Seated right away. Food was amazing! Service was good and attentive.
We ate her before going to the BSO. Service was great; the food, not so much. Bread and dressing were excellent, as was the Arugala Salad. The Pasta Carbonara had a sauce that was much too thick and not very appetizing. My friend had the Crab Toast which was just okay. It appeared to be served on white sandwich bread cut into triangles. The Cannoli we shared was very good.
We enjoyed a delicious meal as usual. Italian only better!
Sammy's is our go-to pre-theater restaurant. The food is always great and the staff is always so friendly and attentive!
Great food! Lovely wait staff.
Love this restaurant. Great food, great service. Best Italian around!!
Our waiter was very nice, but it took over an hour to get our meal. We come before a show at the Meyerhoff, and usually get out in time. This time, the people around us who arrived after us, were served well before us, even though we ordered our meal before them. He did offer to bring us a salad because we were waiting so long.
We always have a nice meal at Sammy's before going to the Meyerhoff. The service is excellent and the food is even better! Great selection of Italian food and also a nice selection of wine. Overall we had another very enjoyable evening at Sammy's.
Great spot! Referred by a resident of the area. Server was terrific especially considering we were a group of 9. Server was accosting to each person’s choices and got it all correct and with a smile.
Fun atmosphere! Suggest you try it if you are looking for great Italian foods!
My favorite restaurant in Baltimore for entertaining friends and clients! Sammy's team is 1st class and the food is exceptional.
Very welcoming, had us seated right away. Ordered the house veal special which was succulent; Chianti went well with the meal; my daughter had a salad which she enjoyed very much; we both had espressos to end the meal. Good team work by staff for all aspects of service.
Sammy's has great food and drinks. The servers do a remarkable job in making your experience a pleasant one. Always an enjoyable evening.Live going there.
Celebrated a birthday of a friend we chose their tasting menu it was delicious, tried several items I don't usually get everything delicious.
Delicious Italian food and classy friendly ambiance. I would definitely return and recommend.
Our favorite restaurant ever. Love the food and atmosphere. Our waiter, Renee, was fabulous. Can't wait to come again. Thanks
Always a great place to go for good food and great service!
Fantastic food! Great atmosphere and friendly staff!
Best chicken parm my son ever had, he says. Always a great experience.
This was our second dinner at Sammy's. Both were very good. This time I had the Flounder & Shrimp which was served in a delicious sauce.
Really enjoyed the Aperol Spritz. Food was good.
My husband and I forget about Sammy's (even though we drive by daily), because parking can be a challenge. But I have been there twice over the past two weeks and both were terrific experiences. Service was wonderful and the food was excellent. The seafood fra diavolo (which they serve over spinach as well as over pasta), the veal francais, and the mushroom black truffle risotto were well received by everyone at the table. The restaurant also has a very nice -- and reasonably priced -- wine list. We will visit again soon.
Always terrific...food is served hot, food.
Food is consistently above average, price is reasonable and the service was spot on
As always - great food, great service, great wine and great fun!
The food is amazing and the service is awesome. Valeria is the best!
We were there on a slow night. Overall, it was a pleasurable experience. The steak was overcooked, but taken back for a new steak without complaint. Service was pleasant as well. Overall was a good experience, and will probably try again, but for pasta next time.
I’m a New Yorker, so I’m pretty picky about my Italian food. With that said, the food was great!
All the food we got here was amazing. Standouts were the mushroom sauce (for both gnocchi and ravioli), tiramasu, and the red wine sangria! I don't typically like red sangria, but we got a pitcher for the table and it was so sweet and fruity. Service was exceptionally fast, as well. Would definitely go back!
You have amazing food , and our server and host were top notch.
Best Italian food in Baltimore! Great atmosphere and great chef!
Food very, very good, server very good but there should have been more than one person
Serving the upstairs area. Noise level bad.....but food very good. Good before theatre!
We were going to dinner prior to going to the Lyric show, which started at 7:00, Sunday June 30th. We initially booked our table for Sammy's Trattoria for 5:00 p.m. The day of the show we decided to go a little earlier and changed the arrival time to 4:30 p.m. The time change was easily handled through Open Table and did not present any problems when we arrived at the restaurant.
This was our first time dining at Sammy's. The restaurant is quite charming inside, warm and welcoming. The menu was condensed because it was a show day, which we understood. The server was efficient, worked hard. Lots of patrons arriving to dine before the show so it put extra pressure on the servers. But they handled it quite well. Sammy was friendly and always had a smile on face.
Won't go into a long description of what everyone ordered except to say the food was good but because it was a condensed menu some favorite items were not available. When your mouth has been waiting for your favorite Italian dish a substitute entree doesn't really satisfy.
The noise level is a bit high; two-story open layout may be the reason but that adds more to the charm.
Because we arrived well ahead of the show, on-street open parking was plentiful. We parked mid-point between the restaurant and the Lyric so the walk to the car after the show was about a block and a half.
We will return another time on a non-show day to enjoy the full menu and be able to relax a bit.
The best Italian food anywhere. Worth my 5-6 hour drive from North Carolina. Have a very good friend here in NC that has a fine dining restaurant & called when he was in Baltimore to ask "What is the best Italian in Little Italy?" I immediately replied the best Italian food is not in Little Italy...you have to go to Sammy's & now he's a big fan.
Fabulous tasting Italian food and decent wine list.
First time there based on recommendations. Plenty of food on the plate for left overs. Veal and bread were excellent.
Service was terrific at Sammy’s. Friendly staff and prompt service. Food delivered hot and was delicious.
A true family style Italian restaraunt . From the moment you sit at the table and bread with olive oil is set to the homemade cannoli , you feel like part of the family . A true Baltimore gem .
Great food, great service, great ambiance....will return!
Seem aware that many early evening diners are showgoers (Meyerhoff and Lyric are nearby), and work to get you there!
Our waiter was very sweet and tried to move things along.
But he (and his colleagues) were visibly stressed and handling too many tables. Not sure if this is typical, or just a one-night shortage.
The restaurant never has sufficient staff to seat guests, wait tables.
Everything takes forever. Often wait staff does not return to the table to ask if you need anything else, water replenishment, more wine...
It is convenient to the Meyerhoff. That's why I go.
