoming overbearing in a Michelin way. Talking about food and the wines with the staff was pleasurable and informative which is always a good sign. A great place in central London for dinner for two if you want to impress.
The food and service was excellent, but it seems there can be some changes without notice. My desert was supposed to have an earl grey jelly, but the dish was served with an English breakfast jelly which overpowered the delicate lemongrass sorbet. I mentioned it and was told the feedback would be given to the chef. I heard nothing more about it, so hope my comment was taken in the way intended. The rest of the food was magnificent.
Excellent in every aspect. Every one of our visit to Roux at Landau has never disappointed and this was no different. Each dish from the Valentine menu was really good, prepared and presented beautifully. The whisky soufflé was to die for, and deserves a separate mention. Attentive friendly staff. Great ambience.
Valentine’s lunch. We were shown a table at the corner which we did not like and asked the waiter to change and he changed immediately. We tried the tasting menu and did not order alcohol. The waiter understands perfectly and never pushed for recommendation. It was all very straightforward business. The six courses are really nice especially after the first dish which one can only give a score of 4 out of 10, the rest is all 9 to 10. Many reviews online has wonder why this restaurant has not been given a Michelin star. We wonder the same. The food has been delicately prepared with delicious taste and quantity was just right while service has been prompt. I would highly recommend the tasting menu. For two persons with one drink it is excellent value for money. The venisom dish was the best. Too much food to go around really. Well done.
As a regular diner in this restaurant the food was superb and service was great as always. Seemed a bit expensive on this occasion as went a la Carte. A small appetizer and a main each with a bottle of wine came to almost £200. Will look out for the limited menu offers in the future as they are great value.
Food was incredible and the staff and ambience just perfect. Can’t wait to return. Well done to all the team !!!
Great venue, convenient and great setup. Good choice of wines. Very friendly staff, excellent service. Food was well presented and good, but some of the dishes looked like pre-prepared.
I can not fault my experience dining here, I went with my boyfriend to celebrate 10 years of being together and we could not have chosen a better place for such a memorable evening! The tasting menu was out of this world and the matching wine flight was superb and complimented the dishes perfectly. The staff were very friendly and attentive and made the evening very special for us. We will definitely be returning to try more of the amazing food on the menu.
Incredible value for incredible food. We will definitely be back.
VERY disappointed with our lunch, we have been here several times for lunch and it was our favourite place and this time found they have changed the restaurant to a bistro style service and menu. The menu is smaller, no description of the courses the 6 meal tasting menu was really small portions which they should have explained and with the wine very expensive too , also £45 service charge added !
We were unable to get into the bar afterwards and asked 3 times for a table and they didn’t even bother to come to get us and couldn’t care less we were waiting in the Palm Court . The manager in the Palm Court was rude , told us we had gone in the wrong door ?? and wouldn’t move us from the draughty front entrance as he said the tables were all booked for tea when there was only 4 people in the restaurant and no one at the bar , we only wanted an drink while we were waiting . Such a shame they have ruined the restaurant we will go elsewhere in future .
Lovely meal, friendly staff.
A calm atmosphere essential for conversation was present.
Followed by interesting wines (by the glass)
and really delightful and clever first courses.
Pleasant and knowledgable staff.
We enjoyed ourself a great deal.
Will definitely go again
Great restaurant layout out with round table booths and a lovely atmosphere. Staff were friendly with the right level of formality and the food was amazing. It is always lovely to be presented a menu where you felt that you would be happy with any of the dishes on offer. We knew it would be expensive and it was but the difference that extra cost made here was worth every penny. We will definitely return.
Special family event to celebrate my twins 30th birthday. We all had a really lovely time. Very relaxing, great food and discreetly attentive staff. The "birthday chocolates" were an unexpected bonus and the perfect end to a perfect meal.
It was our wedding day and we had the most fabulous meal. Thank you to the staff at Roux at the Landau for making our evening so special!
Warm and friendly surroundings, fabulously good food
Went for breakfast and was impressed with the room - very spacious with plenty of light.
Comfortable seating although table was small for 2 people.
Was asked FOUR times if I wanted to order a drink whilst waiting for my colleague - (show perhaps how slow the coffee was to appear on the table)
my colleagues tea was delivered and poured immediately - before the milk and very very weak, luckily another waitress spotted this and replaced the cup.
Coffee and tea pots are intermixed so just because you have a teapot doesn't mean that tea is actually in it - rather confusing.
Getting fresh coffee DID prove problematic - I think they must have kept forgetting
The cooked breakfast was lovely but they do need to sort out the service - less staff and better trained.
Highly recommend tasting menu! Matching wine was also good but 6 glasses per person a bit too generous :)
I took my wife to Roux at the Landau for our wedding anniversary and wow that a fantastic experience. The food was sublime. From the bread and butter, the starters, mains and dessert, this is the best food we've ever tasted. I don't understand how this restaurant doesn't have a Michelin star, as I've eaten in one star Michelin restaurants before and this was a cut above those. And to top it all, we were given a row of thin chocolate wafers at the end, a complimentary gift as it was our wedding anniversary and the first two bitter dark chocolates wafers even had Happy Anniversary piped onto them. To Monsieur Michel Roux and family, you are geniuses. I didn't know that food could taste like you are going to Heaven, it actually brought tears to my eyes, it was that good.
The service was warm and welcome. Dinner was good, I love crab salad and langoustine pasta particularly. My husband didn’t order any dessert but the restaurant serve him two free desserts to company my 6 course testing menu. We would love to recommend to our friends. We really enjoyed our night At Roux, thank you very much!
Perfect place for dinner and breakfast! We really enjoyed the vintage wine by glasses👍
We enjoyed a delightful dinner in a great ambiance. The simple yet perfectly prepared food was second to none.
Thanking a client for business
Amazing!!! Service and food were 1st class. We had the taster menu and loved it!
Food is excellent. Service good but not quite there for the price you pay.
I took my sister there for dinner and we were both blown away! The food was amazing. The service was descent but I actually would have expected them to be a bit more attentive initially - we sat around to a bit. However, by the end of the meal, service was better and the staff were rather personable.
Beautiful place and fabulous food. All of the staff were so lovely and really nice touch to write Happy Anniversary on our petit four. Thank you for the treat.
Service was impeccable however the only thing that let it down was, at the very end of the service we had to wait to pay our bill. I do believe that was because lunch had ended and we were virtually the last people there, so it's probably our fault.
A combination of a wonderful restaurant and my best friend made this a wonderful birthday evening. Roux at The Landau is a fantastic restaurant and deserves huge praise. A great team and superb food. Thank you for a great night. Looking forward to going back soon.
Not much to say that is not already said about this place. Really classy and just impressive overall.
We were surprised to learn that there was only a limited set menu at lunch time. As a group of 4, some of our party found the choice too limited. The food served was of a very good standard although we further disappointed to find a lack of additonal side dishes to accompany the main choice. We could only have mashed potatoes and spinach. One of our group requested boiled potatoes rather than the mash and he was told that that was too much trouble and could not be accommodated. He also asked for a side dish of peas and this was again refused.
For a restaurant of this calibre to be unwilling to meet a simple request for alternative side dishes is disappointing. The restaurant was quiet with only a small number of diners so there is no excuse. We shall not return and would not recommend it. We have been to the Roux at Parliament Square a number of times and have had a much much better experience.
A lovely place for a leisurely lunchtime catch up with a friend. Impeccable service and delicious food to savour. Couldn’t resist the Grand Marnier soufflé to finish! A memorable and very enjoyable visit.
Overall was a nice experience, although a few minor issues with food quality and speed of courses being served. The flavours of the tasting menu didn’t really flow all though all courses were enjoyed. Be cautious when ordering spirits as they can catch you out! Sommelier was very pleasant and knowledgeable and guided us to find a perfect reasonably priced wine to accompany our venison.
This is my second visit & I was looking forward to the delicate tasting menu once more. Checking in was easy, the food was good the wine pairing was good and the overall experience was fine. I was simply expecting excellent as per the first time. The ambiance is a lot more casual and loud conversations prevail, the dress code is more relaxed for customers & staff, the sommelier pours but doesn’t elaborate anymore, the waiters ask but don’t really listen with rehearsed phrases or bringing the incorrect order, the food quality and creativity is nowhere near as refined or elaborate, but to be fair the price does reflect this. An enjoyable experience for a first time but a disappointment the second time due to a noticeable drop in standards.
