Sabai Thai Gastrobar
Went for Sunday Lunch and were the only ones in there. Food was really good and would definitely go again.
Went for my son’s birthday, great food and friendly staff, recommended.
Decent enough, very good service and food was good, though not spectacular; the basic Pad Thai is a little bland and you need the Sabai own Pad Thai for the usual bells and whistles!
I expected the place to be well kept, but it wasn't so. The table wasn't clean, and there were lots of flies inside.
The staff weren't overly friendly either and the food wasn't great.
It's not somewhere I'd go back to again. We finished our meal quickly and left.
Staff very friendly and polite, food very tasty but a bit pricey compared to other Thai restaurants. The restaurant is quite nice. Close to the town so easy to find.
The food was delicious, well prepared and presented. The staff was friendly and attentive . Loved it! Can’t recommend it enough.
Had been wanting to go to Sabai Thai Gastrobar for four years. Finally went and was not disappointed at all. My family and I eat Thai food very often and have been to Thailand six times, so we can say we know our Thai food- and this was excellent! So many vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options too which was great! The staff were really friendly too. I will definitely go back next time I am down in Brighton! I recommend the Tom Kah soup (with sticky rice!).
If you like Thai you should like this restaurant. We have been a few times, whenever we are visiting Brighton and have never been disappointed.
I enjoyed the food and service. Certainly would go back to try other great dishes.
Authentic Thia food with lovely surroundings and very good friendly service.
We had the Bangkok set meal and it was excellent. We also ordered pre-dinner drinks and my husband was disappointed to see that his gin and tonic was presented already mixed and so the gin was drowned. When he asked for a replacement the barman told him that it had the correct amount of tonic and he knew as he had has been to bar school! The drink was replaced but this attitude was disappointing hence the loss of 2 stars for service. Don't let it put you off going as the food is amazing but either have your G&T elsewhere or specify how you want it served.
I was very impressed with the food. We were a group of 6 eating quite late for a Tuesday evening, so that is why the ambience rating is low as we were the only people in the restaurant, although a group of 3 did turn up after us. Would definitely recommend the restaurant which was my son's recommendation as he has picked up orders from Sabai for Deliveroo.
If you like Thai food and you are in Brighton then this place is an absolute must
Lovely evening meal
Booked Sabai Thai on a recommendation and we were not disappointed.
Friendly staff, prompt service and delicious and plentful food.
Will revisit in the future.
Amazing food and ambiance, definitely somewhere to try for authentic tasting Thai food.
Second time I have been here and just as brilliant as I remember from the first visit a year ago. Delicious food, by far the best out of Thailand that I have come across! Friendly service and accommodating even though we were half an hour late for our reservation!! (Greatly appreciated) Would recommend to everyone, particularly for the many vegan options available on the menu that don't fail on taste either. Superb. Can't wait to go again.
Always reliable good fresh food, and served fairly quickly by pleasant polite staff
We took our granddaughter (a vegetarian) and 10 month old great granddaughter here for dinner. The baby had a special chair fixed to an ordinary chair (better than a high chair) so she was very much part of the social occasion. We liked this. There were plenty of vegetarian dishes to choose from. Indeed the menu was good with a wide choice . This was not the best Thai I have ever tasted but it was a perfectly decent and reasonably priced meal.
Absolutely outstanding really great food and staff. You cannot get better than this.awesome
Wonderful selection for vegans (listed seperately on the menu ). Great value and quick, friendly service
We chose this restaurant as we all enjoy Thai food, especially my husband, and it was his birthday. It was one of the few Thai restaurants in Brighton that was open during the day on a Sunday. We liked the intimate, authentic setting and found the staff to be very friendly. The food was delicious and good value, especially the set lunch menu. We would definitely return, and recommend this to anyone who enjoys Thai food.
Lovely restaurant, very busy so would advise booking. Food tastes fresh and the variety of dishes was vast. The courses were not rushed and staff friendly. I would recommend this restaurant.
Was a nice meal but have had better in Brighton
Service was great. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is lovely. We had dumplings and Tom yum soup to start followed by chicken with basil and jungle prawn curry. It was all okay but not nothing special or that would make
me want to return. The soup was a quite salty.
The menu had many great dishes.
They starters were really tasty and the Green Curry was superb
Thoroughly recommend for the quality of food and service. A relaxing ambience suitable for what we were looking for.
Went to Sabai Thai on a Sunday evening to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We thought it would be just us in there, but when we arrived there was a really nice atmosphere with lots of tables full of people enjoying their evening! The lighting was lovely for our "date night" and we sat next to the waterfall feature which we thought was great. The food was amazing and tasted fresh with lots of clear flavours! Best green Thai curry I've ever tried so we will definitely be back!! Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble which made our evening perfect! Thank you again Sabai Thai, we absolutely loved it and can't rate you enough for a great evening!!
Me and my boyfriend booked this place 5 weeks before going to the restaurant. It was amazing I cannot believe how great it was. Food was literally amazing! I would recommend highly!!!
Found it on the Internet, so pleased. Really wanted to eat this night . You would never think it was down the street is was, hard to find. Really really good food. Will go again next time I'm in Brighton . Best Thai food I've had out side Thailand
Lovely atmosphere, great food and service. Can recommend the pad thai and panang curry!
I have eaten at Sabai many times in the past with family and friends. The food never disappoints. It smells wonderful, looks amazing and is always delicious. The staff are friendly and very efficient and the general ambience is very relaxing .
Went to Sabai Thai with another couple after Saturday matinee at the theatre so was early evening. Its not a huge restaurant so whilst fairly full not long after us, not that many people there. Food was tasty but nothing special, portions quite small, lots of sauce on curries but not much meat. Didn't feel it was great value for money and the service was quite slow between starter and main course. Overall Ok but wouldn't rush back.
We visited Sabai Thai before attending a concert at the Brighton Dome, and were blown away by the authentic flavours, real heat in places, and wonderful service.
Too often, Thai food in the UK is bland and dumbed down- no such concerns here with fresh, flavoursome dishes with the occasional punch of chilli (but nothing too unpalatable).
Service was friendly and fast, without being obtrusive, and the bill was a very pleasant surprise as well! Will definitely be back.
Really nice little restaurant. The food is amazing - don't know, how they do the 3 course lunch for under £11. Very pleasant all round. Have been before and will definitely go again.
We have been here a few times and never been disappointed it's really good for all. If it's a weekend I'd Recommend you book as it gets busy
We were looking for a restaurant in central Brighton, Subai Thai is right by the Pavillion. The food was tasty, the service wasn't slick but it was efficient. It was pretty good value, £150 for 6 adults including a starter and large beer each (we were too full for dessert).
This was our second visit to the Sabai Thai, the first time being about 3 years ago. The food was still great and good value, with efficient friendly service. The only negative is that the tables are very close together so not somewhere to go for an intimate meal but good with friends. Is starting to look like it could do with a small refurb but you really can't fault the food so we would return.
This is a consistently great restaurant. The food, service and vibe impresses me every time!
Great location, great pad Thai with giant prawns and great shredded duck for starters. One of the best Thai meals I have had out of Thai land! We will be back!
