We love this place and the food but it is spoiled by the front door not closing properly. It is very drafty and cold especially in this weather
Excellent service, excellent wine and great food. A good, authentic Italian.
Wonderful experience from start to finish, food, service ambiance all excellent
Balloon, birthday banner ,surprise birthday cake and singing celebration for my wife’s birthday
Can’t speak highly enough, will definitely go again
Excellent place, staff, food, service and price - we’ll be back :)
Absolutely amazing food!!!! Can’t wait to go back already!!
Lovely staff and good food with a great range of choices and quality Italian ingredients. A great reliable City Centre go-to without the bland / chain or extreme prices of many other places. Cosy and friendly, we went with a wondering 1 year old and it was great.
We went for lunch to celebrate sons 26th birthday. When we arrived they had decorated the table which was a nice touch. The food was of a great standard in a friendly atmosphere- we will certainly eat here again and would be happy to recommend.
What an amazing little restaurant. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, with food that was incredibly tasty and excellent quality. If you want a true authentic Italian restaurant with excellent staff and cosy atmosphere please visit.
Great Italian food, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Will definitely go back
Disappointing. Booked as my wife and daughter are both mozzarella- lovers. The mozzarella was good in places and disappointing in others. The Carpaccio was good, but the rest was just ok. Service was a little slow and unfriendly - very "un-Italian". Will not be going back, because had the look of being very good.
I came here on Valentine's Day after reserving a table. We got served quickly which was great, but the menu didn't have a wide range of pasta dishes. I don't like seafood or red meat, and the only pasta dishes they had were seafood or sausage. When asking for a pasta dish without seafood in, I got a disgusted look off the waiter. The portion size of the main was massive so I can't complain about that. As well as this, a waiter put down a glass of wine on our table, when saying I didn't order wine his reply was "it's nice, enjoy", I thought maybe they gave me a glass of wine for free as I reserved a table and it was Valentine's Day. Although, when half way through drinking it, the same waiter came over and took the glass from me insisting he gave it to the wrong table, then gave it to another woman although I had drank some of it and the glass had my lipstick marks on it. I think for me to come back again they'd need to improve their menu and employ friendlier staff.
Authentic Italian cuisine delicious would definitely eat there again very romantic
Always a warm welcome at the Cucina, food excellent and service attentive
Very good and authentic Neopolitan style pizza. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice relaxing evening.
Fantastic Italian food, far removed from the usual franchises in Manchester. This is a local restaurant serving authentic dishes (octopus, smoked mozzarella etc.). Great service, very attentive, beautiful food, good portion size, great for families, couples or friends. Lots of Italians in to dine while we was there, which is always a good sign.
The team at Salvi’s were very welcoming and for my brother’s birthday had decorated the table with balloons and banners - a great touch that was a lovely surprise. The food and service were exceptional.
As usual excellent authentic Italian food. The pasta is always fabulous.
A firm favourite.
Excellent find ... the food was the best Italian that I have had outside of Italy. Staff were attentive & friendly, wine good, nice ambience. Well worth a visit
Everything was perfect!!!
We sent a pre- order and when we arrived at the restaurant the food was ready.
The staff was very friendly and helpfull
Dined at 5pm so not many folks there and I would imagine it would be a bustling scene when full. Love the food here as it is as good as authentic Italian as you can get. Casual dining. Not sure about veggie status though.
Overall a good experience being our first time. Will try again.
Fab as always! Beautiful food great atmosphere, we dine late Saturday afternoon and it was perfect
Lovely food but staff weren’t too friendly and a bit rude when we asked what something was. But very good pizza.
The food was reasonable but nothing special. The pizza dough was quite thick and the aubergine under cooked. However, the wine as good quality. Not enough vegetarian and healthy options on the menus. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and the service is good.
I went for a family birthday having been once before there was a lovely atmosphere the food was very well cooked and tasty the staff were very pleasant and helpful good service and value for money
my absolute favourite Italian in Manchester, amazing food every time
Booked this place at the last minute and wasn’t disappointed. Portion sizes are generous. Pizza was delicious.
Great food, Great service, excellent experience as usual
Salvi’s is a really good place to eat. Great food and very good service. We really enjoyed it and will definitely return.
Great food and service with friendly, helpful staff. The dishes taste fresh and are full of flavour. Pizza bases are delicious - a combination of being crisp yet chewy, and airy and light. I would recommend this place to anyone for any occasion.
Delicious AUTHENTIC italian food . Quickly served and reasonably priced. Service was alright although the waitresses didn't really seem to enjoy themselves. I've actually not seen either of them smile once. Zero personal contact with guests. However , they were polite and prompt which is all you need really. The guy who I reckon is the owner was nice too. I would definitely reccomend to everyone who loves good italian food.
Very friendly service and great food. Went there for a New Year's Eve dinner and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. Great for a date or a special occasion dinner. Would recommend!
Disappointed with the evening. Originally there were 4 people but one couple dropped out due to sickness. I advised the restaurant before we arrived. When we arrived we were given a table directly at the door which was freezing so we asked did they have a different table. At first it was a flat no we were then offered a table which was for 4 away from the door but told we had to vacate by 7pm this was around 6.10pm! Finally a couple were leaving and we were given their table. Not the best start. I ordered cod to start which was way over cooked my husband had the veg stack with cheese which was nice. We ordered bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, it arrived......bread sticks croutons and three slices of bread. I have never before had breadsticks or croutons served with balsamic and olive oil.
The main courses were OK .
Whilst we were in the restaurant several people arrived. One couple had booked and when the , I presume owner/manager realised he knew them, they were given the table we were offered until 7pm at 6.45 just ahead of a party of 4 who arrived at7pm.
We paid the bill and in honesty could not wait to leave. This was New Years Eve and any other night we would have left before we even ordered. The most disappointing thing was that this place had been recommended and I felt that the staff were well aware of our disappointment but no one seemed too bothered.
Great night ,definitely the best pasta in Manchester ,good wine list as well ,really enjoyed it would reccomend it to anyone
One of Manchester’s hidden gems, but right under everyone’s noses! The food is excellent, the best Italian in Manchester alongside Sugo. Admittedly, it doesn’t have the glamour of a Piccolinos or San Carlo, but with food as good as this why would you care? High quality service too from a team who are there to make your meal a comfortable experience. Bravo!
So good best Italian in Manchester
So I saved this place for last as I could see it highly recommended. Booking it for the three of us on a Wednesday night was a wise decision. It's not the biggest of places and it was packed with italians..I took this to be a good sign.
Two of us arrived on time to be seated at a table which was near the bar / open kitchen . At my back was the door which would remain open most of the night due to human traffic much to our annoyance.
While we waited for third to join we shared the antipasti for one at 14 quid. I found this to have little meat..some unpleasant cheese and breadsticks..not the best. The mojito I ordered was tasty but served in a rather short glass.
When our third party decided to join us we ordered soup of the day (fish soup for a tenner) focaccia and cheese in breadcrumbs.
My soup was not very soup like and had some mussels..one large prawn and mainly squid.. disappointing. My friends foccacia bread just looked like bread ..and they kept taking the balsamic away.
For mains I had tuna steak which I requested it specifically to be pink in the middle..it was far from it .but moist...my friends carbonarra looked ok and seafood pasta.
I had to explain awhat a liquere coffee was but it eventually arrived afterwards which was okay.. and the profiterols were the only thing left on the menu for desserts which was concealed by squirty cream.
I found the service hit and miss..the food average for the price and the door being left open all the time annoying. Also the way they kept taking stuff off our table without an explanation..I paid 56 quid for my meal alone. I found Giorgos far more superior and paid near that for two people.. unfortunately I won't be back here.
Very welcoming, great service, tasty food. Would definitely recommend! Thanks guys
Unfortunately, we did not dine here - after being shown to our table. The reasons were personal - we could not judge the restaurant based on its food , only to say we thought that the seating was poor (kitchen type chairs and uncomfortable - we are in our 60's and looking for complete comfort at our table !) there was a lot fish and seafood and unsure as to what we were going to get. No spaghetti alla Bolognese or Lasagne to judge this restaurant for the first time! Whenever I try an Italian establishment - their Lasagne is a great indicator as to whether the restaurant is is good, bad or indiferent. Suffice to say, we left, alas...
Attentive friendly service and authentic italian food - great place to meet friends and family
