Sake no Hana bar and restaurant is housed on the first floor of a modernist Grade II listed building in the heart of St James, offering modern Japanese dining. The a la carte menu provides a variety of hot and cold appetisers, charcoal grill, Toban and Kamameshi dishes, while sushi and sashimi are prepared to order at the 13 seat sushi bar. A carefully selected list of sakes, Japanese whiskeys and other wines, spirits and liqueurs complement the dishes offered in the restaurant. Sake no Hana’s interiors were designed my esteemed architect Kengo Kuma and the bar includes a beautiful futuristic chandelier, offering the perfect space for post work cocktails.

The food was very lovely, but the service was very slow at the beginning. Even though we knew we only had the table for 2 hours, we only just finished our starters when we were reminded that they need our table back in half an hour. The subsequent two dishes (sushi and main courses) were therefore rushed and we did not have time for a desert or more drinks. As much as I understand that the restaurant is busy on a Saturday night and they want to turn as many table as possible, it is not nice to be rushed by this, especially given the amount of money you spend!! The quality of the food is very good, but nevertheless I did not thoroughly enjoy the evening!

Place is very nice, ambience is excellent. First time when we visited Sake no Hana, we loved everything we ordered. Sashimi, rolls, tempura - delicious! BUT second time we ordered tasting menu and we didn’t like it at all! All guests left this place hungry, and selection of food was very poor 😬

This is the 6th or 7th time I've been to Sake no Hana in the last 2 years, which is unusual for me, there are so many amazing restaurants in London I try not to do too many repeats. This restaurant is so exceptional its worth breaking a few rules for. True dinning experience is a glib phrase used to describe everything from burgers to popcorn at the moment. But for SnH its true. Well worth a visit....or several!

I had a fantastic birthday dinner at Sake no Hana. The communication for booking was polite and smooth, the service by the waiting staff flawless and friendly. The food was absolutely amazing and made me want to come back again. All dishes in our Christmas kaiseki course were visually entertaining, wide variety of ingredients used and tasted sensational. I’ll definitely recommend the place!

Atmosphere and food are fantastic but service was really bad, we had to ask for the same thing like salt 4/5 times and wait 10/15 mins for it to finally arrive.

Chose Sake No Hana for what was intended to be a special Christmas time meal with family and chose the tasting menu. Food was great, sommelier was great (he recommended a nice sake). However...the service then went rapidly downhill with multiple serving staff appearing at our table then vanishing in the blink of an eye. Enough to make your head spin. We felt rushed all throughout the meal by the waiter then weirdly after dessert - no one came to the table to check we wanted the bill. It was like they had given up trying to get the table back from us. I eventually had to accost someone to ask for the bill. Very odd!

During the meal my cousin ordered another bottle of sake which we were told "just takes 7 mins to heat up"...40 mins later we were still waiting despite having asked numerous staff to chase this up. My cousin was very grumpy by this point and so was I. When it eventually appeared, the explanation was that it had mistakenly been delivered to another table, been left sitting there - then when the mistake was realised, they had to heat it up again for us. We weren't too happy about having reheated sake that had been sitting as an open container on someone else's table, especially given the price. After a bit of haggling, they conceded a 50% discount off the price of one bottle.
Quite a disappointing service experience, which was a shame as the food, the sommelier, the sake and the design of the restaurant itself was really great. Let down by one or two waiters who acted like headless chickens.

I felt the service was not great at all- granted we were around 15 minutes late but it took almost 40 to have our orders taken. I must have asked for the vegetarian menu twice. We were then asked to move downstairs by the bar to finish off our meal as our 2 hours were up but we had not ordered until almost an hour in! Felt rushed and it felt rude for a restaurant that is supposed to be outstanding

Excellent food as usual. We will come back.
However if you can't serve the tasting menu within the 2 hours slot you are offering, you need to review either the menu or the slot but it can't be your client's fault. We have eaten at a good pace and have been asked to leave 5 times in 5 minutes, which really shouldn't happen when the problem is that you haven't served desert 5 minutes before the end of the slot.

Truly sensational experience yet again! second time to this restaurant and they never fail to impress me. Food yet again was a perfect balance of textures and flavors where the chef uses only the best products and ensures they are delivered in a way that enhances the quality of the raw ingredient. Truly awesome cooking. Great wine list also - had an amazing Chassagne-Montrachet!

Sake no Hana is a lovely place to take with a date, ambient is lovely, decor stunningly beautiful. We had the Autumn Leave menu, the courses were lovely, variety of texture, taste, combo, also sufficient veggie options to choose from.
The tables were a little too packed now, which was not ideal, but Sake no Hana was able to give us a table which has more space from the other tables.
We love the dining experience, from beginning to start, staff was attentive and proactive refilling out empty glasses etc. We will definitely return at least once a year to continue our tradition to dine here for our special occasion.

Was a bustling environment, food very expensive for what amount you actually get. Not a place for intimate dining, tables very close together, music and generally more of a bar vibe than a restaurant. But would recommend for with friends

Lovely Ambience. Great job with lighting and decor.

Service was quite attentive, and especially apologetic and action oriented when we had a small issue with our food.

Food however was not at the level expected for the price range.

Enjoyed our experience for date night, but would not visit again.

Lovely food although not the variety of other up market sushi dining experiences. Felt quite rushed by staff, 8pm booking and at 8.50 pm we were being told to get a move on as there was a 10 pm table booked!!!! Understandable at 9.50 pm but come on, set a bad tone quite early on. Staff generally lovely and ambience bustling.

I’ve been to this restaurant few years ago and it was very good. This time, the service was very slow. The food was not as good as it was before. We spent more than an hour awaiting for food to arrive. Two guests ordered a soup they received it with 40 mins interval. I wouldn’t recommend this place anymore.

In the middle of Mayfair, Sake no Hana looks amazing with it's lobby filled with plants and lights and its escalator to get to the dining room.
The dining room itself is even more beautiful with a complex set of blinds and ceiling structures.
we had the kaiseki tasting menu with beverage flight.
Pretty much everything was beautiful and the taste followed. I can't say I was blown away by anything though.
The service was a bit slow and the room is still a bit loud for a restaurant that expensive.
