About
Head Chef Stefano Motta has crafted a diverse menu creating the perfect blend between some of the best seasonal produce as well as delivering dishes using international influences and techniques.
We were very disappointed with our meal here. It took almost an hour to place our order despite the fact we were one of two occupied tables there (we were a party of 4). When the mains eventually came, one of the orders was wrong. Someone had ordered a burger without cheese. The waiter took the order back and we watched as the chef then scraped the cheese from the burger and sent it back. As the person who ordered it had a cheese allergy she had to send it back and wait for another to be cooked. By the time the burger arrived, the rest of us had long finished the meal. We weren't offered any discount or compensation for this. Food was average and over priced. Approx £130 for 4 burgers and a drink each. Would not recommend or return here.
Cadre très sympa avec vue sur la cuisine et siège très confortable. Peu de choix mais grande qualité. Serveur très serviable.
Sherlock's Bar & Grill was fine for lunch, although extremely quiet on the weekday we dined. The food was OK, the rib-eye steak was a little fatty and tough, although cooked nicely on the charcoal grill which helped the taste. They charged for side dishes which were a good size and value. Service was reasonably attentive, although with only 4 other diners it should have been.
Overall, a little disappointing and I probably would not return again as there is so much more choice in the area and the food/restaurant was average.
As Sherlock fans visiting London, we just had to go to Baker Street, and dining at Sherlock's was just perfect. The food was excellent, high quality, the waiter was very friendly and even spoke a few words in French with us. Such an elegant place. My daughter and I enjoyed that diner to its fullest.
Booked for a 50th Birthday celebration, we arrived earlier than planned expecting some resistance but the team couldn't be more accommodating. Wonderful waiter Kostas, looked after every single one of us at the table appropriately. Couldn't recommend a visit more highly.
This was a friend get together. We arrived early (for 6pm) and they opened the Restaurant for us which was really nice.
Food was good. Service good. We had the 50% discounted meal. Fantastic value. Would definitely go there again.

Very nice food and good service
This was a really pleasant experience and we felt absolutely at ease with the staff. My only heavy critique must be on the level of salt in the main courses. Having a heavily salted swordfish with olives in a salted tomato sauce made finishing my meal quite a struggle. Not only that but my friend's pasta dish was salted, on top of the butter and Parmesan that made the dish. All that said, I will definitely be back to give it a fair go. Wonderful place!
Not enough characters available to explain all. No presentation, overpriced, fish cooked in a dirty pan tasted like burnt, waiter did not check back on mains or starters. Will never go back.
We love Sherlock's. It is our fave haunt. Been going there for years. BUT... this was a disappointing experience. Service was slow although they tried their best.
Great food; slightly pricey and "discretionary" but enforced 12.5% tip left it quite pricey. I only had fish mains & two glasses of red wine (£7ea) and my bill was £42.
Nice venue, good food and food value for a business lunch
Saturday and very quiet, great for conversation but very little ambience and fell awkward in being one of two tables in the room.
Sadly not much innovation and choice in the menu, although cooked nicely enough.
Staff were lovely and chatted with ease.
I have stayed at this hotel many times and now live nearby. Coming here for Christmas Day dinner was like coming home. The cozy, unpretentious atmosphere with its warm wood, and low key Sherlockian art (not kitsch, not overdone) and the always lovely wait staff make me feel welcome. The food was, as it always is, excellent. A t festive turkey meal with starter and dessert was satisfying, delicious, and included a glass of prosecco and a Christmas cracker. There were young couples, old couples, and families with children, and all seemed to be having a good time. This is a very underrated place to dine, the chef is surprisingly creative and gifted. I recommend it highly. Good bar drinks as well.
A very pleasant surprise for a hotel restaurant, food was was really nice and very freshly prepared...you can see them preparing it in the open kitchen. Good portions, squid starter and cod fillet were delicious. Would definitely go again, even though we were the only people in the restaurant for lunch which was surprising given jow good the food was.
Had a xmas lunch with my parents on Sunday. We didn't really enjoy the food there, quite disappointing. I think it's possibly due to fact they wanted to offer attractive prices with sacrificing quality, or maybe the kitchen hasn't mastered in cooking the brand new xmas menu yet.
Haven't tried the normal A la carte menu there, so no comments on that.
However, the waiter on sunday did his best to keep us happy, high rate to the service.
Poor service- booking was for 1230pm for lunch but dining room was closed and guests had to wait until table was being prepared. Had to wait a long time for drinks to be served and extra bottles of water were provided, which were not required nor asked for and were charged. Food was average but for the prices not good quality for money
We used to go to this restaurant often but unfortunately we did not enjoy it so much this time. The food was okay but not special and we and another couple were the only people in the restaurant
great dining, food, attentive service, set menu great value, drinks are dear
A nice time was had by all! The restaurant was a little bit busier than it had been on previous occasions but the service was still extremely good.
a great food selection good service and we could talk to each other easily without shouting. we all had a great meal.
I expected a proper restaurant attached to a hotel, but what it is, is a hotel dining hall but with better chairs.
Food was good, but if it hadden been for the 50% off promotion (min. of 2 courses) the value for Money would not have added up, escpecially because of slow service (even though there were only 3 other smaller Companys, besides us) and the lack of ambience.
Very efficient and friendly. Place was pretty empty for midday. Food was good and there was plenty of prosecco to drink!
Our table was a mixed cultured background gang that night, and some of them talked really loud as it it their culture to be enthusiastic in that occasion, however it did cause inconvenience to some of the other guests, I apologized to the table next to us, but most impressively, our waiter handle it very delicately, so we r highly satisfied with his service and customer skills. We really enjoyed that night, we'll definitely come back again for more if the environment of the restaurant remains friendly and understanding like this time.
Went for lunch for my sisters birthday. The restaurant was very quiet so lacked a bit of atmosphere. Very pleasant surroundings and it gives a nod to its namesake. The food was delicious and service excellent. I would recommend for lunch or dinner.
Slow slow slow and even though stakes good let down by being SL cool , tiny portions of fries and slow service - no excuse as place only had 3 tables of diners -
Food was good, staff were excellent and very good value for money with the offer. Would highly recommend.
I was a little dubious as some of the previous reviews had concerns about the quality of the food, but I was pleasantly surprised. My hangar steak was excellent and if you're hungry enough for 2 courses, the 50% off deal is excellent value.
The service was a highlight as our unusual arrangements were accommodated with little fuss and excellent guest relation skills.
A little bit of gem tucked away at the back of a hotel. Got to say we were both very impressed with everything from the food to the service. Would definitely return
Although it was convienent to just come downstairs to the restaurant for food, we felt the menu was very limited, we had dinner in there on the first night the food and service was good however when we went back in for lunch the following day the menu was exactly the same as the night before if you were a fan of fish you may fair well otherwise the steak is pretty much all you can go for we stayed here for 3 days and the menu never changed! Variety is the spice of life and having a menu that was constantly the same made for boring lunches and dinners.. so my advice would be maybe go in for one meal but definitely look around for other places to eat if your staying for a few days.
this the secong time that me and my partner have visited shelocks in the last couple of years
the food is excellent especially the lamb and the service is fantantastic and would like to say a special for alberto who was very helpful i would recomend this restaurant to anyone but more for couples as my wife really enjoyed it
Not the friendliest of places:
Too pushy to make you order quickly, even though it was a quiet lunchtime,
Not the friendliest of staff at all,
Steak was stringy and chewy, not cooked well or as expected and poor quality meat,
Forgot part of our meal and we had chase them for it, and
Poor value for money.
First and last time I take a client there let alone go back myself!
Sherlock's is the restaurant for the hotel. We were welcomed and shown to our table. First waiter tried to take our order but could not answer the question whether the shared starter was coverd by the 50% off offer. He went away to find out but never returned. The original waiter/greeter then took our order and confirmed only 25% discount on shared starters. Food was very good, well prepared and presented. Needed to order a side dish which means overall price increases. The service was a little eccentric and the restaurant lacked atmosphere. Without the 50% off offer would have been expensive.
Staff were amazingly friendly and service great.
The 50% off starters & mains deal means the dinner is good menu.
The food was good, though unspectacular, and the service a little slow. The dining room is nice but a little sterile and you are aware you're in a hotel restaurant.
That said, we found little to complain about (bar 1 diner's tough steak) and it worked well for us as a group of 9 people looking to dine on a Friday evening.
Very inexperienced staff during a Saturday lunch, and surprisingly we were the only people there. Food was ok(ish). Would not come back.
A friend and I had a dinner to catch up and the service was great. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
We went on a Monday after swimming and had a great value meal. For dinner in central London the 50% of starters and mains is great value. Definitely recommend the deal.
A good evening out at Sherlocks with our group of lads. Good food. The small team of waiters did heroics keeping on top of things as the restaurant filled.
Everything is great except for the lack of staff, we waited too long to get our drinks and orders......
We arrived at 6pm to have a nice dinner on 24.12. We stood there for several minutes before anyone came asking what we needed. We could choose a table on our own though we had made a booking.
All in all going from there the service was nice and always close to serve what needed or ask if everything was ok.
The food was good and tasty, only the meat of one dish was not medium like ordered but well done and addittionally burned. After complaining it was taken away without any difficulties and replaced with a now proper dish. That little flaw didn't do anything against us enjoying our stay there.
The atmosphere was nice and quiet and invites to stay a little longer.
