Wonderful meal, superb Tokaji, delightful staff. And helpful to start so early in the evening. Expensive wine list.
Top rate service with fantastic food and the little extra chocolate treat at the end as it was a birthday treat for my wife was the perfect touch.
We were treated with the utmost care and curtesy (even though we were on a voucher presented to us by Lexus) The tasting menu was tailored to our exact dietary requirements (which we were asked to specify at the time of the booking) and were printed out for us individually The food was exquisitely fine delicious and executed to perfection The presentation superb including a little surprise "happy anniversary" thinnest choclate sheets presented in a small rack after our desert The whole experience was very special and absolutely impeccable We felt thoroughly spoilt Thank you Landau and well done We look forward to returning soon
I am a massive fan of the Landau but it was a slightly off tonight to be honest. The service was not quite as attentive, the food marginally below par and the overall experience very very good but not the usual exceptionally high standards I am used to. It took a while for glasses to be refilled, the cod was not as flavoursome as I would expect and everything seemed a little rushed and disorganised. This is a wonderful place with exceptionally high standards and while tonight it wasn’t quite perfect, I would massively recommend it.
Excellent meal at Roux at The Landau - understated but excellent all round experience.
I have to say, heaving dined at a Roux restaurant before I had high expectations.
However for me the restaurant did not deliver up to my expectations, and here is why
1. Service was very slow, we had to call them quite a few times to take order just for drinks or food. They were courteous but clearly overwhelmed by the number of diners
2. Variety of the menu wasn’t fantastic. In a French restaurant you’d expect 2-3 meat mains, here there was only 1 (beef).
3. The food was good but could have been a bit more creative (my personal view given the type of restaurant we are talking about). It left me uninspired
4. The room was really noisy and the atmosphere ressembles more a bistrot/brasserie rather than restaurant
Don’t get me wrong, I had a good meal, but you’d expect a top dining experience which I think the restaurant did not deliver.
The service was impeccable, the food delicious. We went for the taster menu at £80 this was nonetheless good value as the food was tasty and the portions although not large meant we were replete at the end.
The differently flavoured chocolate slithers on a little toast rack at the end were gorgeous.
Outstanding food and service. Even though in a busy room the layout gave you the feeling that one was only amongst a few others.
The staff were attentive without being overbearing.
Starter was great. Main was ok.
We had the set menu (£35 for 2 courses). The food was delicious. The service was perfect. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Really lovely attentive service and a lovely breakfast.
Just perfect, food amazing, service amazing . Go here for a special time
Perfect for the special occasion
The staff were friendly and welcoming, the waiting staff were jovial and very
Helpful and accommodating with great suggestions. The menu was perfect enough to choose from. Would definitely recommend and go again!
The pre-theatre menu is excellent value for money with generous portion sizes.
Wonderful evening enjoying our anniversary. Food was wonderful, even the bread was a delight. We both polished our plates of each course. We had a starter and main and couldn't indulge in puds as we were so full. The shards of chocolate served at the end of the meal were lovely. Would certainly recommend this restaurant for a good meal.
The food, service, ambience was lovely, though I have rated the started a 4 because it was a little tasteless. I think it was just too cold (beetroot and mozzarella). I think it was pretty expensive, not entirely sure it was worth that much, but we were on a deal with the hotel so it wasn't an issue.
Absolutely delighted with everything! Food was amazing, staff superb, food arrived timely. Loved the oval table for five, which made the dinner more sociable and cosy for all guests. Even when they got the dessert wrong they didn’t make any fuss and allowed us to keep that mistake for free! Pricey, but worth it. Will definitely return for another special treat!
Service was slow and we had to request things like bread and bottled water more than once. The food quality was variable and some starters looked and tasted as if they'd been prepared and left sitting for some time. Considering this was a set lunch that should have offered good value the total bill felt high even allowing for wine and some other extras hence the low value score.
Good food but for the cost, I expected amazing food and it wasn't.
Excellent, friendly service and great wine selection but food a bit disappointing.
waited over 1 hour for the stater
I would like to start by thanking the girls at the desk and the manager on duty Saturday night for going out of their way to look after us. We had booked the 3 course and a glass of champagne offer for an anniversary but got the times mixed up. We were initially told that the offer wasn’t available at that time of night so we said we would re-book and come back another time. But the girls asked us to wait while they spoke to the manager. He came out to see us immediately and without hesitation asked us to come inside and that the timing mix up didn’t matter. We got from what we could see the best table in the restaurant. All the staff were brilliant with us and the champagne food and wine were all delicious and they topped it off with a special little treat with happy anniversary written on it. I would give the restaurant and the staff 11/10 if it were possible and cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone that enjoys good food and caring staff
Had to send food back as cold and very poor value for money Very poor waited half an hour once we asked for the bill for it to come man on next table not happy either as waited ages for his meal Has gone down hill since last visit
Lovely food, great servis. The finishing touch with ekstra chocolate tasting platern served with the coffee was a delight surprise.
Outstanding meal from the three course set menu. Service high quality and very knowledgeable staff. It is pricey so would be a special occasion place but worth it.
Perfect in every way
Just excellent . Food was amazing staff were wonderful . Had a great night
Food and services are simply Michelin standard. I am so happy to celebrate my birthday at Roux at The Landau
This is without a doubt the best Upmarket Restaurant in London. It has everything from a magnificent room to spacious tables set far apart and it is also quiet so that you can talk. Beautiful flowers and gorgeous food with the most attentive intelligent staff.
The waitress was very attentive and made sure I had everything for my dietary restrictions. 🙏 Food was very good as well.
From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the friendly yet professional Maitre D' to the moment we left after our meal, we cannot fault the service, the food or the friendliness of the staff. Polite and professional service, the staff took time to chat and assist as needed. I am embarrassed that I do not remember the names of the lovely lady who greeted and seated us, the sommelier who helped with our wine choices, the manager who periodically checked on us and our waitress, who wore "lovely" perfume, but can only thankful the staff for a lovely, relaxed lunch in a very pleasant environment. We will be back and fully recommend a visit. Michel Roux Jnr should be proud of his team at Roux at the Landau.
Excellent service and fabulous food, in fact quite exceptional food
Superb ! The set menu, available lunch, early dinner and late dinner is absolute bargain. Great food, great service, great wine. Wonder why it doesn’t have a Michelin star yet.
Amazing time at the restaurant celebrating a friend's birthday. The food was tasty, well done. The attendants didn't hover/bother you. Great atmosphere and we got a tour of the kitchen.
We have been the loyal customers for years! This time we celebrate our soon coming the second baby here. The staff were amiable, and the atmosphere was so comfortable and warm, the food was astonishing, every bite felt like spring. We had a great time there, received a lot of congratulations from the restaurant. Thank you very much again for this wonderful experience!
It is always a lovely experience dining here - food is amazing. Service is exactly what you expect it to be - excellent. Ambience is great - not too noisy but noisy enough for an atmosphere. This is my new favourite place to go ! If you haven't tried the hens egg - it is an absolute must !
We had a lovely late lunch 3 courses from the fixed price option. This was great value and the food was really interesting and tasty. We both like fish so had it for starter and main. Both dishes were very different to each other. The souffle was just about the best we've had as my wife said "I had a few souffles in my life and that was possibly the best". Staff friendly attentive wines good. We could want no more.
Attentive staff especially as I am gluten intolerant.
Our main meal, the ox cheek was perfectly cooked with amazing mashed potato. My husband had the cheeses which were interesting, and my souffle was light and delicious. Definitely returning.
We had the tasting menu, and I have to say that every single dish was delicious. The venue has a lot of class, but doesn't feel overly stuffy. The service was great, giving just the right level of attention. This place is far from cheap, but if you fancy a bit of luxury and can afford it, this is a wonderful place to spend the evening.
The front desk hostess was lovely. That is where it pretty much ends.
We ordered oysters to start. They were very fresh and tasty. Our actual starters then took over an hour to come out. No apology for the delay. My 24 pound scallop ( yes 1 average size scallop ) was cooked well however covered in a tasteless sauce and the barest portion of caviar.
My main course was Turbot, lobster ravioli and Château-Chalon sauce. The lobster ravioli was delicious. The turbot was overcooked. The sauce non-existent. My husband's pork was cooked well.
For dessert my Pear and single malt soufflé had risen well and was light and fluffy. There was however no pear and certainly no single malt. The side of white coffee ice cream was tasty.
Our champagne was lovely. We then ordered a chardonnay suggested by the sommelier. It was nice. What was not OK was having to ask to have more wine poured. Our glasses were empty more often than not. The wine was kept near the central island and not accessible to us.
Our meal took so long that we finished our wine during the main course. When the wine was emptied were not given the chance to order more. When we ordered our desert we asked to order another wine by the glass. We were half way through our desert by time this was served to us.
We went to a Roux restaurant hence were fully prepared to pay for all that " should " have entailed however with the very small portions of very average food and the long wait times for food and drinks there is no way I can justify the prices we paid.
What a shame. This was a long awaited and saved up for date night and I can not even begin to tell you how disappointed I was. I am sure it was very clear to the staff by the end of the meal that I was far from impressed however I could not bring myself to complain at the time as I think I might have actually cried !
