We were really looking forward to dine here but unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. After sitting down to eat and trying to order an appetizer, we were told they ran out. Soon after we learned that they were also sold out of four of the dinner entrées which was almost half the menu. We understand people are shortstaffed and things happen due to Covid and other circumstances but after talking to the manager they were extremely rude and not accommodating at all. Save your money and dine elsewhere!
Food is always very good! Live music is great! Very pretty interior but not to its potential. I would add linen tablecloths for dinner and restructure tables so your bar area would increase its potential. Young wait staff were very kind with their large responsibility.
Food was very good. Enjoyable cocktails. But the service was spotty, and inattentive with a busser who was constantly asking to take our plates. And there was live music that quickly turned into a bar scene or “dualing pianos” type ambiance and the pianist actually played “baby shark” in it’s entirety (a thumbs down for me). A few ppl seemed to enjoy it, but definitely not what I would expect of the description of the restaurant and the prices on the menu.
We always enjoy eating at Sea Salt. Great atmosphere. Great food. Right on the ocean. Cant be beat!
Great meal with great service
Food was delicious!!! Fresh seafood , Service was excellent!!
Love the food and the service. Had a very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The scallops were delicious. I definitely would return.
The tiki bar music was way too loud. Not conducive to eating outdoors. We asked to have it lowered and no one was able to have that request honored. Very disappointed.
Great seafood. Try the seafood tower. Bar drinks are excellent. Tiki Bar is a fun place.
The food was prepared great we just thought the pairings could have been a little better. Service was a little on the slow side but not unbearable and everyone seems to be understaffed right now. We’d go back but aren’t in a “rush” to go back. But we’ve been trying to venture outside of our typical places at the shore and to that end this was a nice change/evening.
When we came in, the place was empty. We were seated by the door and I asked if we can be moved to the next table. I was told we had to sit where we were placed. Another patron came in after us and was seated arbitrarily to another table on the same row as us. That was the only weird part of the experience. Everything else was great.
The tableware was dirty and so was the staff shirts. Food was awe filling
A prettty average family restaurant in a hotel at the beach.
The staff were friendly but didn’t seem very knowledgeable nor was the chef willing to be flexible. As it is a tourist town, it felt that management didn’t really care. Location is good but no real view Of the water. Better to go to the bar at same hotel. The seafood pasta was good but very large but not al dented as per my request.
Wonderful place to go for a family dinner. Everyone loved their food, and the live music by Mike kept us hanging at the bar after dinner. All in all the perfect night out down the shore!
our meal was excellent and well prepared, service was attentive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant..
We had a fabulous dinner and the staff were so nice.
Food was fantastic. Had the tile fish with corn ragoo and my husband had the blackened prol chop. Both cooked perfectly oysters and steamers Had the donuts for desert. Really great meal
Great atmosphere, but food lacking.
Caesar's salad had no flavor and roast chicken extremely dry.
Wonderful. Fish was a bit dry, but other then that all was fabulous!! Would come again in a heartbeat.
We were vacationing in Cape May and decided to try the restaurant based on a review which was unfortunately 3 years old. I made the reservation at 5:15 and we arrived early and requested an outdoor table, The hostess, who was not friendly or accommodating, said they were all reserved, but when we looked outside, we saw there was only one table occupied and there were many tables available when we left at 6:30. The server was not well versed on the menu and the food was mediocre at best. Our expectations were that the food would e tastier. I had the crispy salmon and my husband had blackened tile fish. As a result, we skipped dessert. We vacation in cape May every year but will not return to Sea Salt based on our experience.
Elegance Beachside dining, lovely warm decor and ambiance. Delicious fresh seafood
Appetizers were good, support staff(food runner and bussers) were great… we actually saw them more than our server. She never once came to check on us. Food was subpar- entrees tasted like a wedding entree.
Waitstaff and bartender were great- the food was uninspired and carelessly presented - a good place for a drink if the jazz pianist is working - while waiting for a table for dinner down town.
Great piano player who takes requests named mike
Very chic and cool. Laid back and upscale at the same time. The service was great, the food was delicious.
Food was delicious. I always bring friends and family from out of town to enjoy this fabulous establishment. Always a great meal.
I would say its an overpriced diner, but that would be an insult to all diners and their wait staff. Open Table indicated there was no time slots available for the time we wanted (7:00 pm) and so we took an 8:00 reservation. We arrived 30 minutes early. The place was virtually empty and we were immediately seated. One unfortunate dining experience later, we learned why. The place is filthy, the staff unskilled (we never saw our waitress again after she took our order; our appetizer and meal unceremoniously dropped on our table by multiple servers; and the bread brought by a disheveled male with an unkempt beard that should not be anywhere near food handling - the same one who was later sweeping up the floor), and the food, well, to say it was mediocre gives it way too much credit. Recommend to a friend? Ha! I wouldn't recommend it to our worst enemy.
Food was great and super good to the kids
The food was excellent, and the service was too. We highly recommend it.
This is the third or fourth time we have visited Sea Salt. Previously, we have been very pleased. This time we were underwhelmed. Despite the impact of COVID, the meal fell far short of expectations.
Excellent food, attentive staff.
We enjoyed our meal very much! The only thing we couldn’t get over was how horrible the rolls were that came out right away! Husband and I both agreed they were terrible. It made us think we wouldn’t enjoy our dinners but the food turned out to be great. Hope they can change out their rolls bc I’m sure others would agree they did not impress!
Restaurant had nice menu selections with tasty food. Crab soup and fillet mignon were outstanding. Our server was very attentive. Prices a little high but not crazy.
Halibut was overcooked very dry. For $42.00 should have been cooked perfectly. Need to use thermometer to make sure it is correct temp. Veggies were dry like they sat too long.
Husband and son had scallops 5 for $33.00. They were small and overcooked.
Daughter-in-law had a steak (filet) that was overcooked and tough. Was really a terrible experience for hubby’s birthday. I never write reviews but felt so strongly about how poor this whole experience was. Yes, we are foodies and live going out to dinner. Will not recommend this place so very disappointed as I wanted to go here for a few years.
We ended up eating at the bar because it was so hot outside. It wasn’t overly crowded - 5 couples, with a bar stool in-between each couple. Felt very open and distanced which was a bonus!!! Great staff & great service. There was live entertainment in the bar area that wasn’t too noisy and didn’t overpower conversations. We had the sea scallops and the filet and would recommend either. It was a great and relaxing Friday night!!!
Madeline was our server and she did a lovely job. Thank you!
Food was good, service was just bad. messy table when entrees came. Dirty dishes all over the table when bill came. Not worth the price tag.
I don't mind paying for good food but I thought this place was expensive for what we got. My husband ordered the halibut for $42 and it was very small portion and not worth the money. Luckily I ordered the grilled octopus salad for my meal and it was good. I am glad I did not order a $40 something meal. I ordered one glass of wine and was never asked if I wanted another. My husband ordered Titos and seltzer and he got Titos on ice. I understand the staff shortage. Another restaurant I was at limited the number of patrons so that the experience was great. This place did not do that. It seemed as though they had a good number of people working up front but I do not know what the kitchen was like. Our dessert did take about 30 minutes to come out. I would try this place but no during these challenging times.
