Absolutely fantastic food & service , will return when back on the Island .
Eaten here before. Food excellent, service was prompt , professional and above all, efficient.
Always come to the Salty Dog when in Jersey...good food and good service
Second visit to Jersey & second visit to salty dog, would definitely go again, brilliant food and a lovely atmosphere
Party of 6 came for birthday celebrations 4 had been last year so brought some friends who absolutely loved it like us from starters through to puddings everything was beautifully presented tasted amazing and look forward to coming back next year
We had been looking for a seafood restaurant & fell upon this whilst walking around the harbour area. We booked it for the following evening & was not disappointed! It was difficult to choose as the menu was excellent, but in the end I plumbed for the moules mariniere as a starter & my husband had scallops with belly pork. For mains I had ‘surf & turf’ which was delicious & my husband had ‘posh’ fish & chips which he thoroughly enjoyed. We couldn’t manage a pudding but again there was an excellent choice. I would definitely recommend eating here, the food was perfect & the staff were lovely.
We regularly return to the Salty Dog when on holiday in Jersey and always find the food and atmosphere well worth returning for. The staff are friendly but a point of note this time ( and on a previous occasion ) was the table service. The 2 steaks that were ordered on our table of 5 arrived first, with no accompaniments. We then had to wait well over 5 minutes for the bowls of chips and salad, during this this time our fellow 3 diners received their full meals ( which included chips ) but they then felt obliged to wait.
Once a service of each course commences at a table then this needs to be done more efficiently.
This was a lovely evening, with only one fault, the time we waited for our order to be taken/asking for the bill. Other than that it was a lovely evening and we will be back again soon.
Great food and excellent atmosphere in a beautiful town.
Great food, great cocktails, great service - what more could you ask for on a raining Saturday afternoon. Will be back soon.
Amazing food and amazing service as always. One of my favourite places to eat
Amazing food and great service. Catering for my unusual diet requests was no bother for them at all! So many options on the menu that looked so lovely so can’t wait to go back and try more! Loads of gluten free options and a separate vegetarian menu which looked good even from a meet eaters perspective!
It was a great evening, great food, great company.
Excellent food and a lovely setting, will definitely return next time we visit Jersey
Booked in for my wife's birthday during a short stay in Jersey. The menu appealed to us when we researched the Internet so we managed to book ahead. We were certainly not disappointed. The food was fabulous and the resteraunt was full and buzzing with atmosphere. My wife had the lobster and king prawns and I had the reef and beef.....both amazing ! We could not believe we had found a place with such tasty food. We also ate in our hotel as well as other restaurants in Vacinity but these didn't come anywhere close to this little gem. I would certainly return and will highly recommend to others. Made my wife's birthday very memorable. Thank you to the staff at the Salty Dog and especially the excellent kitchen staff.
Always lovely coming to the Salty Dog and the lovely Liz Jenner makes one so welcome. I was here this time for a business meal with colleagues from the UK who were very impressed, one in particular as she is gluten intolerant and said the gluten free roll was the best she had ever had!
A restaurant worthy of its reputation. Great cocktails, exciting and beautifully prepared food delivered by attentive and friendly staff.
The food was amazing as always but we did find it to be very expensive. The bill was around £80 a head. There are other places on the island which service food of the same high quality but aren't as pricey. I think the wine is where you really have to be careful. £50 for 2 courses per head and then another £30-£40 for a half decent bottle of wine and you're soon in the big money.
We went here on a cold night and sadly the restaurant was extremely
cold inside and many diners had their coats on all night during dinner, including us. The heating was on we were told but it did spoil the ambience and overall experience. It was a birthday treat so a bit disappointing. The food wasn’t quite as good as it used to be and the wine list was limited.
The food and service was very good. However it was cold in the restaurant, there were two ladies who kept going outside for a smoke and every time they re entered the restaurant there was a blast of icy air which made it feel uncomfortable.
Both our starters and mains were a tad over-cooked and, hence, a little dry. We mention tye time and the chef apologised. The flavours were superb, however.
Atmosphere was quiet (a cold Sunday evening, so not at all surprising) but the previous evening (Saturday) when I booked, it was heaving and buzzing.
I would go back.
Have been here every time we come to jersey the food is amazing and would highly recommend it
We had not eaten at the Salty Dog for some time and so were very pleasantly surprised by the standard of the cuisine and the vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant even though it was a Thursday evening.
We have more or less decided that we will make our visits a more regular occurrence from now on, as it was a good experience.
Had a lovely evening at the salty dog once again it was my 28th birthday with Domenic close friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food I also was given a complimentary glass of wine which was so kind! Staff very helpful and friendly - great place great vibe , always a good calm relaxing atmosphere . always will be my favourite place for any dinner occasion will be back soon.
I had the most wonderful lobster and crab bisque with a hidden surprise - 2 delicious lobster ravioli parcels st the bottom. This was followed by moules which can be cooked 2 ways - your choice. I had the Thai style.
The service was very friendly and when I accidentally left my phone there, Roxanna very kindly kept it safe for me in their safe until I could retrieve it the next day. (Thanks so much). All in all - I highly recommend the salty dog for good food and friendly service. They also cater for large parties and celebrations .
Very enjoyable meal. Friendly service. We had various dietary requirements which were all catered for.
You restricted your offer of ‘buy a main course and get one free’ which was not mentioned in your advertising or on your website...probably misadvertising going on there. 75% of the menu was not available to us.
Your tables are too closely packed to enjoy a meal in comfort.
The room is so cold that my wife kept her scarf on.
Despite having sufficient staff, apparently only one of them is capable of writing a food order.
The meal was well cooked and tasty but we didn’t bother to order a desert or coffee so your master plan worked against you as we would have spent double.
Won’t be rushing back.
This is a regular restaurant for us and we visit every few weeks or more, the food is fantastic, steak, seafood or both and with a great atmosphere and service, we can't go anywhere else, as we just love it.
Our favourite dishes are Seafood risotto or tiger prawns to start and reef & beef, curry or anything for main, everythings great,
A relaxed atmosphere with helpful smiling staff and great vegetarian food.
A very enjoyable experience in every respect, excellent food and great service, a must visit when we visit Jersey.
Food was outstanding as always. Shame the front of house is very rude and only seems to acknowledge the ‘regulars’
Wonderful restaurant - it's one of my favourite restaurant's in Jersey. Howrever you have to try it yourself in order to make your own mind up and I believe you won't be disappointed 😀.
We had a fantastic evening again, stunning food, great wine, great atmosphere.. We had to wait a little while to order but after that the food came fairly quickly. They even have a children's menu which my daughter really enjoyed. Right down to the bread selection all food was amazing. Great, friendly staff. Well worth going to St Aubins for, we'll definitely be back..
Our experience was perfect in every way.
As was our first experience last year.
Fab food and really made NYD special for a family of 4. Great choice for kids too
New Year's Eve food was exceptional as it was earlier in the year. A must visit if you are in town.
Superb food, so good we cancelled our other reservation and we went 2 nights on the run
We had a lovely meal, the service was great, well worth the money
The Salty Dog is always wonderful but I thought they excelled themselves this time. The food was particularly excellent and the staff could not have been more accommodating when we through some odd drink requests their way. Superb menu, the fusion surf and turf options make for such a nice change to the usual restaurant faire. Can't recommend it enough.
Usually you can expect a reasonable meal here but on this occasion the food was nothing special, service was poor & the restaurant cold. Not what we have come to expect.
