Amazing authentic Chinese food, just as good as high end places but in a more casual environment and better value, forget Chinatown
Waiting 30 minutes for food to arrive. When it did, it was cold. It had obviously been sitting somewhere. The response of the staff was very poor and they left the service charge on. Such a shame as the food was decent.
I didn't order the best-sellers. I ordered steamed pork with rice and Luton root rib soup, which are not as good as those in China. I didn't compare them with those at other restraunts but with the same dishes made by relatives or native people in China. Not the traditional original taste. Not healthy and fresh. I am not sure the taste of other dishes in this restraunt. Maybe some are good.
I would not come here for authentic sichuan/ chinese food. The kong pao prawns did not taste like kong pao which should have been sweet and spicy.
I went to this restaurant having been been assured by time out website 20% off my bill using their time out card, alas, not only did i not get the discount as promised i had to pay for a sub par meal.
After a couple of complaints to time out who then communicated with the restaurant. The Manager then claims that all staff were aware of the programm but i didn't bring the card with me which is completely lies!
I am absolutely appalled by this restaurant. The food was poor and it seems that they have no morals. Why would anyone want to go there?!
Recommended by a friend who grew in China before coming to live here, who was very excited when she first found this restaurant praising it for how 'real' its dishes were to back home in China. The menu is incredibly diverse and has a lot of dishes that you'd not normally see on a Chinese menu in England. The portion sizes were large and most dishes came in the region of £6-8 per portion, which could feed 2-3 people + rice/noodles. Highly recommend their 'sea spicy pork' dish and the house special dumplings. Staff were helpful too and very accommodating.
Sanxia Renjia Chinese restaurant is a small family friendly restaurant set very near Goodge street tube station. It has a wide and varied menu. There was a wide choice for vegetarians and non meat eaters. The food was a tasteful take on every day Chinese food. We did not venture out into the realms of the pictured dishes, but found our kung po prawns and tofu ma po filling and flavourful.
Good for duck tongues, though there are better Chinese restaurants.
- fair services
- good chinese food
- good value
My dad and I turned up 8:00pm on a Wednesday night. The restaurant had a few pre-theatre tourists, and several tables of Chinese diners. The menu was varied, and authentic. We were well attended by courteous, and informative staff. Our meal arrived promptly, with sufficient time between courses. The food was absolutely lovely and portion size was generous (I'd order 2 servings for 3 people). At the end of the meal waitress came and sat down with us and we enjoyed a chat about the food and cuisine - dont be afraid to ask about items not on the menu.
A good value spot on Goodge St. a broad menu of Szechuanese faves, spicy but not too oily - which can be an issue with this cuisine. It is a basic cafe-style format, but that aside a very good value eaterie which works for informal and interesting Chinese food with friends. Twice-cooked pork was enjoyed. Portion sizes are large - we over-ordered!
Nice food and great staff, not just your usual chinese food
