Given the price (£900 for 6 people), I was expecting the experience to be out-of-this-world. It was okay.
Food was “normally-good” for this type of restaurant, but it wasn’t spectacularly great. We had the tasting menu, so I should have been a selection of the best dishes. Service was surprisingly so-so.
Time to serve food was long, especially for the dessert. It took them about 40 minutes to have our sorbet and cake served (a totally normal dessert that doesn’t require long preparation).
Also, it would have been good if every time we finished a bottle of water, they asked if we wanted more. But no, they just kept on opening and serving water, and at the end it was a looot of bottles charged.
The food just wasn't it, We ordered the Signiture menu, and we expected a memorable night. The night before we had dinner at Hakasan and the night before at Yauatcha. About the menu: it felt like we paid a lot of money for nothing at all. The sushi was ok , the steak was not good and the soup was dull. I would like to mention that the service was very good
I hope you improve until next time
The food was impeccable, surroundings were great. We got a bit of a snooty response when asking the sommelier about one of the food courses “I don’t handle the food, can you guess what my job is?” Whilst pointing at the grapes brooch on his lapel. Will definitely go back as the food is maybe the best Asian I’ve had in London, but the servers need to uo their game.
Food was ok, but unremarkable, nothing stood out. I had better, more memorable experiences from less swanky places
Boring food, hit and miss service. I've really disappointed
Tasting menu. All dishes exceptional bar maki which was OK but not wonderful. Aubergine and roasted sesame and fig brilliantly delicious. Toilets mysterious and like an episode of crystal maze to get in and out of. Lovely service. Thank you!
Set four course lunch @ £29 proved to be excellent value and surprisingly good. Miso soup followed by chilled noodles, sushi and finally teriyaki salmon - all washed down with a glass of prosecco. Delicious food served well.
Was lovely friendly service . Food was nice but not wow...overall a nice experience.
Food was good, except the salmon was a little on the dry side. The Taste of Sake no Hana menu which we had was excellent value for money.
The sushi chef experience was lovely, but the food overall falls flat compared to restaurants of the same level and budget.
Spicy tuna roll was over spicy and chili hot. After eating, your taste bud would be gone! Miso soup came very late after food finished and the taste was nothing! Conclusion: Westernized Japanese food. Total bill: £143 for one person with a 300ml saki.
Interesting use of space and first-floor location. High airy ceilings kept noise levels down. Long trip in lift to basement lavatories. Plenty of space between tables.
Willing and friendly staff, but service slowed as the evening went on - probably an overstretched kitchen, and as a result the meal took far too long. But - the food was delicious, well presented and ample. No complaints at all as to quantity or quality. And the set menus with wine pairings were good value..
Consistently excellent food and service; an elegant and serene oasis.
Great value for money 7 course tasting menu, nice ambience, friendly staff, beautifully presented food.
The service at Sake No Hana is amongst some of the best I have experienced in London. Informed, friendly and discreet. The welcome on entering the reception area downstairs is professional and I always feel that I am a priority and that my companions and I are well looked after. The food has always been to a high standard, beautifully cooked and exceptionally well presented. Sake No Hana offers a complete food experience and as such you should expect to pay a premium for it. When the food, service and atmosphere is so good who would have a problem with that? Utterly brilliant.
What a fantastic way to be introduced to the best of Japanese cooking.
Amazing service, food was quick and absolutely delicious! we will be back very soon! Highly recommend!
exquisite food, served with detailed and careful attention. we had a fabulous meal
Been here a few times now , food was and is always amazing . Unfortunately the service was very poor . Our waitress had a sense of humour bypass and was very surly when our guest tried to have a joke . Our wine waiter was terrible . We continually had to ask for wine to be poured, not expected when we had two bottles of expensive wine . Our bill was 450 pounds for three of us . I will try again because we did enjoy food and hope the staff have some more customer service training
Fantastic service and food. Large variety of vegetarian food. The food is beautifully presented and very tasty. It would be nice if the girls at the reception downstairs had genuine smiles on their faces...
A splendid space that serves great food more suited to an evening event than a business lunch due to void spaces and quiet feel. Their specialist menus serve fish and meat to a very high standard and the wine list is particularly well chosen.
From start to finish everything was brilliant very friendly knowledgeable staff, the food was out of this world, we had black cod, Wagyu hot pot and the king crab, the Wagyu was Incredible and the portions were a good size, cocktails were very good and pretty strong, can’t wait to go back again 10/10
Amazing venue. Amazing food. Quite expensive but still the best Japanese in London
I am a regular customer and loved this place. I have seen that they’ve had quite a high turnover in their sushi bar staff and the quality and the taste (particularly of the rolls) is not the same as it used to be.
Everything was perfect as usual.
Great restaurant, food was excellent along with the service. Would highly recommend this as a place to go and will be going back soon
I have been going to Sake No Hana for over a year and the portions have been reduced by half, while the prices have remained the same. The food that is served is good, and I wouldn’t mind if the prices were raised for the same amount of food, but it feels like they are trying to squeeze a little bit more from people who like me, have been going there once a week for a year.
I was left with a feeling of having been ripped off and not enjoyed my meal. Very disappointing, will not go again.
OK food - too overpriced and the service was poor. Staff were standing talking to each other. We were asked 4 times have we ordered or would we like to order - they were rushing us. Then when it came time to asking for the bill - the staff were no where and not attentive. Poor service which was a shame. Staff downstairs were nice and very friendly however on the floor were poorly trained and were not passionate at all.
The specialty nigiri was wonderful and each piece was loaded with unique, savory flavors that left me wanting more. Terrific and tranquil experience. Sake is amazing
kaiseki was gorgeous - we had a night to remember at sake no hana
Très bonne nourriture mais service mal coordonné
I booked this restaurant because I wanted to try a new place from my usual haunts, and I was really happy I tried it. The staff were friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Cocktails were amazing, especially the geisha one( can’t remember the exact name). Would definitely recommend and be back.
a bit pricy
service poor this time, but typically good
We ate at the Sushi Bar & loved all the special attention we received from the knowledgeable & friendly Sushi chefs!
Very slow and unattentive (bordering rude) service, especially at the bar and when we asked to pay. The food was just about okay, but nothing special (we had the set menu for 38£). The Angus beef was very tough and rather unpleasant to eat. The sushi was okay, so was the soup. I have eaten at Sake No Hana a couple of times before and was always very happy with both the service and the food, but this time they let us down. So, not quite sure if I return.
Really nice atmosphere, service and food very nice. Set menu very good value.
Went there with my dad and had the £56 tasting menu - absolutely phenomenal! The setting is lovely, very peaceful and quiet to allow for discussions (ideal for my dad who hates loud places), service is 10/10 with absolutely lovely waiting staff, and the food is of course out of this world! £56 proved to be very good value for money as we were really full by the end of the meal and everything was really tasty. Will definitely be coming again!
Fantastic value for such an amazing meal. 7 courses of delicious sushi paired with a cocktail and half a bottle of lovely champagne! What more could one ask for? Every course was delicious with the highlight being the Bamboo desert with a white chocolate ‘bamboo stick’, filled with white chocolate mouse and a mandarin sauce on a sesame crumb!! I didn’t manage to take a photo before cracking into the delicious dish!
Another excellent visit. The service rocks. The food is amazing.
