We cook all our food, sauces, bread, pates and desserts on the premises. Everything is homemade with fresh and natural ingredients. If we can’t make it, we don’t have it! We never use precooked food, flavour enhancers or preservatives. We only use natural butter, cholesterol free oils or olive oil.
Our wine has been sourced from the best wine producing countries in the world and the wine list has been put together with care, to offer the best value for money wines.
The price you see is all you pay. There are no hidden charges and all the meals come with vegetables and a basket of freshly baked bread. We have no happy hour or buy one get one free. We try to give the highest quality food at the lowest possible price. There are very few restaurants that can make this claim.
Savoir Faire's Bouillabaisse
fish & shellfish soup with tomatoes, herbs & veg
served with Salad
with Chickpeas, Aubergines, Celery, Spinach and Mint in a Rich Tomato and Lemon Sauce
The food was delicious and the staff were great. We made a late booking so we're downstairs on our own rather than with other customers so the ambience was not as energetic, but they ensured we had all we needed and we weren't forgotten. Decent background music. The decor is beautifully parisien and the food was amazing albeit a little on the dearer side, but worth it nonetheless.
Very poor service. Staff did no take the order and after 30 minutes of waiting walked to front of house and made the order at the bar.
Then waited a further 45 minutes for food to arrive.
The place was freezing cold as they couldn’t be bothered to turn the heating on!
The food was surprisingly ok though!
If you want to sit in a cold restaurant in a room that has not been decorated for over 30 years whilst waiting over an hour for the good to arrive, then I would recommend this experience.
Great food and wine, service was excellent. The only downside was that the toilets could have been a bit cleaner
Went for a birthday dinner, was a fairly large table but we had to wait more than 20 minutes to be seated which was quite annoying and a bit embarrassing for myself. Service was slow but the food was excellent and we did make it out on time for the next event. Think they are struggling a bit because of staff shortages from Brexit and Covid but overall nice place with great food and beautiful decor.
We waited 1.5 hour for drinks and food to arrive and left. The only table around us who got their wine order had to go to the bar and have an argument with the waiter. We didn't receive any apologies from the management or the waiters.
Slow service despite not appearing to be overly busy and overcooked food. Has the potential to be a lovely restaurant.
The ambiance and food were great, the service was a bit lacking due to staff shortages. Otherwise a good experience.
Lovely quirky restaurant with exceptional food
I don't like to leave negative reviews....we had made a booking. Arrived on time and directed to an 'unmade' table. We sat and waited... and waited...and waited. No one seemed interested in the fact that we'd been sat to our table. We could see two waiters running about as though the end of the world had happened - looking stressed. Someone at another table had sent their food back - and the chef - we could see him - didn't look impressed. We waited further. It was very noisy and just felt wrong...we could see it wasn't going to be a pleasant evening. Only when we stood to leave did the waiter show interest in us but, of curse, by then it was too late - we left - with no regrets! Eating is is meant to be an enjoyable expereince and not filled with the waiter's/chefs stresses. Anyhow can't comment on the food so I left a middle review as i had to tick something. Wouldn't go back...ever.
Dinner for six. The food of very varied quality, from inedible mussels drowned in rancid cooking oil to quite decent lamb shanks. The overall service highly amateurish.
Had eaten there several times in the past and enjoyed it. The food was OK, and as we ate around 2030 and didn't have to hurry off, we didn't experience other recent diners' complaints about not making their curtain up. What did leave me gobsmacked however was the fact that when my wife finished before me, one waiter tried to clear my plate while I was still eating, knife and fork in hand! I fear this is the end of our relationship (with Savoir Faire, not my wife), though I will miss the neck ache experienced while reading the bon mots scrawled on the ceiling.
Lovely restaurant and the food was of good quality. Unfortunately we had to hurry the waiting staff as were having a pre-theatre meal and we hadn’t had our order taken or been offered any drinks for 25mins after arriving. Even after expressing we needed to be finished by a certain time we were told we would have plenty of time for a starter and main and this simply wasn’t the case. I managed half my meal before we had to leave to catch our show. More realistic advice from the staff would have been appreciated rather than having to rush (and not finish) what was actually a very tasty meal. I would go back if I had at least an hour to spare per course, not one for quick service.
Simple and lovely food and service 👍
Easy to find and cosy atmosphere
Lovely lunch and excellent service, the goats cheese starter was so tasty as was the chicken supreme. Will be back!
Wonderful experience theoughout
Very good surprise! Service was spot on and food very well prepared. We will return.
Good food, decent value and a nice location. Staff was small and service okay not great. Good before theatre meal
Stumbled on this place, small and intimate feel with background French music, the food was so good, goats cheese with pear and walnut salad, and steak frites with a lovely bottle of the house red merlot, just perfect.
The waiter went out of his way to look after us, what a great guy!
Sad this is not family run anymore. And it shows. Food was nowhere as good as it used to be. Portions smaller too. Very sad. It’s ok tho but not outstanding as it used to be.
The man that served us couldn't have been any nicer and welcoming but unfortunately the food doesn't justify the price. We had steak which was around £20. The steak was cooked perfectly but you could tell it was a really cheap cut and there was allot of fat on it. The salad was really basic and the chips tasted like they had been brought from McDonald's. It's a really nice little atmosphere to sit down and have drinks but I don't think we will be going back for food.
Really great food. Lovely ambience
Great staff. Mario you were Ace. Food was also lovely. It was a bit too loud for us to converse but other than that this was a lovely little place and lovely service.
Have been going to this restaurant for nearly 20 years and love it so much. It’s now under new ownership and I would beg the new owners to change absolutely nothing. Savoir faire has a very loyal clientele so just keep it as it is and you’ll do fine.
Lovely meal here, but we always visit when we're in London. It's reasonably priced and we've never had a poor meal. It was quiet, unusually, so the service was excellent. No complaints whatsoever.
The menu on line is not the same as in the restaurant. I hope they will feature more French dishes soon. Hopefully when restrictions are over, the management will reinvent quality and interesting food -as although the menu was limited- I enjoyed what I ate and could see the potential for great dishes.
Everything else was fine but the cheese platter was a little bit disappointing considering this is a French restaurant!
First time back since lockdown, excellent food and friendly, attentive service as always.
Excellent French bistro close to the British Museum.
Classic french dishes such as french onion soup, lambs kidneys, goats cheese salad and bouillabaisse, steak & frites, duck magret and chocolate mousse and creme brûlée. Delicious!
Lovely staff and ambience.
A really nice bistro ambience with very helpful and attentive staff. It was our first time in Savoir Faire, but it won't be our last.
Always a lovely place to eat. Nice people, excellent food - it was amazing to be back in a restaurant!
Really good food and excellent friendly service. Would definitely recommend and we will visit again!
Last weekend of outdoor dining, so cannot fully review.
But the food was very tasty, good value, and the service was totally charming.
Jess and Mario are 🌟 🌟
The food is pretty good in this price. It's a bit too noisy for outdoor dinning. Service is alright, it's quite busy so not complaining.
This used to be my favourite restaurant in london. But I wonder if management/chef/waiter team changed during the pandemic?
The food is really not up to standard anymore and the service team does not appear to know anything about the menu/wine.
We have been there often over the years and the owners/waiters knew everything there was to know about french food and wine pairing. The food used to be amazing and properly cooked in a french way. The food now is not terrible but the quality has dramatically changed.
The food was really tasty and our waiter was really attentive.
However the portion size of the food was so tiny, but having the complementary bread basket was a lovely touch to bulk up the meal.
The drinks were also really nice.
The outdoor seating area could benefit hugely from outdoor heaters, but again offering blankets was an nice touch to compensate for the cold spring weather
Efficient and friendly service by Mario who made our first visit to the restaurant a really pleasant experience.
Super good food and amazing service! Many thanks !! Will definitely come back
Sat outside despite the clouds. Goats cheese starter superb. 2 Mains - baked hake and a steak, very good. House wine very quaffable. Really good experience, treated like royalty by the two waiting staff. Will definitely go again when the weather improves.
A quiet Friday lunch, the first for a year! Sitting on the pavement with attentive service. A delightfull prawn/advocado and kidney/mustard starter perfectly seasoned and tasty. The entrecote and lamb shank were wholesome and plentiful. Full, the red wine accompanied a fun restaurant, desert was a step too far.
Nice food, good service, plenty of outdoor tables.
