The Bincho-Tan is a great value and glad to say, quality food. I went with the Scottish Salmon as my entree, with a side of grilled cauliflower and king oyster mushroom. -First off, I made a request to use as little oil as possible. Ok, so 9/10 when I done it and request this, they don’t so much as give it a second thought. Get this - at ANZU, my plate came out almost perfectly oil free and was still exceptionally delicious. I couldn’t believe that they actually listened to my request! Bravo to the chefs. -The flavor of the salmon really shines. It tasted quite fresh. Plus points for cooking it to an absolutely perfect medium rare. You don’t even need the sauce (though the Thai Curry sauce was delectable and perfectly balanced in flavor)! I ordered the “Man of the House” whiskey beverage. It was good, but you can’t taste the thyme that is supposedly in it. It was like a glorified old fashioned. Likewise, I decided to try the maple old fashioned next. It was overly sweet. To my chagrin, it was a less-glorified, overly sugar-forward cocktail. I sent it back after one sip and they took it off the bill. Our server, Acen, was a pleasure to have serve our table of two. He is certainly a very capable staff member. He came to our table to check on us at just the right times and was very personable. He’s good at short banter and chit chat, too, if you’re in to that. 10 stars for exceptional service through our dinner. More

We enjoyed the Kendall Jackson wine and cheese sampling. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the setting couldn't have been more romantic for us. We had a private tasting with complete explanation of the wines and the cheese we sampled. The gardens surrounding the main building are gorgeous. We visited during the fall harvest and the weather, setting and food were perfect! More

Discover San Francisco

Farm-to-table is everywhere now, but it was here first. Just north of San Francisco, the values-forward counties of Marin and Sonoma offer an abundance of sustainably sourced produce. Of course, there’s more to eat in the Bay than leafy greens alone—don’t miss the mainstays like Cioppino (a seafood stew best eaten with thick-cut garlic bread), Mission-style burritos, local oysters and Neapolitan pizza where pizzerias around town war for the ultimate version. The city has long been home to distinct international flavors, so for authentic dim sum, Chinatown tops the charts. The Mission is ablaze with longstanding taquerias, steakhouses and a new wave of artisanal bakeries and coffee houses. And the Fisherman’s Wharf, while touristy, is the spot for Bay caught seafood. From there, we recommend walking to Crissy Field for Golden Gate Bridge gazing and sparkling sunshine.
