Salt Wine Bar

One of the best foodie experiences I have had in Toronto, bar none. Gnocci was amazing as was the spicy lamb meatballs and the buttermilk chicken. Great wine selection too. Highly recommend!

Salt wine bar is in a good location but the food is pretty overpriced for what it is. I think a little less cost in the food would balance out the pricier wines.

Service was great. Ambience was as good as it could be sitting at a small table outside. Food was very good as well. We had the cheese board, octopus and tomato dish. Would reccomend!

My partner and I came for our anniversary. It was our first visit to any restaurant since the pandemic shutdown and it was a fantastic experience. Food was incredible and the patio was surprisingly nice given that it was on the sidewalk on Ossington! Don’t miss the sliders they were absolutely incredible!

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we had an amazing time. The food and wine pairings were excellent. Perfect size sharing plates and great variety of Spanish and Portuguese wines. Will definitely be returning.

Absolutely fantastic service, food, and wine in a terrific space. Cocktails as well were beautifully done. Highly recommend.

We went on a Monday at 8pm and it was a bit quiet. The restaurant has a beautiful cellar style decor, wine line is excellent, everything we ate was delicious, especially loved the fried chicken (reminds me of the great fried chicken at Bar Fancy). It did get a bit busier but if anything was a turn off it was just the lack of clientele. Glad we gave it a try!

Food was amazing. Vibe was A+. Wine recco was STRONG. I would recommend to the judgeist of moms...... EAT THE SLIDER AND THE POTATOES!!

Excellent food but portions are small and expensive. It would be expensive to have a full meal here.

Salt is a great restaurant. The food is amazing, the service is wonderful but not cloying. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu items and the wine list. She was very helpful in guiding our wine choice to the perfect red for our tastes and the food. Highly recommended!

Loved the spicy meatballs and the steak. Wish the service was a little warmer.

The food is outstanding. Every dish we had was excellent, but the octopus, prime rib and pate really stood out. Very good service, lovely ambiance and not loud at all.

Overall really great night. Amazing tapas- the pork belly was incredible. Great wine list as well. I would say it was a place I would 100% go back too! Not a cheap date but worth it.

Though the wine is excellent and the food flavourful, it's not worth the price for the tiny amount you get. Servers were attentive, but a little too much as they come around to fill your wine after every sip. This got a little annoying as it cut into conversation at the table. It got to the point where servers had to be told by my table that we would just pour our own wine. Refilling a glass before it's empty is a great practice, but not every two seconds.

Perfect size plates of tapas to share that were mouth wateringly delicious. An extensive wine list with a server who was happy to help make a selection in our budget. A warm wood space with low lighting perfect for a cold January Sunday night.

We were advised by the server to order 5 tapas for 2 and I think it was just okay. If you have a person in your party who normally consumes more food you would need to order more. The quality of the food was inconsistent. I felt that there were not enough pepper in one dish, and then not enough salt in the other. The best dish that I had was the scallop which was done just right.
Also, we were not told in advance that we would need to pay $6 for the bottle of water that we got. We asked for plain simple water. And when the server said she would bring us a bottle, we didn't know that she would bring one that we would have to pay for it later. The server should have asked us more questions to make sure the bottle was exactly what we would want.
I will not visit the restaurant again, unfortunately.

Overal it was lovely. Great food , polite service good recommendations on food. They do need to slow down a bit with the wine pouring though, I like to drink at my own pace not one comparable with a frat party !!

It was a bit irritating that there were zero descriptions of any of the wine. My table of six had to look up the wines on lcbo to make a choice.

Very noisy

Our experience at Salt was good. This was my second experience with tapas style food and the portions at your restaurant were much more satisfying. The food was delicious and beautifully accompanied by sauce or vegetable where appropriate. Wine selection was lovely if a bit pricey.
