Last night went for a late Mother's day and a little early Father's day meal at @sevenparkplace in the @stjameshotelandclub , a lovely little hotel near Mayfair, we had to have the Tasting menu as that's the only menu available on the weekend, The food was fantastic and full of flavour the first course which was Lobster was probably the best Lobster I have ever had, the service was friendly and very helpful, (gave us a very good wine choice) the restaurant not being that busy still had a lovely and relaxed atmosphere, all in all I would 100% recommend this place its was a fantastic evening.
Amazing food - one of the best meals we’d ever had!
Very good value for money, good wine pairing, service a bit patchy, decor a bit sombre, really enjoyed our meal
We were given a voucher by my daughter to use at this resturant. Excellent choice. Dining area not too big. Service attentive. Food delightful.
Nice touch with a small soup to start and a tray of small bite size desserts.
The food was very delicious. The red pepper butter is something great on everything. The beef with patatoe mash was tender and superb. The lobster soup was rich in flavour and something I want to eat every day! Stuff were great and friendly. Lady who served our table was very polite helpful eventhough we use a Virgin experience voucher with discount offer which she point out had a free champane for which I didnt realy notice. This lunch we had was avsolute pleasure. Well done everyone
Nona was excellent and very helpful
The staff were friendly and the food was good
Me and my friend had a great time. Our waiter was friendly and gave us advise on the menu. The food was fantastic just like the waiter explained . A lovely place to catch up and have lunch. I used my buyagift voucher.
Very disappointing sadly. Having visited 4 years ago and enjoying a wonderful experience, this was completely the opposite. Not very friendly and everything seemed an effort. No cheese board as no delivery that day yet they are round tbe corner from Fortnum and Mason to buy some. Food was served far too quickly, felt like being in a fast food restaurant!
Then we were overcharged and had to dispute the bill. They did agree and admitted it was their mistake.
This was supposed to be a treat after lovkdoen and a real anticlimax. I will not be returning.
We had a really good time.
The place was not busy and this has added to the overall enjoyment!
The food and the service were as expected and I would recommend this place to everyone.
Had a table of 4 booked for lunch to celebrate my birthday. We had the Gourmand tasting menu with myself and two daughters choosing the wine pairing. Fabulous food great service lovely wine accompaniment, perfect pace between courses. This was my third visit to the restaurant due to equally enjoyable experiences from the lunch set menu.
A very enjoyable meal with good service and a warm atmosphere.
Delicious food. The lunch menu is exceptional value. There is the option of matching wines with the lunch menu which we have had a many previous visits, this time however the wine was very minimal with the starter and main course which was disappointing.
Highly recommend for ambience, food and service. As the restaurant is on the small side there is no restriction on your time for lunch, dinner unlike other establishments.
Excellent lunch in a beautiful restaurant. Good choice of food at great value. Wine pairings delicious also. Will continue to return. Thanks
Amazing experience. Delightful staff, delicious food and wine.
I last visited and gave the restaurant an unequivocal 5 stars. Sadly this visit was not as good. The restaurant is a nice place to eat and the food of a very high quality.
The problem was it was last night before tier 3 and it was busy and they only had 6 front of house staff so service was not as expected. What really was poor was the wine service. I Chose a £100 bottle of white but the sommelier tried to upsell me to £350 bottle. Now I know enough about restaurants wine list markups to know so will not pay £350 for a bottle that retails at £100. I ordered a bottle of red that arrived as we we were finishing our main course. I refused to accept it. Credit to the sommelier he apologised and gave us four glasses on the house.
As I say the restaurant was stretched but at this level and price point it is no excuse. It spoilt what should have been a great evening. I will go again to see if we can capture the magic of my first visit.
Great as always. Thanks for an excellent night all
Perhaps our eighth time of coming to William Drabble (over as many years) and it would always have been 5 stars in the past. Food was good - but I can get 'good' anywhere - service was OK, but the annoyance was a wine pairing that was second rate and meanly served. It was served autocratically (not given tastes or options) and after a lengthy explanation of the wine's wonders - nothing impressed. I still have great confidence that William Drabble is a very fine chef - but cost pressures are perhaps cutting standards. Great pity - but I doubt that we'll ever return.
Functional service - missed offering the cheese course on the menu gourmand and a glass of red wine with the meat course
Food was attractively presented and tasted pretty good although I would say it‘s not one of the best Michelin starred restaurants we’ve dined in. The biggest issue I had was that the food was only warm rather than hot. Given there were only 6-8 of us dining at any given time, I couldn’t understand why. The service was impeccable.
Wonderful from start to finish!
We had a nice lunch and service was good and quick. We really enjoyed! Chocolate pudding was delicious ....
A lunchtime outing. In view of the Covid problems and fear of what is coming next we thought "it's time to treat ourselves". We opted for the full works. Tasting menu and paired premium wines. As expected small plates of wonderful dishes... the good bit's of a normal plate of food. Service faultless, food fantastic. A total of eight courses. With six (or was it seven !!) matching wines.
A wonderful and as you might expect very extravagant meal. Prawn, smoked salmon, lobster bisque and a separate lobster dish, foie gras, turbot, venison, a mouth cleanser and finally a deconstructed lemon tart. Some classic wine pairings and a couple of new taste for me.. a Swiss white and a South African sweet wine. The final bill was BIG !! but we might not be able to go out soon.. so if you want to push the boat out this is the place to go.
Very enjoyable lunch experience, great service and good food !
Great food and service. Restaurant was very quiet (probably because of level of diners during COVID).
As ever, great food, fully worthy of a Michelin star
Service was not up to a Michelin star restaurant. Food was fair, nothing special really. And wine prices were overpriced.
It was vert relaxed atmosphere, food was delicious and the wines to go with each coarse were lovely. The only negative was that the coarses were very rushed with very little time between.
I have now words. Perfection. The best business meal for one I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy.
It was a very enjoyable lunch. We had a tasting menu of 7 courses. Size of a portion was just right, taste was great, services were excellent It was very quiet over lunch as not a lot of customers but the chef was still doing his best to provide good quality of food.
A pleasant meal, pleasant ambiance, well-cooked food, charming staff, but cuisine lacked innovation. A “safe” meal and undoubtedly a good one, but not a memorable one.
Really lovely lunch. Great value set lunch with matching wines. The only thing was that the courses felt quite rushed and close together but that may have been because it was lunchtime.
Lunch menu excellent value for money. Service fist class. The menu choice is limited but gives you the chance to try something different. We chose the ox cheek. Would never order normally but it was excellent. Never tasting anything so full of flavour. Absolutely recommend the whole experience
Had high hope for this michelin star restaurant? had a tasting menu that day, food was average. the spoon was not clean at 1 of the course. I won't go there again.
The food at Seven Park Place was excellent, and I thought the three course dinner with various amuse-bouche, palate cleansers, chocolates and glass of bubbles represented excellent value for money. The service was very sharp and attentive, and despite the room being somewhat physically disjointed the staff were immediate available whenever needed. The main disappointment is the venue itself. The dining room was warm to the point of being uncomfortable, the toilets were dirty, and the dining room felt cramped & disjointed and not befitting of the quality of food and service. I think William Drabble and his team are doing wonderful work, but let down by a poor environment.
This was my second visit to this restaurant after having thoroughly enjoyed the experience on the first occasion. However the experience this time around was no where as good as the first. It all started with the menu, the one on their website and on OpenTable bears no resemblance to what's being offered in the restaurant. When I enquired about this the waiter's response was 'we were in lockdown for 3 months so you have to ignore everything you see on the website'. Not acceptable as many other, less prestigious, restaurants have taken the time to update theirs. That being said they did accommodate a different starter but when my partner asked about the desert the response was 'it is what it is'...ie take it or leave it. Again, not the sort of response you expect. The food itself was also average, it tasted good, but you expect more than good from a Michelin starred restaurant. I also don't usually comment on toilet facilities, as I haven't had to, but the ones here were an absolute mess! Lockdown or not, if you're open for business you should ensure your facilities are clean. I left feeling really disappointed.
Absolutely lovely birthday lunch with friends.
Had the 3 course lunch and paired wine , couldn't fault it
Excellent food and brilliant service in a stunning environment.
No aircon (due to Covid apparently) when the weather is so warm is problematic.
Wonderful evening, great food and service. Thank you very much
Our first visit for some months (for obvious reason!) and what joy! Fuelled by our memories of pre Covid era of exceptionally high standards for quality of food and service we braved the heatwave and hoped for a very pleasant lunch. The heat notwithstanding, the whole experience was superb from start to finish. In fact both of us felt that, unbelievably, everything seemed to have been taken to an even higher level. Thank you everybody for all your hard work in these extremely hot conditions and we look forward to another visit.
