We were really impressed by this restaurant. Food was gorgeous, service great, and very good value for money. The sea views a bonus. Thoroughly recommend.
On entering the hotel we were greeted and we asked for a drink in the lounge and were told that someone would take our order. Unfortunately wires got crossed. We did get our drinks after I asked at the bar. After that we were treated with every hospitality that we expected from a lovely Restaurant. We had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed every moment of our joint Birthdays and Wedding Anniversary. Food was fantastic as was the service. Thank you.
An excellent meal with good service. Good range of menu options Great view from window table.
The food was very good but unfortunately the service was extremely poor the restaurant was not busy, we arrived on time and waited where asked but ignored by several of the staff. We had to approach a member of staff to ask to be seated which was done reluctantly and then waited a further five minutes to receive any attention. I believe the FOH staff let down the kitchen staff with their lack of attention, a pity as the restaurant is in a most desirable spot with fabulous sea views.
We had been really looking forward to dinner at the restaurant, and the food was tasty but the service just didn't match the reviews.
We were advised our table was ready ahead of time and our view out to sea was lovely. It seemed to take some time before our waitress appeared and our drinks even longer.
Our nibbles arrived the same time as our starters, and so they had to go back. The waitress questioned why we wouldn't want the two together?
The service seemed to be disjointed during the evening; we were either being asked twice over if everything was ok or having to grab the attention of staff for more drinks?
Such a shame as our choices from the menu were delicious, and the view was great.
We were celebrating two birthdays and the staff were very helpful with our cake and candles.
They also tried their best to help with three successive wasps who wanted to join in. In the
end we captured them and they let them free outdoors.
Two of us tried the chickpea pancake but we thought the batter could be a little lighter. The
vegetables were lovely.
A lovely birthday meal with the family
We did enjoy our meal it was very good although we thought a bit overpriced. First time we went service was good but the second time was slow. It was very quiet both occasions there was no atmosphere which is often the case in hotel restaurants.
Service was good once junior staff knew how to take drinks orders at the bar. Food presented well and tasty. Very surprised st bill though - a bottle of red wine added to bill, in error you hope. Suggest some staff get better trained in till use and allocation of drinks to correct table before much longer.
We were made very welcome and enjoyed ourselves. Food good quality and menu wide enough for our party. Slight reduction on scoring because requests for no butter sauce on steak and no coleslaw on burger failed to get through to the kitchen.
Drinks are pricey but delightfully presented. Will go again.
Booked for a evening meal on the terrace unfortunately a storm blew up but the staff managed to relocate us inside without any problems. Smashing food and great service. Finished evening sitting at the bar a variety of premium sprits. Big thank you to the bar staff Ahmed for going above he’s duty on helping us get home.
Very patchy and inattentive service. Food very nice.
Lovely food and a great atmosphere. Outstanding view of the sea
Great location and the service was extremely high standard
Awful service ! Had to leave before we were even seated
My husband and I came here a year or so ago and raved about the food, we decided to bring our children along to celebrate our wedding anniversary but was really disappointed there was no fillet steak and no lobster on the menu, we had our very average dinner which was pricey for what we ended up with. Some of the staff were very friendly others not so. Wont be going again! Will stick to chips on the beach next time.
We had booked a table outside but there was a keen wind so decided to ask for a table inside which was no trouble. Overall it was very pleasant - the staff extremely helpful and courteous - had to wait a little while for our mains but they were busy
Looking forward to our next visit
Good food, and pleasant environment slightly spoiled by casual and disrespectful start by rather rude waiter/barman. First five minutes and last five minutes are the most important in any kind of service interaction. Pity as menu was interesting and dishes were excellent.
Overall pleasant experience. Great table and view. Unfortunately 2 of the 3 fish option were no longer on the menu so that was disappointing, however food was good.
Very relaxed setting, with lovely sea views. Great food, good service. Very friendly.
A seafront restaurant / hotel with indoor and outdoor eating. A modern, airy and clean restaurant with a seafood menu, well presented food and great puddings! Good service and great value for money. Worth a visit if you are in Aldeburgh.
Fantastic, calming, sea view with excellent food and attentive staff. A good place for meeting friends and escaping the rush of daily life.
We booked to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary as we both love Seafood and our usual restaurant we go to had recently closed. We were so pleased that we did choose the Brudenell as the food as amazing and we will definitely book again in the future.
Our main course took nearly 2 hours to arrive. To constantly use the excuse of “we are very busy” is so poor. There were not enough staff waiting on tables for a hot bank holiday weekend and clearly not enough staff in the kitchens to cater for the constant flow of visitors. Of course it was going to be busy overlooking the sea on a sunny day. The food was good when it arrived but we won’t rush back because the service was so abysmal.
We pre-booked for a bank holiday weekend lunch for two. All tables have excellent views of the sea, and we have been a couple of times before in the past 5 years.
The waiter was efficient and friendly, a little bit too fast - but I would never complain about that! (but our plates were whisked away whilst eating our last mouthful).
I went for a whole lobster, and whilst it was gorgeous and plenty of meat, for £41 with just a few chips for accompaniment (not rosemary chips as listed?), the plate could have been a bit more imaginative and generous with a bit of salad/veg.
My only criticism is that it's all looking a little tired and in need of a refurb.
Really enjoyed my lunch at the Seafood Grill. Really fresh and tasty oysters (some of the best I have had). Friendly service and lovely location overlooking the sea.
Brilliant!!!! We had my mum's 70th birthday party lunch here. The staff were attentive and professional. Super friendly. The food was wonderful. Seriously it was a wow lunch and we will be returning.
Great food, great service in fabulous alderborogh a great place to eat great quality food and presentation excellent, atmosphere great the brilliant Brudenell 😘
I have been coming to this hotel for 40 years. It has changed hands a few times.
But the latest change is for the worst.
In November Hungarians took it over. The ambiance/atmosphere has vanished.
It was like being served by robots 🤖. No laughs, jokes very cold people.
Will never go back.
Shame as it was a great place to dine on the seafront.
Great staff good food great position for a sea view restaurant
Very enjoyable. Food, service and ambience very good.
We pre-booked for a Sunday lunch as a couple, having eaten here previously. We didn't want a Roast dinner, so was very satisfied with the meal , service and ambiance. The only downside was - the cost!!!
The usual high standard, excellent food, excellent service.
Great meal & service as usual. Not cheap, but well worth it.
A hotel restaurant that is possibly trying a bit too hard to be 'high end' in a rather functional dining room. However, the food (and that I guess should be the main thing) was well cooked, presented in fine manner and was very tasty. Indeed, if had not been for the very good meal I had (oysters followed by lobster) this review might have been rather more critical.
The oysters were delicious and the sea bass was very tasty. The butter beans under the sea bass were a revelation. And the #quid added an unusual texture. Best meal for a long time. Thank you!
Great service and excellent food, however the outside of the hotel didn’t look that inviting on a wet February afternoon. However once inside we loved it
Overall we enjoyed our evening. It is a lovely setting with a lively atmosphere. The staff were friendly, the barman was extremely helpful. Unfortunately far too many members of staff asked us if our food was ok, twice before we’d even taken a bite. Most of the food was good but my fish was under cooked. My husband had the Hake special and the cheese board which were both very small portions.
Fantastic food and ambiance, would definitely eat here again.
Wonderful menu - want to take family in the future.
Excellent meal and service...The fish couldn’t have been fresher or better presented...Thoroughly recommended!
