This was our first visit to this great restaurant and it will not be our last. The food was excellent and the service matched. We were seated on time and the pasta we had was the best we have ever eaten. The staff were very friendly and it felt very Italian. You can only get this in a small family owned restaurant.
Ottima pizza sia per qualità degli ingredienti che per cottura.
Tra i dessert consiglio i cannoli, forse da migliorare il tiramisù.
Nel complesso un vero ristorante italiano nel cuore di Manchester.
This restaurant has become our place to eat whenever we visit Manchester. The food is truly amazing. I can say without a doubt that the restaurant serves the most authentic and delicious Italian cuisine I have ever eaten in this country....and I have eaten in a lot of Italian restaurants. Well worth a visit.
Good food, good wine. Nice atmosphere. Staff heplful and attentive.
Fantastic time, great meal, lovely service
What more can you say
The food was delicious and the service was excellent
We were a party of four on an occasional get together of old friends and work colleagues. The starters were generally good but the main courses were poor, one meal (kalamari) seeming to be only partly cooked and another, the mushroom risotto, having a semi-congealed or "glazed" appearance and seeming to contain an excessive use of saffron which gave it a bleach-like taste. The staff were attentive when these issues were raised and offered replacement meals, which were politely declined as the starters had been quite filling and we did not wish to wait longer. We were given complimentary coffee and were not charged for the two meals in question, although the whole experience was disappointing. We usually go to Gino D'Acampo's and tried Salvi's for a change, but will not be doing so again.
It was boss
Great place been before. Shame the kitchen caught fire during starters and we had to evacuate..
Booked a table for 9 people. When we arrived. We were informed there was no doe left for pizza/ bread etc.
Bad that a pizza place has no pizza !!
I don’t like giving bad reviews but I can’t say too much about this place. Reservations don’t matter, they take walk-ins ahead of you. Service was slow, even by European standards, waiters were confused and food was mediocre. Maybe they just had an off night.
We had a lovely evening with great food and drinks. Thank you!
This restaurant is a firm favourite of mine and I therefore chose to come here for my graduation meal, the waiter was very attentive and the food was excellent as always.
Very average. Disappointed after reading good reviews. Starters and sharing plates overpriced. Carbonara not nice at all. Drinks very expensive
Awesome food as always. Service average. But it the food you go for. Double check your bill as every time I have been they have added something I haven't had!
Everything was fine. Good food. Very kind service.
Good wine and great location.
We had a place outside in the terrace with the hot and light was really nice we enjoyed a lot
First time visit from Leeds. Fantastic evening, atmosphere & delicious pizza & pudding. Cannot wait to return x
I have been to Salvis a number of times and the food is always excellent, great portion sizes, authentically neapolitan. It was a sunny day and so I think they were much busier upstairs than usual but unfortunately this meant that the service was much less attentive that I am used to. Never rude but very slow with long waits to get menus, order mains and deserts. I would always recommend it as a place for great food though.
A great meal enjoyed by everyone, a shared platter of mozzarella and cured meats breads and olives was outstanding and the pizzas were incredible, the service was attentive but not overbearing. A| most enjoyable afternoon lunch with friends.
The vibe was nice but didn't really rate the food (maybe because it was a busy day?) I asked for Vegetarian pizza without cheese- but it had cheese on some areas and was very doughy. Also lacked any aubergine?Friend ordered Pasta con Salsiccia- it was a very small portion containing 3 pieces of sausage. (Other friends ordered sea food pastas which seemed significantly larger for similar price- lacking consistency with portion sizing overall) . The pannis and apperetto drinks looked appetising but did not order these.
All staff were friendly and welcoming but needed prompting for drinks orders and spoons/milk for coffees. The Deli upstairs has a nice feel to it and the deli options all looked tasty. Mixed feelings towards the restaurant - bit hit and miss but it was a busy day which should be taken into consideration.
Very nice restaurant, just keep your eye on the bill, only after we left we found we were charged for two drinks we didn’t have. May have been an accident booking agains the wrong table
We found this place by accident on a previous visit to Manchester when seeking a meal before a concert. What a hidden gem!!
The food is to die for and is the most authentic Italian food we have eaten anywhere in the country. The staff take great pride in what they serve. Whenever we visit Manchester now, we always reserve an online booking in advance. Looking forward to our next trip.
Great experience. Been here a few times now and it never disappoints. We went to celebrate Fathers Day and a Birthday. We were given a little private table inside the wine cellar which was lovely. Food and service were fantastic. We had a sharing platter to start, they allowed us to order this and then after a break order mains so we were not rushed in any way. Waiting staff could not have been more helpful. Even though some of the waiting staff had minimal English they did their best to engage with us. We had to ask to turn the music down slightly as it was a bit too loud inside the small room and also the music could have been a little better chosen (it was almost like a foreign dance music, really could do with something a little more relaxing) but did not take away too much from the overall experience. We will definately be back and and will recommend.
We visited Salvis for the first time on Saturday prior to going to a gig. The restaurant was very busy, but we were served in reasonable time and the food was lovely. There was a busy but pleasant atmosphere and we all really enjoyed the experience. I had the Italian sausage with caponata which was delicious. Would happily recommended, and would go again when visiting Manchester.
Absolutely love this restaurant. Friendly staff, greasy atmosphere, authentic, you can even buy the wines and other food products from the deli. From the outside looks like a deli with outdoor seats, but downstairs 👏👏👏👏. They also have a prosecco bar in the exchange building which is fab too. Highly tecommeddd.
Food was fabulous and plentiful. Great selection. The place was lovely and cosy and the service was great. Watch out the starters are huge.
The food was oh such a high quality and found it very authentic napalese food. Anyone who goes there must try the mozzarella and experience what real mozzarella should taste like. Incredible flavour in all the dishes ordered and would recommend the seafood rissoto for those who like the flavour of the sea.
Unfortunately the waiter spilt a whole mug of hot coffee down me to end the meal and only took the coffee off the bill. I had expected slightly more compensation, considering I had to walk away from the meal with coffee stained shorts, after drying them in the toilet for 5 minutes, leaving the experience a bit flat.
Authentic Italian cuisine and staff. I've given 4 stars for the ambience as I would have preferred traditional Italian music to be played.
Amazing city centre setting. Opportunity to sit outside and take in the Manchester sights on a glorious sunny day. Restaurant inside is gorgeous and designed to a hip and trendy standard. Cosy and candle lit so perfect for a get together. Food was gorgeous, the mozzarella board was the best I’ve ever tasted. An Italian restaurant run by Italians, what more could you ask for. I’ll definitely be going back. 5 stars!
Got a real soft spot for this place, but we were kept waiting absolutely ages last weekend. We thought it was because the place was busy, but turns out our mains order hadn't been sent through to the kitchen. Good job we'd had the mozzarella platter to satisfy our hunger pangs. And we weren't charged for our drinks by way of apology.
Very good food and it was lovely to be able to sit outside. Very friendly staff. The restaurant was very busy. I would happliy eat there again.
As always, a great experience - good service, ambience and fantastic food.
Amazing food. Amazing staff. Amazing restaurant. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going back.
I have been to Salvi’s Mozzarella Bar on a number of occasions now. The food is excellent and the service is friendly. It is reasonably priced and the atmosphere is typically Italian. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion. Can also treat yourself to things from the deli upstairs after your meal.
Went on a date and although I was slightly late, the staff issued my date with a complimentary glass of wine. Service was smooth quick and efficient. Food was amazing. Pleasantly surprised when I received the bill. All good and I’ll be returning
The most authentic Italian food I have found in Manchester! The lunch offer of a mozzarella tasting board with any pizza or pasta plus a glass of prosecco for £14.95 was amazing. I had the vongole and finished every last bit of it, can’t wait to return.
We had a great evening with great food and service - all 7 of us was happy. We will absolutely come back when travelling to Manchester next time.
Excellent food and atmosphere. We really enjoyed it and I will be back
We came upon salvos by chance, when we were just in the area, and thought it looked good so gave it a try. Overall it was excellent, unfortunately one of our meals was cold but was quickly and efficiently rectified. We'll go again
Great food and service best place to eat in Manchester
