Everything was great except the food which is one of the main reason we decided to spend a birthday there. For appetizers we ordered the bbq shrimp and shrimp cocktail. Both were good not great. Kind of like meh. Our salads arrived and the first thing i noticed was the food runner delivered our salads to the wrong table. When the other guest explained that it wasn’t their food, the food runner, glanced at me and I gestured that it was ours. The salads were already placed on the other guest’s table so the salads had slid a little off the plates with salad dressing sloppily all around the plates. Our salads had the appearance that they have been sitting out for some time. The lettuce appeared wilted and not cool and crisp of a salad. The salad plates weren’t even cool to the touch. I expect this of restaurant of this tier level. Needless to say, I placed the salad to side. For my main dish I ordered the rib eye medium well (hot pink center). When I cut into my rib eye it was cooked a little too well. Not a hot pink center, no seasoning or flavor of a nicely prepared rib eye. Also, seemed extremely greasy. Our sides of potatoes au gratin and mac ‘n cheese were fine. To be fair our desserts were spectacular. I’m a regular guest of Mikes American steakhouse and Ozzie’s Good Eats. I always order the rib eye. Last weekend I visited Del Frisco’s steakhouse and ordered the rib eye. I expected Ruth Chris to be comparable to Del Frisco’s steakhouse. I have to say that I am disappointed this wasn’t the case or at least for this specific visit. I could chalk it up to this one specific visit and not Ruth Chris norm. Of course I had my rib eye and sides boxed up and they are still sitting in fridge. Will discard.
My family and I came in to partake in Restaurant Week. We enjoyed the menu options.
Milton was great! Took care of all of our needs and the food was exquisite.
We had a wonderful meal and everything from parking to finishing our meal was spectacular.
26th Wedding Anniversary. Would have preferred a full window view.
This was my boyfriend’s first steakhouse and he loved it! We went for restaurant week and it was a great deal!
The food wasn’t the normal, great taste that I am accustomed to. Also, our waiter didn’t pay much attention to us, he was more concerned with another table and anything he did for me and my family was contingent upon what they needed first. That was NOT ok.
This Ruth's Chris never disappoints. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. The ambience was wonderful. As my husband and I celebrated his birthday, everyone from the greeter to our server, made this birthday experience a complete joy! Thank you for service with excellence. Having his name on the menu was great! We truly enjoyed our experience.
Great food! Hostess ‘forgot us’ then put us in the bar...loud and annoying. After switching tables, the waiter ‘forgot us’...over 25 minutes just to order.
Service was awesome! Wait staff was very attentive and they got our orders right. Food was impeccable! We selected steak, stuffed chicken and crab cake. Our food was served hot and was seasoned perfectly. We had a great experience and we will be returning soon. Ruth Chris has never disappointed me. Special thanks to our server, Rob, he was very courteous and helpful.
If you sit in the bar area (great views of airport) be prepared for really noisy dining experience.
It was great. My friends birthday was amazing!
Birthday celebration for my husband
Teddy was amazing. He made the experience great! Would go back just for him!
Kevin was an amazing server and made the night very special.
Amazing view, fantastic food , great cocktails and an attentive staff, what else can you ask for? I always have a great time there!!!
Great service and love the special attention for his bday!
Seated in the bar area, so not very intimate. Noisy room due to closeness of tables to bar and hard floors letting sound bounce. However, the service and meal were spot on to the standards you'd expect from Ruth's Chris. Scenic view is a bit industrial if you focus on the near side of the Potomac, so just look across the river instead!
Our visit was for my sister's birthday and the special birthday touch you provided made her so happy, for that reason alone I would return. Food is a bit pricey but then I don't know much about steaks. I had the chopped salad but was a bit disappointed that I couldn't add a grilled chicken breast to it. Overall it was very good because my sister was happy!!!
The quality of the filet was quite poor especially compared to Morton’s. Cannot beat the view. The hostesses were very welcoming and attentive. The waiter was nice.
Birthday celebration was wonderful. Server ensured all requests were addressed immediately. Wonderful experience as always at Ruth Chris!
I always enjoy my dining experience at this location. From the literal view of the DMV, to the super attentive service and the always phenomenal steaks. They did well to cater to my request, as I was there to celebrate a birthday. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the appetizers and sides were prepared as only Ruth Chris can. The sweet potato casserole teeters the line between side dish and desert; it's amazing. I will say the prices are always slightly jarring when trying to decide what to get and when that final bill comes. But you go to Ruth Chris because you know where your money is going.
Rudy did a great job!
Great views, food and wine very good, great place for a business discussion
Our waiter was the BEST and service and food were the grest
Wonderful dinner always love sitting this bar area and having Teddy as our waiter!!
Once again a magnificent experience! Fantastic in all respects. Teddy is the best!
Best of the "classic" steakhouses. Their high-temp broiling and the sizzling butter make each perfect hunk of beef irresistible. Traditional and newer sides complete the main course. Impeccable service from true professionals. My one criticism would be to include a broader selection of wines by the glass, beyond the Chardonnays and Cabernets.
Order the NY Strip
The Service as well as the food was amazing ! Out waiter was very friendly and outgoing, smiling all the time and even joking with us. Overall the service was amazing and I would recommend the experience to anyone !
Our server Teddy is wonderful. Very attentive , engaging and not intrusive. His wine suggestion was excellent. Glad to see improvements in the wine list--our prior visit had " new" wine selections which were terrible ( I tasted 3 and all were nasty ) .
The new hostess need more coaching. Our Open Table reservation was not acknowledged on the system. She brought us to the table; I was barely seated and she is handing me an open menu and then the wine list to grab--she should wait until the guest IS seated and settled before shoving open menus at us. Or better , leave them on the table for us to take when we are ready. Little subtle changes go a long way . Gave me the impression to hurry up and being rushed--not beginning what should be an enjoyable dining experience .
Teddy is great!
The table for 8 was awkwardly arranged and it was difficult to talk. Add in the noise, it was not a memorable occasion overall. The staff could not even reach each diner's position and I ended up handing my wife her dinner plate, water, etc. Very poorly designed. Work on table arrangements.
This particular Ruth's Chris is normally my favorite location, however I was disappointed in the service and food. I have never had a dry and tough filet, but today it was tough. The mashed potatoes were not creamy and instead tasted old, dry, and lukewarm. I was unable to inform our server of my disappointment because he was super busy tending to the rest of the tables in his section (which was about 7 or 8 other tables). Unfortunately, this also made the service slow and slightly inattentive. When you are paying top dollar for a meal, you expect better quality...but that was not the case. Hopefully, it was just an off day.
Dinner at Ruth's Chris was to celebrate the 65th birthday of a dear friend. The restaurant personalized the menu and there were Happy Birthday graffiti on the table upon our arrival. The birthday celebrant was very pleased and the food was delicious.
The food was amazing, the service was excellent and the view was great. The only issue i had was the cost. How did fine dining get to be so darned expensive? Over $300 for dinner for my wife and I for a reasonable bottle of wine and one drink each.
They literally forgot to put the food order in, but they did a great job trying to rectify the issue. They had a huge party that was swamping the kitchen next door with orders.
The waiter Cris was one of the best, but the food was simply not worth the value.
We will circle back and try them again, after we make the next round at Morton’s and Capital Grill.
Fabulous wine dinner
Overall good. Steak overcooked, but still flavorful. Very loud the evening I was there. I have been to other locations that were not as "energetic".
Will like a call from management food was great service wasn't
