Sant Ambroeus - Southampton
We translated these old-world sensibilities of Sant Ambroeus to modern times, and imported our rich culinary traditions to New York. Each of our restaurants remains authentic to our Milanese origins, and we continue to serve our culturally inspired delectables in a casual yet elegant environment.
I celebrated my 50th birthday here. The service was terrible, as in it seemed like you were short waitstaff. Took forever to order food, and longer to receive utensils, water, and wine. Food is not as good as used to be.
Our server was incredible! Food delicious, as always.
Delicious food and fantastic service. What more could I want?
My husband and I were very disappointed at this place. While the outdoor seating area was lovely, the food was less than stellar. We ordered broccoli as our appetizer and it was soggy and bland. I ordered the breaded veal with arugula and tomato salad. The veal was tasteless(no seasoning) and extremely dry. The staff seemed annoyed(and rude) when i asked for a steak knife(twice). We will not be going back.
Dining in the proper dining room in the back of the establishment was outstanding. This is the best restaurant in the Hamptons. You get what you pay for. Worth every penny. But bring a lot of pennies. You will
Love this restaurant
Great veal cutlet Milanese. Cold asparagus also good.
Exquisite, as always! Everything from the food (especially fresh out here in the Hamptons), to the service (friendly and charming) and the ambiance (the Alley is like a lovely little secret garden) was superb! We love coming to Sant Ambroeus, time and time again.
The service, normally excellent, was nonexistent. No idea why, since it wasn't crowded.
The food was superb. The service was poor. We arrived at 7:00. No one took our order for 25 minutes though there were few diners present. The waiter took the order from the table next to us and ignored us completely. Then the bread server brought bread to other tables and left without serving us. We had to speak up to place our order. Diners arriving at 8:00 were advised of specials which were never offered to us. Very stressful beginning but the food was wonderful and almost made up for it.
Nice restaurant; however, extremely expensive for what you get.
A wonderful anniversary dinner. It’s our go-to special place.
We had dinner reservations at 815pm, however it took us about 20-25 minutes to be finally seated. Other than that, the food and service during the meal was very good.
Best meal we’ve had in The Hamptons!
Perfect . It’s like being in Europe in the summer when one can sit outside in the alley
The Alley was a perfect setting for our anniversary dinner. Cocktails were excellent as were the entrees we ordered. Waitstaff was personable and professional.
Very good service, exceptional food, wonderful atmosphere. Pricey, even for the Hamptons, but for an elegant evening it's worth it.
Mediocre everything- food and service did not measure up to the charm of the alley!
Simply extraordinary! Preparation of food was exquisite. The service was extremely professional and the setting in The Alley was magical. Best dining experience of the year.
The vongole pasta was just ok; nothing special...had to send it back since pasta was too al dente.
The food was excellent. The service was mediocre. Although it was a small restaurant our servers seemed so busy they did not have a lot of time to help us. Tables were very close together so other diners felt as if they were dining with us. The noise level was pretty high. I would go back b/c the food was so good.
Well, basically we had reasonable good food with only a name to relate it to true Italian cuisine. What do you make of a Vitello tonnato that consist of excellent meat, a weird creamy fishy brown butter and pickled (!!) peppers? And the most strange risotto I have ever tasted. Please go back to true, simple but tasteful italian cooking. You did a great job with the coffee and the pastry, try it with the food also. Food: 6/10, wine: 7/10, coffee: 9/10, pastries: 8/10.
Amazing ambiance, excellent service and awesome food! Looking forward to out next visit
Great food just pricey. Enjoyed the lentil salad and the branzino
I have been to any of the Saint Ambrous restaurants since day one in NY (11 years). Quality of food is great but price are gone really insane.
This is year they have changed the price of a simple cake as the crostata from 42$ to 50$.
Sad to say I won't buy it anymore.
Extremely expensive for what you get. All drinks including alcohol and coffee.
Consistently delicious. Best restaurant in the hamptons !
Always great food, great service and a nice ambiance.
Sant Ambroeus has good Italian food -occasionally great. The artichoke salad is lovely .... lentil soup good ... would be better with pork ...clam linguini ( vongole). Needs more clams & garlic.... nice Wine choices. Love the olive bread and espresso & gianduia.
This restaurant continues to be a wonderful choice to dine with friends. The food is always good and the service is unobtrusive.
Impeccable ambience class dining experience!
Too many small children ruining nice dinner
Very nice high end dinner to listen to screaming kids
We ate in the outside area between 2 buildings which is quite quaint. Several people had issues with bees but other than an occasional fly by we were ok. Food and service were very good. For value... it's The Hamptons, so expect extremely high prices.
Just love the indoor and outdoor hostesses...very friendly, accommodating, classy women. They put on no airs even when place is packed.
Of course food always perfect -branzino yummy, on Fava beans and spaghetti strofinati - always my son’s favorite - was flawless. The appetizer melon with prosciutto just right—sweet and delicious.
Since it was our 33year anniversary, at the end of our meal when we asked for the check,
Waiter brought us most incredible complimentary mouth watering slice of hazelnut cake with candle on it...made our evening. I def recommend this place.
Fabulous all around!!!
Beautiful outdoor garden for summer dining
Food was terrible and very little service. Have been before but definitely won’t be back.
Food was delicious, started with this incredible eggplant app then a pasta special with short rigatoni mushrooms so good, my son had the veal chop special cooked perfect. A little pricey for lunch 1 app, 1 pasta, 1 entree, 1 soda and 1 Bellini = $175
