First time there, we went for lunch. Food delicious but pretty expensive; you're paying for the view. The staff couldn't have been more gracious and accommodating, they're all lovely. The only downside was the bullying valets who wouldn't let people self park at 10:30 am and insisted charging $6 in an empty parking lot.
Good location not great value
Too expensive ....not great value
Lovely view, great food and service! Food was hot and delicious! love all the boats and water views!
Hostess stand girls are awesome, location can’t be beat!
My meal was fabulous, my husband’s fish tacos were not and moco loco was pretty good. Service was definitely lacking, no refills, didn’t check with us, had to flag him down for requests and he seemed annoyed. That was unfortunate. But, would definitely return again.
We were a group of 5 celebrating a birthday. Most of the lunch appetizers and entrees were good, not great: omelette, tuna, grilled cheese and crab salad. Mine was not. Truly forgettable fish tacos. A friend and I ordered Bloody Marys and I can easily say it was the worst I’ve had. No one at the table ordered an additional drink. The service was not very good. They brought main courses without clearing the table (my pet peeve). We’d get dessert and no utensils. We had to ask twice. Also twice for salt and pepper. Prices were high based on what you get with a few surprises on the bill. We asks for bread when we sat down. We were told they only have a baguette (not on the menu) come to find out we were charged $10 for it. Also, the birthday chocolate cake for the birthday girl...yup! $11 on the check. The only saving grace is the view.
Friends getting together to celebrate birthdays. Menu was interesting collection, but something for everyone!
Tomato feta salad was the best we had. The Lobster Upon was bland. The needles over cooked. The lobster was prepared great.
The mussels were also bland.
Great vibe, view and yummy food. The Avocado Hummus is VERY yummy!
I love it here. It was my boyfriend's first time, and we had a beautiful evening. We sat outside on the patio and were well taken care of. The ambiance and the music at this hotel/restaurant is lovely. Parking is validated for valet at the restaurant. The service was great, and the food is really good, but is definitely on the price-ier side. You are definitely paying for the view/ambiance here, but trust me, its worth it.
Everyone loved their meal - 3 of us had the salmon and thought it was exceptional. The staff was super friendly and accommodated a vegetarian request. Never tasted veggies that yummy before! The sunset after the rain made for a lovely evening.
Dinner was amazing. We highly recommend the Shellfish/Seafood platter. After we ordered several tables also ordered. Our seating request was honored and best of all we received a lovely anniversary dessert. Thank you @saltmarinadelrey
Great location with a nice view of the harbor
The Service was awful, the food portions got a lot smaller and the food did not taste as fresh as it used to. My crab meat seemed as if it was just thawed from being frozen and had no taste. Our waitress hardly came by and we waited a very long time to place our order. Used to love coming here, but will not go again.
We were there on a Sunday afternoon, and the service was terrible to the extent of having to ask for a waiter. While the food was good the lack of presentation and the overpriced meal made this on whole a never go back experience.
Took 45m for food, thought it was overpriced for what it was.
Bachelor party dinner
Food was amazing! Sunset view outside was great! Great place for a special occasion or just to watch the sunset for happy hour/drinks.
Bar stools weren’t same level bizarre. Bartenders were great
Took forever to get seated an actual line. Took forever to clean our table. Person kept coming over wanting our wine list we hadn’t even ordered yet. Food was just ok pricey for value. $50 steak sandwich meat was super chewy
Overall need more staff and actual people who know the hospitality business
Beautiful sunset table. Very nice
Beautiful outdoor patio and food was very good but service was extremely slow.
It took a very long time to get our drinks, as well as our food, and a long time to get our checks.
Food was good quality but over priced.
I have run hot and cold with this restaurant since it opened. The biggest problem has been horrific service. The food is always amazing. Yesterday everything was fabulous from the professional, well dressed very pleasant hostess to the terrific service from Diana. This place is back on my list as a favorite.
There was nothing special about our meal, and the prices were far above what they should have been for the amount of food I received.
I think we all expected this to be a so,so, semi upscale, "beachy" kind of place. Service was kind of laid back, but nice. For being a busy Saturday night, lots of drinking, I have to say they did a pretty good job. Actually, better than expected.
FOOD WAS SURPRISINGLY GOOD!!! VERY GOOD!!!
The menu looks small and kind of basic, but everything we ordered was excellent ! I'm going back soon , with someone who loves Octopus. Salt serves theirs with roasted brussel sprouts and a really nice assortment of things that give different flavors with every bite. Really nice! The Salmon! I never order it , because I make a great Salmon . Their's is excellent! We also ordered corn raviolis and the Avocado hummus for a starter. The Hummus came with melt in your mouth grade, fresh baked pita as well as fresh and pickled veggies. You will have to pay for the baguette, but it's also strait out of the oven and well worth it. We (the three of us) shared all of the above, with 3 glasses of wine and 3 cups coffee/Late. Total bill: $193.00 including tax/tip. The only thing I would do different, is make the ravioli and baguette 2nd starters and serve the rest family style. Plenty for three. Make sure to sit outside, next to a fire place overlooking the bay! Love this place!
Meh pretty basic
Disappointing execution. Very slow service at both dinner and breakfast. (we were staying at the hotel) More than 10 minutes before our drink orders were taken, which is truly unacceptable for drip coffee at breakfast. The first three items we ordered at dinner were unavailable. We gave up and walked over to Cast & Plow.
Great experience and very delicious food.
I will definitely be going back.
Everything was fantastic. Our server Diana was professional and courteous and honored all of our requests. I highly recommend Salt restaurant for all of your dining out and entertaining needs. They also cater parties too! 😀👍🏻
Friends meeting for lunch, beautiful setting
Incredible food and a spectacular view of the Marina. Prices for mains are in the high 30s/mid-40s, but all 3 meals that we had (lobster pasta, salmon and a steak sandwich) were fantastic
We sat outside and had a full view of the boats in the harbor. The egg sandwich (‘breakfast in bread’ ) was delicious.
Love this place! Everything was amazing, minus the service.
Great location with wonderful scenery.
Bar side is more casual so it’s good for party or casual conversation with your family, friends, etc. Restaurant side seemed to cover a variety of situation from dating to even a business dinner. Not too casual but not too formal, and service was good. Staff were great as well. In addition to those living in LA, tourist could definitely enjoy a quality time in LA.
The food at ~40/entree was steep and I’ve had better. The options are a bit odd. A charbroiled cauliflower that tasted like it had been burned. I asked the waiter if the lobster dish was creamy and he said no. It was super creamy. Had I looked at the menu I never would have gone. Right on the water so views are spectacular. The tables for two may be 4-tops bc they’re too big to have a conversation if you’re across from each other. The water tasted like they’d pulled it from the marina. How about a filter? Some of the staff are quintessential Marina Del Ray pretentious. And it’s valet only when there was tons of parking in the lot. Really? The hostess was a doll but some others were far from it. Sadly, not going back.
Do you like blue sky, blue water, million dollar yachts, comfortable seating, fine wine and nice people? Well, Salt is for you!
Always an enjoyable time at Salt. Nice surroundings, excellent food and service.
We had a fantastic lunch for a friend's birthday. From the hostess to the waitress to the valet, everyone was so welcoming. They made the day perfect. Beautiful setting, really great food. We couldn't have asked for more.
My friend Jackie and I always come to Salt for our lunches. The only problem this time was that the kitchen was out of blue cheese for her Cobb Salad, which we found very odd for a restaurant/hotel of this caliber. And the waitress, for the first time, seemed a little non committal in working with us. But, honestly, nothing could spoil the over all experience. Next time I book, I'll just ask about the blue cheese availability! The Cobb is her absolute favorite!
All the food was amazing. The service even better. What a beautiful day on the Marina
I had a visit with my daughter and girlfriends reunion during the restaurant brunch hours. We had a large outdoor table with the view of the marina and yachts. Our server was beautiful Kyra. We had the most wonderful time, food was very fresh and delicious : SCOTTISH SALMON with potato puree, grilled asparagus, roast shiitake, salsa verde salmon with asparagus, ORGANIC GREENS CAESAR, garlic, lemon, toasted pine nuts, capers, COBB salad with| crispy chicken, smoked bacon, avocado, farm egg, seasonal tomato, edamame, blue cheese, pine nuts. For dessert we had chocolate flour-less chocolate cake with raspberries. We truly enjoyed every meal on the menu, including freshly baked bread. Ambiance was very nice, we took some spectacular pictures and promised each other to come back for another reunion.
Strongly recommend this place for special occasions!
The wait staff we had was not very obliging and fast order and out, maybe because we didn't order a bottle of wine, but did order 3 glasses after a bit.
