Rustic Stone by Dylan McGrath
Cibo ottimo, credo una delle migliori farmi mai mangiate! Personale cordiale e sempre disponibile!
a little on the pricey side but food was excellent.
We sat on the first floor.. was a little cold with the door opening and closing the whole time.
We barely had our coats off when we were asked to order. We had to ask for more time twice, fair enough I suppose. But... we were then surprised to see our starters arrive within 3 minutes of ordering. No sooner were the starter plates removed than they were replaced by our mains. We were asked 5 times by 3 different waiters if we were ready to order dessert, despite having asked for time to digest our food and to think about our dessert choice. Food was good but not special. No eye contact by waiting staff as we settled our bill, in fact he conducted a conversation with a colleague the whole way through the transaction. We felt harassed and rushed and what should have been a pre Christmas treat turned out to be an expensive fast food experience. I agree with other reviewers where the upshot was footfall over quality and customer satisfaction . Overall very disappointing.
Average food overinflated prices. Sorry did not go to gallon and Byrne food, service, ambience a step above
Food and service was excellent. The wings are the best ever!
Great meal and service.
Best restaurant in Dublin for sure.Great services all the dishes are lovely.love the steak on the stone definely recommenced to everyone!
Great if you a meat eater... not so good if you are the vegan in the group. Only vegan choice was a salad which was a little disappointing, but I suppose it is a steak restaurant. Everything else was very good.
Excellent taste, great quality and very nice and polite service staff.
Friendly and accommodating staff. The place are easy to access disregarding the traffic and one way street.
A little disappointed with the experience. Bread starter with dips - hummus and baba ganoush not even close to what they should taste, bread could have been fresher. Asked for olive oil which arrived in a small bowl, thin and tasteless (looked like cooking oil).
Burger with goat's cheese was tasty in general, a bit too savory when one bit into all the toppings (cheese is very salty, on top of very well seasoned burger).
Dessert was delicious (pecan and banana ... pudding possibly? )
Overall very average meal ended up with a massive bill. Not a good value for money in my opinion.
Our table (2) was too small to eat comfortably. We ordered steaks on the stone but found ourselves burning our fingers/hands trying to cook & transfer the meat to plates as there wasn't enough room on the table for everything.
Also, the portion sizes (chips/mushroom & polenta/chicken wings) were quite small.
The server forgot our dessert but told us it was on the house when we asked about it, which was a nice gesture.
Overall, we found it overpriced and not a particularly enjoyable experience. We would not recommend.
Bread and dips good, but no olive oil or butter and big deal made when we asked for olive oil. Starter was nice chicken wings, tasty. Main course pesto pasta was cold and very little flavour, didn’t send back as staff were rushing around and too busy, not worth the hassle. Not one dessert on menu looked tempting. This is my 3rd time at restaurant but I will not be back
Really enjoyed the nite food good company great
My party of 4 had an excellent experience at the Rustic Stone. We were having our Thanksgiving Holiday abroad in Dublin, and though there was no turkey, this was such a nice change from the traditional American Thanksgiving Dinner. Thank you Rustic Stone for a fantastic Thanksgiving experience away from home.

Really enjoyed restaurant, staff were great and food was very good quality. I’ll be back x
There was nobody there but ourselves but we felt that we were the forgotten 2 ha. We ordered a salad but it didn’t come til we ordered a 2 Nd time and we had to wait to find someone to pay! We ordered the hummus and bread for one to divide! It was served with about 6 slices of sourdough- so a bit of waste there! We asked that the burger be well done but the meat seemed to be very compressed. (The trimmings were lovely tho)! So we needed serrated knife to cut!! The polenta chips were delicious. R Stone is still my fave restaurant. This wasn’t my best visit!
Lovely venue , nice food
Absolutely beautiful outstanding meal, wine outstanding, staff couldn’t do enough, over all a truly magnificent experience, will deff be back
The waiter we had was beyond rude and just made us feel uncomfortable. The food was average and the service was the worst.
This was my first and last time going to this restaurant. If you are thinking of going here for dinner dont.
Very good indeed and an enjoyable experience. Food was excellent all around from the hot stone TBone to pasta dishes and sides. Would recommend.
Such a shame that you come out smelling of food. Asked for a medium steak but they can only give you steak on a stone. Opted for the burger instead which was lovely. Friends got pasta that was covered in Parmesan.
Room overcrowded and sitting near the door. Very cold should have some type of curtain across the door.
The only thing i woul comment is the smell on the clothes. Too much!! All the clothes smelt at smoke!!
20 minutes waiting for a drink at bar
Hadn’t our table that was pre poked ready
Very slow when ordered food
Steaks were tough
Wonderful service, delicious food but relatively small portions with regards to sides. Wonderful experience overall.
Went here on Saturday food was great as pure usually, all dishes very tasty. loads of choices to choose from. Few things I will comment on is, I was bringing my boyfriend out for his birthday on Saturday with his friend and when I was booking the table mentioned it was going to be his birthday that night and when I had to reconfirm my booking the lady mentioned about his birthday and would acknowledge it on the Saturday night. Then on Saturday when it came to dessert nothing was done I know its only something small to do but was annoyed by it. Also the waiter we had was quite rude and very snappy towards I while I was asking him about what I could order as I have a dairy and soya intolerance and just making sure what I had order was ok. I will note I've only been told recently about these intolerance and still getting use to it so apologies for all the questions towards but I wasn't sure. Also I've been here a number of times throughout the years and abosutely love the place just the service wasn't great at this visit. I tried to inform yous about this on the Saturday while I was paying but it was the same waiter that was serving us and a manger wasn't available. I'll still be back as I love the place but just service was a let down.
Fabulous meal with great service
Food is good but very overpriced.
The small portion of wings as a starter is €9 and you get 4 wings. For the special fillet steak and chips it was over €40 with no extras. This is quite expensive when you are cooking the steak yourself.
The waiter was not very friendly and seemed extremely offended when we asked for ketchup. When I asked him to explain the type of sauce that came with the special he didn't know how to and had to get another waiter to come explain.
The food was nice but not worth the price of the bill. We will not be returning and I will unfortunately not be reccomending.
Food is great, service is great. Downstairs seating is very hot and noisy
A cut above the other area restaurants. Fine service, good drinks. Varied menu. I’d recommend it to friends.
Excellent service and food was wonderful. Seven of us for a special occasion lunch ranging in age from 23 to 90 and everyone delighted with the experience. They have a great lunch offer, great value, we didn't take it up this time but would definitely return
The worst Restaurant in my life, food is awful, the place is ugly
It was very busy and noisy which impacted on the service. Choice was limited for a coeliac even though on the website it’s USP seemed to be for specialist diets but no gluten free pasta or bread even the burgers weren’t gluten free. It wasn’t a relaxing night out, conversation was difficult due to noise level. It’s really a steak house .
The reviews attracted me to this restaurant. As a visitor to Dublin I was deeply disappointed. I should have checked the menu but vegetarians really just not catered for at all. So, my fault. But, the chef wouldn’t even make a simple green side salad. The toilets were filthy and noise extraordinary. The waiter was dismissive and even rude. I ended up having pesto penne. It was dry and rubbery. So, sorry peeps not a good experience.
Two shared starters, Tuna on the Stone, a bottle of wine and 2 espresso martinis, all very enjoyable. My only criticism is the wine list is quite pricey with only one bottle of red wine on the menu priced under €30.00 and the majority of red wines are around mid-thirty range and up.
I love this place. I moved away from dublin a couple of years aho but i still manage to come back a couple of times a year
Great experience and ambiance, steak was nice however a bit to expensive
It was overall a great night and dinner, the only little thing was there were 2 alcoholic drinks added to our bill that weren’t ours but it was rectified once we brought it to the waiters attention.
