Service disappointing and slow, risotto mushy and in need of salt, parma ham on pizza chewy. When waiter eventually came to ask what we wanted on dessert menu and we asked for tiramasu, he told us it was not available - would have appreciated knowing that when we were first given menu which only had five choices.
Food great, but service slow. They didn’t come for a drinks order and when he came for food then took drinks order, but we’re a long time coming. We asked for jug water which wasn’t sent until we had to ask again. Food great though, and will give it another go. Bit disappointed though coz we’d raved about Salvi’s to our friends and then felt a bit let down
Wonderful freshly made Italian food, incredibly reasonably priced and good wine list too - highly recommend
it was a busy restaurant (and a Saturday night) but we were attended to in a prompt manner. Food was tasty and not overpriced. We both had steaks and were very impressed. My fillet was well good and not a pick of fat on it. We both had dessert which was lovely. I wasn't drinking as I had a race the next day but my husband had a glass of red which he said was very nice.
Had a wonderful time. Good wine list and the food was delicious. Had the goats cheese and pancetta to start which just set the tone for the whole meal. Great service and a lovely warm, authentic, relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again.
The food is amazing and the mozzarella out of this world. They need to work on their service to make this experience amazing - it’s really the only thing they fall down on.
Food was good, if a little expensive. One of the main dishes failed to arrive and when this was raised to the waiting staff we received an insincere apology. Only when this was raised to the manager when he came over to check how the food was did anything happen. Disappointed.
Food fab, nice and busy atmosphere, service just a bit slow with a 10 min wait for 1 meal after others had come out , forgot garlic bread, but waiters were nice and friendly and I would definitely go back.
Booked table for four which was ready on arrival, staff very attentive. Food was delicious and red wine, with hint of licorice, was divine and recommended by waiter. Sweets were lovely. Thank you all xx
This was our second visit to Salvi's based off our first visit we were looking forward to eating here again for an early dinner before heading to a concert at the Manchester arena. We were promptly sat at our table and the waiter took drinks orders. Drinks came out with 2 drinks missing from the order. Had to prompt a second time for the missing drinks which when they came there was then more that we ordersed. Starters arrived without any issue. When it came to the main course 2 of the 4 meals came out together, with the third arriving 5 minutes earlier, when questioning on how long the fourth would be it turns out that the chef never received the order which would have been down to the waiting staff not paying attention, no real apology for the mistake that had been made. On request of the bill the extra drinks that we didn't order had been added to the bill even though at the time they arrived we informed the waiter that it was incorrect. Overall not a great experience from a service perspective but the food was good and on that alone we would likely return.
My partner & I visited this restaurant last Sunday on the recommendation of a friend. We went for the Sunday lunch menu because at £26 for 2 it looked good value. Sadly the mains choices was limited to 2 very bland & unappetising pasta dishes! The wine was overpriced and we were disappointed with the whole meal - not good value at all for what we had! The service was good however. Unfortunately neither of us wants to return. My advice is don't choose the Sunday lunch menu & salvia you need to consider what you need to give your diners in a highly competitive market - special offers shouldn't compromise quality nor value.
The setting and the food are excellent, unfortunately the service did not match it.
We were promptly seated then forgotten. After a considerable time we had to attract the attention of a waiter and ask for a menu.
As previously mentioned the food that was served was excellent, we had to ask for more drinks and after plates were taken away there was no offer of desserts or coffee so gave up and left.
We would return because of the food and hope the service was having an off day.
Excellent food, very good wines, charming service, real Italian style (and I am really critical), a must in town
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food and friendly staff.
Service can be a little slow but everything else makes up for that.
Fast becoming my favourite place to eat in Manchester!
Great place to go as a group. Food was tasty and a good selection
Salvi’s had been recommended to us and was as good as we hoped it would be - will definitely be back
The pizzas were good apparently. Both the pasta dishes were served only fairly hot on cold plates and quickly became too cold to enjoy. We thought they also lacked flavour but that may have been due to the temperature.
As always, Salvi's never disappoints. Amazing food, great service. One of the best Italian places in Manchester.
Fantastic service and wonderful food . Will definitely go back.
Love this place, visited three times now and the food has been exceptional each time. The only reason I gave four stars for most is that unfortunately the drinks took a long time to be delivered to our table once ordered and we had to ask twice for the drinks. The service for the food was excellent. Overall this is a real gem of restaurant and even has its own deli counter so you can purchase some of the food. I bought some of the smoked mozzarella which is the best I have ever tasted!
Second time eating here, and not disappointed. The food is consistently good. One or two minor niggles - the food was a little slow to arrive (although we may have been a bit over-sensitive to that as we were due at a concert so didn’t want to be late); there wasn’t any skimmed milk for skinny lattes, but these are minor details. Four of us ate, and we each really enjoyed high quality pasta main courses. Would definitely come here again. Sat in the back section, which is better (for us at least), as it’s a little quieter.
Very tasty food. Didn’t seem to know about our booking but wasn’t too busy so got a table anyway.
Some issues as the waitress couldn’t speak English or understand what we were asking for on the menu.
Our second visit, thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you very much for letting us sit on the table at the back of the restaurant. Fantastic service from our waiter we will be back soon.
I have been to Salvi's many times and usually have nothing but nice things to say about the place.
Unfortunately this trip was disappointing. Food was okay but the service was lacking... Mix up with wines, confusion over the order and just generally a bit chaotic. Sorry Salvi's, wasn't blown away this time.
Very good and quick service which was what we were looking for as we were eating before going to see a musical at the Opera House. Food ws very good especially the mixed starter which we ordered for 4 to feed our party of 6, there was more thn enough and the smoked mozzerella was fantastic.
This was our first visit to this great restaurant and it will not be our last. The food was excellent and the service matched. We were seated on time and the pasta we had was the best we have ever eaten. The staff were very friendly and it felt very Italian. You can only get this in a small family owned restaurant.
Ottima pizza sia per qualità degli ingredienti che per cottura.
Tra i dessert consiglio i cannoli, forse da migliorare il tiramisù.
Nel complesso un vero ristorante italiano nel cuore di Manchester.
This restaurant has become our place to eat whenever we visit Manchester. The food is truly amazing. I can say without a doubt that the restaurant serves the most authentic and delicious Italian cuisine I have ever eaten in this country....and I have eaten in a lot of Italian restaurants. Well worth a visit.
Good food, good wine. Nice atmosphere. Staff heplful and attentive.
Fantastic time, great meal, lovely service
What more can you say
The food was delicious and the service was excellent
We were a party of four on an occasional get together of old friends and work colleagues. The starters were generally good but the main courses were poor, one meal (kalamari) seeming to be only partly cooked and another, the mushroom risotto, having a semi-congealed or "glazed" appearance and seeming to contain an excessive use of saffron which gave it a bleach-like taste. The staff were attentive when these issues were raised and offered replacement meals, which were politely declined as the starters had been quite filling and we did not wish to wait longer. We were given complimentary coffee and were not charged for the two meals in question, although the whole experience was disappointing. We usually go to Gino D'Acampo's and tried Salvi's for a change, but will not be doing so again.
It was boss
Great place been before. Shame the kitchen caught fire during starters and we had to evacuate..
Booked a table for 9 people. When we arrived. We were informed there was no doe left for pizza/ bread etc.
Bad that a pizza place has no pizza !!
I don’t like giving bad reviews but I can’t say too much about this place. Reservations don’t matter, they take walk-ins ahead of you. Service was slow, even by European standards, waiters were confused and food was mediocre. Maybe they just had an off night.
We had a lovely evening with great food and drinks. Thank you!
This restaurant is a firm favourite of mine and I therefore chose to come here for my graduation meal, the waiter was very attentive and the food was excellent as always.
Very average. Disappointed after reading good reviews. Starters and sharing plates overpriced. Carbonara not nice at all. Drinks very expensive
Awesome food as always. Service average. But it the food you go for. Double check your bill as every time I have been they have added something I haven't had!
