Our family of four enjoyed a wonderful and memorable dinner on our last evening in San Francisco. This was after a weekend of not-so-good restaurant service at “tourist” Hot spots near Fisherman’s Wharf. It was a refreshing dinner experience with fresh local ingredients, as we chose the “seasonal 2-course dinner”, complete with inexpensive wine pairings, which was amazingly good. Anzu treats their guests very well, just like the Hotel Nikko in which the restaurant is housed. Well done! More

We visited for the Monday Special, which is, as I recall, two starters, two entrees and a bottle of (select) wines for $55. It was an outstanding deal. The bottle of wine alone was priced at $50 on the regular menu. But even more special than that were two notable factors: Our Server, Meg, was absolutely excellent: efficient, and very responsive to our information that we were slow eaters and wanted a couple of minutes between courses. She kept a frequent eye on us without being in the least intrusive. She was just as friendly and delightful as we could wish her to be, taking a cue from us regarding how much involvement with her we wanted... The second notable factor was that the beef short ribs would have fallen off the bone if there had been a bone! They were fork tender if you "cut" along the grain, and had just a touch of fat on them to make the taste awesome. When the manager came to the table to check if all was well, we asked him how the chef got the ribs so tender. Manny, the manager did not have an answer. Minutes later he came back and reported the Chef's answer to our question! My husband's skirt steak was cooked exactly to order and was also delicious. The dessert's were extra, but we bought them to take home for later. All in all, the only negative to report was our own fault: we absolutely ate too much! Oh, by the way, we bravely selected Paul Martin's Caesar Salad which combined romaine and kale, our first foray into kale. It tasted just fine, largely because of how good the caesar dressing was! We will definitely return more often, despite the huge popularity of this place and the accompanying noise. We will also definitely request the caring services of Meg. More

Would have given 5 stars, except they were out of chicken wings and poke, which is what we went there for. This forced us to try other dishes, like the mac and cheese and shrimp tacos, they were very tasty as well. I believe the fall festival had them sold out on Saturday night and there was also a wedding shower there that afternoon. Food is always good... More

Went for the 5-course food and wine pairing just after proposing to my now fiancé. This was hands down one of the best experiences of our week long trip to California. The waitress was amazing (forgot name but y’all and blonde- deserves a raise), the chef was extremely personable and knowledgeable, and the wine and food was outstanding. Honestly, we both felt it was the best meal of our lives. More

We are part of the Bacchus Management Group family of restaurants. Bacchus, located in the best “big” city in the world, San Francisco, is a boutique hospitality group that owns and oversees a handful of award-wining restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Spruce in San Francisco, and The Village Pub in Woodside. The group also includes SMIP Ranch, a private farm in the hills above Woodside that grows ingredients exclusively for the restaurants; a coffee roasting company, RoastCo; and Mayfield Bakery, an artisan bakery in Palo Alto.

Pizza Antica's journey began over 10 years ago with the opening of the first location in Santana Row. Our goal was to evoke the feeling of eating in a classic Roman pizzeria, while cooking with pristine local ingredients from small family farmers. We have since opened additional restaurants in Mill Valley, Lafayette, and Danville.More

Discover San Francisco

Farm-to-table is everywhere now, but it was here first. Just north of San Francisco, the values-forward counties of Marin and Sonoma offer an abundance of sustainably sourced produce. Of course, there’s more to eat in the Bay than leafy greens alone—don’t miss the mainstays like Cioppino (a seafood stew best eaten with thick-cut garlic bread), Mission-style burritos, local oysters and Neapolitan pizza where pizzerias around town war for the ultimate version. The city has long been home to distinct international flavors, so for authentic dim sum, Chinatown tops the charts. The Mission is ablaze with longstanding taquerias, steakhouses and a new wave of artisanal bakeries and coffee houses. And the Fisherman’s Wharf, while touristy, is the spot for Bay caught seafood. From there, we recommend walking to Crissy Field for Golden Gate Bridge gazing and sparkling sunshine.
