We were in England for ten days and booked this in late May. They require your credit card information and names of all in your party when you make the reservation and charge a percentage for food and beverage if you do not cancel 48 hours in advance. The building requires you to go through security (like in an airport) before being allowed to use the elevator.
When we entered the correct floor, the hostess could not find our reservation; turns out she assumed the name I gave her was my first name; took about five minutes to straighten this out; part of the problem I think is she herself did not have a good command of the English language. The roof has a great view, all glass, and the building is very modern, all glass, shaped like a "gerkin." However, very noisy and waiters act like they're being bothered. The food was good. All in all, the experience was not good enough to make the meal and trouble it took to get there enjoyable.
Good service friendly staff, food was great. Great for an ocassion. Would go again
A bit disappoint with the service, view and food
(service; we have to call waiter or waitress many time to get our water, ice. we have been ask three times that have we finished our meal (what a rush!) )
(view; many new building built surround the restaurant so we cannot see the great view apart from another building)
(food; nothing attractive as before)
The location and view is spectacular, and worth the visit alone. Window tables are for two, perfect for a date or a special occasion. Food was great, but the service was generally lacking and uncoordinated. Would expect a proper introduction of every course at this price point and quality level, but instead it seemed like the focus was on a quick turn around which was a little disappointing.
Food was excellent as was food service.
Wine waiter just a little slow but this did not detract from great evening.
Check the bill as we had a couple of items added that were not ours. Disappointing for such an establishment.
Fantastic views and food was brilliant, on the pricey side however given the atmosphere I would still recommend
View was fantastic and so was service. Food was good but not over the moon. Price was expensive but as expected.
Go for the food - expertly prepared and presented. Don't go for the view - restaurant is currently opposite two high rise buildings under construction.
An amazing evening , the food and service was outstanding , our waiter was very attentive , we will be back , better than aqua shard
Amazing! Food was brilliant. We were celebrating an anniversary quickly on a tight schedule and they made it special
There was no shortage of friendly and efficient staff. The view was super even though the weather was rather misty. Food was good and there was a proper cheeseboard. When booking it wasn't that easy to register guests for security purposes - essential before you arrive.
I was disappointed mainly by the food. It was very standard and prices are too expensive for what we eat.
Loved our experience at Searcys
staff very nice
Great for a relaxed special occasion
Excellent food & service. Loved the brunch option. Highly recommend.
We had an excellent meal, good atmosphere, service and very good wine. We would certainly recommend but would warn that it is not inexpensive!
Excellent customer service, food was phenomenal and ambience is totally magnificent. We will definitely come back.
Lovely ambience and excellent, friendly service. Food was reasonable but not outstanding, particular my beef which was outstandingly tough and raw! However, altogether a brilliant place to pass time with friends and especially the top floor coffee lounge. I would certainly recommend it!
Table was too big and we were not given the free table near the window. Instead it went to another group that arrived after us.
I was really looking forward to dining at Searcys- unfortunately we had a very unfriendly waitress. It ruined the experience.
the view is obviously great, but service not at all. it is ok, but should definitely be better for the price you are paying. food is average
They provide us with quality service being attentive to all relevant pieces to make feel us welcome and serviced. Additionally, they attended our special requests.
I booked Searcy’s at the Gherkin as a special lunch with my wife for her birthday, having tried many other venues we had not been to the Gherkin.
I made it clear on booking our daughter has allergies and asked if she could have a special meal which Searcy’s confirmed we could. I was also promised a birthday plate.
Communications leading up the lunch was polite but disappointing with multiple requests to secure the booking and supply attendee details.
The whole meal was a complete let down and vastly below my expectations. The promised special meal was not available. Additionally, when someone has a gluten and nut allergy, offering them nut based gluten-free bread option beggars belief.
The Service was average despite the waitresses best effort, ambiance was awful, view mostly of half built towers in the City just unimpressive. Food was unexceptional, the portions minuscule and overpriced. The promised birthday plate evaporated with the special meal.
Searcy’s managed to ruin a special day, seriously disappointed and frustrated.
Lieu très agréable à découvrir.
Bonne cuisine, beau cadre.
Personnel à la "hauteur "de son établissement .
Un vrai moment de plaisir
We loved our brunch at the Gherkin for my husbands birthday. They gave us the token happy birthday written in chocolate treat which was nice. The food was plentiful and delicious. My only feedback would be to include at least 1 glass of fresh fruit juice or a coffee in the fixed price, it is a brunch after all and I thought £5 for a small cappuccino was pricey hence why I’ve only scored it 3 stars for value for.
Well received. They took note of a request for a window table.
Very attentive service. Food good but not exceptional. I regard the value for money as expensive
The venison and salad was very hard to chew, but all other dishes from the April set menu were OK. The views were amazing, but the food on its own nothing too special to recommend.
Brunch menu was very good - with a suitable range of choice for starters, mains and dessert. However, at the table, every table was also provided a small conventional range of pastries - which could have been in any bakery on the high street! This can be so easily improved.
The whole experience was very positive from the outstandingly good food, to the service and to the ambience! Would certainly recommend.
nice food, great view, exceptional service; a great place for a memorable meal
Disappointing from start to finish. Was surprisingly empty despite being a Thursday night which didn’t lend itself well to the ambience.
Each to their own but the decor was boring, table and chairs looked like they were taken from a meeting room of an office in the 1990’s, I sensed it was purely living off the panoramic views of London (which were incredible).
Service was disappointing, staff were attentive but we were told to basically hurry up and order because the kitchen was closing (at 8:45pm, our reservation was from 8:30pm), the lady backtracked off the look I gave her but she had already ruined the impression we were given.
Food was delicious but overpriced in my view.
Was a good experience for the view but wouldn’t return here. Aquashard is a far better option for the view, as are many of the other City/London high rise places.
One word : stunning
Didn’t go as they cancelled our booking after making hotel arrangement which could not be changed and altho the client relations manager contacted me the only thing she was prepared to offer me was 2 glasses of champagne and seem to make excuses for the wrong doing and tried I felt to put the blame on me. I certainly will never try again and will and have let loads of people know the treatment I received, would you like to have been in my situation and given the brush off.
Beautiful setting, very chic and feels very special.. felt a bit rushed at the table. Had the 3 course set menu with a cocktail for £40. Cocktails were amazing and the food was good
Amazing view and ambience. Great service! Food portions are small, but surprisingly rich. Unforgettable experience!
Lovely meal and great service
Staff friendly and welcoming. We were given a window table as we arrived early evening. The set menu though small was delicious and perfectly cooked and without having to ask they produced a Birthday message on a separate dessert plate for my friend. At the end of our meal they took our drinks upstairs to the bar so we could carry on enjoying the amazing views.
Go once to tick it off your list but don’t go back. This is definitely somewhere to go if you want the wow factor. Security is tight as if you were travelling abroad, metal sectors , bag checks. The view is as you would expect amazing. The staff are nice if a little to prompt but overall I found the whole thing lacking. The menu was limited I was hoping for more substantial food (Sunday lunch, fries even) but it was basically eggs!! They call it 4 courses but that includes the bread which is cheeky. That being said the food did fill me up but for £55 I think it’s one time thing and I won’t be going back.
Really great experience, excellent and attentive service, great value considering the surroundings. Perfect for business or a relaxing afternoon lunch.
Wonderful location, food and service. My favourite special place to go.
I was very impressed with the service that was provided from arriving to leaving - all staff were polite, helpful and attentive. Compared to other places in London where you would be able to get a similar set menu lunch/brunch I thought value for money wasn't too bad. My only complaint was the the English muffin I had with my eggs benedict was tough and perhaps a little stale but I only bought this up at the end of the meal as I was greatly enjoying everything else. I took my mum with me as a Mother's Day treat and she was also impressed with the staff and pleased with her own food - as a non-meat eater she appreciated that there was sufficient and well thought out choice. Having a table by the window was not something I had asked for but was definitely a great plus! Overall I enjoyed the experience and would recommend to others
