We had a wonderful lunch on Sunday. Our waitress was great, funny, engaging and generous. The five of us were given a delicious dish on the house to try. Portions were great, the meat tender and flavourful and everything was beautifully presented. Our New Zealand guest put it on her list of places to recommend to friends when travelling to Ireland.

Rathgar
About the restaurant
Piano Piano — more than just an Italian restaurant, it’s a way of dining.
Located in the heart of Rathgar, we believe in slowing down, savouring every bite, and filling the table with good food and great company.

Led by Head Chef Nibaldo Soto Román, our kitchen creates every dish from scratch — fresh handmade pasta, slow-simmered sauces, and vibrant seasonal sides. The menu blends authentic Italian flavours with a modern touch, featuring favourites like Stracciatella Caprese pizza, creamy Pappardelle Pollo & Panna, and Spaghetti all’Amatriciana.

Beyond our menu, we host private children’s pizza workshops — perfect for birthdays and special celebrations — where young chefs get hands-on with dough, toppings, and plenty of fun.

Here, there’s no rush. Just warm service, fresh ingredients, and plates that bring people together. Perfect for family dinners, date nights, or special occasions — right in the charming village atmosphere of Rathgar.

Chinese
Ranelagh
About the restaurant
Chongqing Hotpot in Ranelagh brings the bold and authentic flavours of traditional Chongqing hot pot to Dublin. Originating from the bustling river docks of Chongqing in southwest China, Chongqing hot pot dates back over a century, when boatmen and workers cooked meats and vegetables in a bubbling pot of chilli, Sichuan peppercorn, and spices to stay warm and energised during long days on the Yangtze River.

Today, this iconic dish is famous for its rich, spicy broth and communal style of dining, where friends gather around the pot to cook fresh meats, seafood, vegetables, and noodles together. At Chongqing Hotpot in Ranelagh, we aim to recreate that lively and authentic experience, bringing one of China’s most beloved culinary traditions to Dublin.

Wonderful dining experience, staff excellent & explained how the menu works very well to us newbie’s. The spicy beef broth is very spicy so be cautious if ordering. Good cocktail selection & very interesting deserts. Due to licensing restrictions alcoholic beer is not available but n/a beer, wine & cocktails are. Great food & fantastic fun cooking, ideal for 4-5 people.
