The menu has changed they removed a number of their best chicken and fish dishes less choices, the menu is now mostly pasta and pizza high carb which I don’t eat.
I had the vegetarian spaghetti squash it was bland and dry. The prices are high for what you get. I reserved a table specifically downstairs and when we arrived was told they don’t take reservations downstairs: why wasn’t I told this in advance?
Great food. Great service. Great conversation! Will definitely return!
Food quality was poor and extremely overpriced.
I’ve eaten here before and the food was amazing. This last time it was not good at all. Both my friends meal and mine were really boring. Had no taste at all!! Not sure what happened! Very disappointing!
A group of friends gathered in the city to attend a memorial service just up the street from Sarefina. We were happy that they were able to accommodate a group of 11 people. We were thrilled to be able to be together to enjoy a nice meal together! However, The service was poor.... extremely slow, our waiter was rude and dismissive when asked questions, He would come to the table and take your drink order from one person and not ask anyone else if they needed anything, but the final straw was when Seven of us were served our food and had completed our meals before the other four people received their food. There was no explanation or contact from the waiter. And it was not overly busy. One person in our party did speak to the manager who was no help at all. As a group we realize that in this post Covid environment, many restaurants are understaffed and working the best they can. However there is no excuse for the lack of service and rudeness from this waiter.
I have eaten far good parmiganas
and the salad portion is small and lack of sauce, my husband had a fungi pizza which was ok but nothing special
Great experience from beginning to end. Waitress was awesome, food was fantastic. Would definitely go back again
PHENOMENAL grilled salmon caesar salad. service was excellent. can’t wait to go back!!!
All plates great flavor! Amazing Burrata.
Dinner for 6 came out sporadically. The 6th main course came out as the first 3 were finishing theirs. Absolutely no apology Or comping of the late entree. Food was average.
Having been there many times it is unlikely we will return.
Our waitress tried her best to help us but kitchen was OUT OF CONTROL!! Waited over an hour for pizza that came wrong.
Sorry sarafina you are ruining your reputation!
Sitting next to a previous manager of your restaurant who was there for dinner, he to said he was never coming back..
Service was horrible. Hostess barely acknowledged us. Waited over 20 minutes for our reservation. No apologies, nothing. When we got upstairs finally only 2 table were occupied. I understand that this is a weird time. Going from take out and outdoor seating only and now adding indoor as well but come on people, it’s a restaurant and you now have customers coming in. At least be apologetic when things aren’t going smoothly. You also might want to get more waitstaff as the waitress upstairs couldn’t have been nicer, she seemed very much on her own
Serafina 79 was great! We had a reservation on Sunday evening and showed up with our two dogs. They were super accommodating and seated us outside, 15 minutes before our reservation while we waited for the rest of our party. The service and food were great, and I'd go back without a doubt!
Enjoyable! Shed a little noisy and service a little spotty but it must be a challenge for the restaurant to have people inside and out. They do seem a bit short staffed but I am sure with demand heightening every day, Serafina will rise to the challenge and take on additional staff. Food is always first rate.
Stopped for lunch after visiting the Met. Location was excellent, main courses were serviceable, dessert very nice. Very good service in the whole.
The manager on duty was very accommodating and our server was swift and knowledgeable. Food and wine were delicious and their outdoor set-up is very nice with well done safety protocols. Highly recommend!
Lunch with family
You went over the top to celebrate my daughters birthday. She and her friends were so delighted!!!!
Thank you Henry for keeping an eye on them!!!
The food was delicious and the dessert was out of this world. The girls floated out of the restaurant feeling like princesses!
the service was slow, order incorrect, and mediocre over-priced food
Wet flatware, non-garnished appetizer snd overcooked entree was overwhelmed by the noise level. Kids got in trouble and screamed all the time.
Service was abysmal. Food took forever. Salmon was NOT cooked to order. They’re in over their heads, for sure. Will not be back.
Fresh, tasty food cheerrful , good service, kid friendly
The third floor of this location is my favorite spot in NY for dining. Indoor dining with an outdoor ambience. Soaring ceilings and massive (open) windows. And, of course, the wonderful menu and service that you would expect at all Serafina locations.
Food was great - pricey though - but in line with the area
Wonderful service; terrific welcome; delicious food- perfectly prepared!
Serafina 79 is a very reliable spot. There was construction next door which was more funny than annoying to us, it made us laugh that our first foray out after months of being home was meet by that beloved city experience, the jack hammer. But it was nothing that a glass of Prosecco and nice pasta couldn't cure!
Wonderful as always.
We were visiting NYC and needed to find a place to eat that was Upper Eastside, fine dining, quiet enough to hear ourselves, and COVID- safe: quite the challenge! And then I remembered Serafina! We made the reservation and arrived a few minutes early. They were gracious and seated us right away. Robert was especially kind and helpful, getting us drinks ASAP and leading us through a delightful and extensive list of specials clearly and with appropriate detail. We spent a lovely and leisurely evening catching up with dear friends. Could not ask for a better dining experience, especially in the current climate.
Had lunch there on a week day! Wasn’t too crowded but still reservation is a way to go! Waiter forgot to bring my coffee. He also didn’t bring spoons for pasta orders and I had to get up and actually find someone to ask since he wasn’t around. Water was not refilled on time. They also charge a 10 percent covid recovery fee which is fine but service was just bad.
My family, friends and I love Serafina but am very upset that they have the nerve to charge 10% for a COVID recovery. It’s one thing to ask people to donate and another to put it on the bill. Sorry to say but won’t be coming back anytime soon because of this.
Wonderful visit -good fresh food, relaxing atmosphere, great staff, respectful spacing of patrons. This is a place I’ll return to.
As I dont want lots of people going there at lunch it was extreme;y good.
As goo as I remembered pre-pandemic. The shaved Brussel sprout sals was devine!
And the same for my thin-crusted sautéed portobello mushrooms and Bechemal
Best place to go to catch up with friends, while enjoying delicious Italian food
I usually do not check my bill, but this time I did after the fact-was billed for three items we did not have. The restaurant was not that busy, but felt rushed, and then on top of it billed for items we did not order.
I will contact them and see how they respond.
They responded quickly and effectively. I am quite satisfied and will go back.
Service was minimal, not very attentive
The service was helpful and courteous. My pasta dish was excellent
That truffle pizza is everything! But also, the tiramisu.
The staff were friendly and the setting was very nice. But our order took forever to arrive and, when it did, the pizza was cold. It was then replaced quickly and politely. But the experience was a bit disappointing. The pizza itself was good.
Awesome experience w/ Birthday plate
We sat outside with heaters and it was fabulous! They did a great job with the outside dining. Service and food wonderful as always!
