Rustic Stone by Dylan McGrath
Very good food - a little in the pricey side
Service was poor, waiter wasn't sure on the menu when questions were asked. The quality of the steak was not up to scratch with a massive wedge of fat running through my fillet steak with the knife barely cutting through it. Really disappointing given the reputation of the restaurant.
Another great experience while celebrating a birthday.
Service was particularly good
Friendly staff, nice ambiance, but a limited enough menu. All the bowls read very well but for €18 approx you expect a bit more content and a lot less leaves. The tuna on the stone got a rave review by my quest.
First time in stone @ Rustic after years of hearing about it. Wasn’t really impressed though. The food was very average and the restaurant had an overall grubbiness to it like it’s been untouched for years. The staff were fine but inexperienced and that’s ok for one or two but all of them seemed to be just starting out. Over priced for an underwhelming night. I wouldn’t return or recommend.
We enjoyed this visit so much. Best tuna ever and never knew fennel could taste so good! Orange flavored salad for starters was gorgeous and all the fun ended up in chocolate heaven. Our favorite Austrian grape was on the wine list, perfect! Service was friendly, atmosphere cosy enough. - Only regret is not testing any of the fabulous looking coctails, even moctails available. Will try them next time!
The ribeye was fantastic! Will come back again if we come back to Dublin.
Disappointing. Food was ok. Pricey enough. I got the wrong main course (but only realised when I got the bill!).
It was my first time at Rustic Stone on New Year's Eve. The food was really really lovely, but unfortunately it was really warm in the restaurant to the point where we didn't want to order any food 'on the stone'. The lamp above our table was shining directly in our eyes, which made it very uncomfortable. We covered it with our napkins. the staff were friendly, but we were waiting for a long time to place orders. I'll happily go back a next time, hoping the slightly disappointing experience is a one-off
Great food, fantastic service. Decent pricing. Enjoyed ourselves.
We’ve spend nice hours celebrating New Year’s Eve. Perfect Service and Food.
Service was poor. Not enough staff. Food was great.
Great food & nice place to treat yourself. Definitely worth a visit.
Husbands steak was great but not a great choice for vegetarians.
We were pretty disappointed with Rustic Stone. We had the salads which were small and pretty boring.
The menu is pretty limited and it all seemed pretty pricey for what we received.
Not a great experience
Bon repas, peu d’ambiance
Excellent food, great experience. Would thoroughly recommend
Too expensive for so little food. Customer service very poor for the type of restaurant
Not a great service. The fact that you needed to cook your meal on the stone was not explained. I can't cook fish. That's why I order it in a restaurant. Processo was flat had to send back. Horrific toilets. Food was okay, but it was me who cooked it.
I have never left a review before but this meal was so bad I couldn't just ignore it. Starters selection dull and expensive. "Rolls Royce sirloin" more like a second hand Audi. Still the highlight of the meal. Vegetarian options appalling and the only nice sounding one was off. Chips pleasant but they would want to be at over a Euro each. Desserts passable, in a work canteen. Warm banana and caramel pudding was straight from the fridge.
Cocktails were decent thankfully. We had a €100 voucher (otherwise we'd have gone elsewhere) and still felt overcharged for what we paid.
Found the waiter who took our order to be very dismissive and rude. The other staff who served us food we could not fault.
The food does not disappoint and the service is good.
Great steaks. Waiter was excellent and comped our desserts when there was a mistake made with one of our mains.
Food was great, tables were a tad small for our food. My partner and I order the steak for 2 and found it hard to have everything on the table comfortably with wine and sides
Food was amazing and price reasonable. Food service and comfortable seating, however the venue needs better ventilation as the stone cooking generates a lot of smoke and the ventilation is not good enough - we came out smelling food for the whole night.
Otherwise this place has great potential!
Mediocre food and appalling service would not return.
We were disappointed. We expressed our view while in the restaurant. The portion of meat/fish in the main course was tiny. Three times we asked for our side dishes. They eventually arrived but only when we were finished our main course.
We had several waiters serving us. None of whom gave good service. They were dismissive of us when we repeatedly asked for our side dishes. My plate was snatched from me when I pointed out the tiny portion of salmon. Shoved back in front of me without any comment and and another piece was placed to my side a few minutes later without comment.
We did complain we were given the side dishes for free and a bottle of wine. Which was generous but we all would have prepared an enjoyable dining experience which was not the case.
We all were very disappointed.
Very noisy, felt squeezed in and rushed. Food was nice. Staff kindness ans attentiveness saved it.
Usual fare in a place like this , nothing special , nothing bad either , €36 for a steak is a little Irish to be honest
Fantastic great food amazing service all round winner
Our server was uninterested and extremely rude to members of our party. We were running an event and had people over from the US, Australia and Puerto Rico and they were shocked by the way the server spoke to them and how he took plates off the table before everyone had finished eating. He also came back to the table three times to the same woman who felt that he hurried her into finishing her starter. In addition to this he walked away from the table as one of our party was talking to him on numerous occasions which added to the poor service.
Cibo ottimo, credo una delle migliori farmi mai mangiate! Personale cordiale e sempre disponibile!
Food was nice however the potatoes and chips were not too hot and by the time we cooked the steak they had to go on the stone also to heat them up.€31 per steak to cook yourself is expensive and the table was tiny to eat from. We were wedged against the stairs at a table for 2. Experience is a way of putting it but I won't be rushing back.
The price is for the steak only and everything else is extra, menu is limited. Irish people like potatoes and veg, be great if the restaurant considered this. Honest opinion sorry Rustic Stone
a little on the pricey side but food was excellent.
We sat on the first floor.. was a little cold with the door opening and closing the whole time.
We barely had our coats off when we were asked to order. We had to ask for more time twice, fair enough I suppose. But... we were then surprised to see our starters arrive within 3 minutes of ordering. No sooner were the starter plates removed than they were replaced by our mains. We were asked 5 times by 3 different waiters if we were ready to order dessert, despite having asked for time to digest our food and to think about our dessert choice. Food was good but not special. No eye contact by waiting staff as we settled our bill, in fact he conducted a conversation with a colleague the whole way through the transaction. We felt harassed and rushed and what should have been a pre Christmas treat turned out to be an expensive fast food experience. I agree with other reviewers where the upshot was footfall over quality and customer satisfaction . Overall very disappointing.
Average food overinflated prices. Sorry did not go to gallon and Byrne food, service, ambience a step above
Food and service was excellent. The wings are the best ever!
Great meal and service.
Best restaurant in Dublin for sure.Great services all the dishes are lovely.love the steak on the stone definely recommenced to everyone!
