Amazing, most definitely going back!! Highly recommended
Our first visit but certainly wont be the last small but intimate restaurant. Great service and good menu. I had salmon and crayfish starter followed by the kangaroo steak served medium rare. It was amazing - melted in the mouth. Hubby had the scallop and chorizo starter followed by fillet steak. Great presentation and perfect portion sizes, all washed down with a couple of champagne cocktails and a lovely bottle of pinot noir. All Very reasonably priced great service from the waiters who were helpful and friendly without being intrusive or patronising. All in all a great dining experience.
Excellent food, service and very laid back. Would recommend to anyone who likes quality food and drink
Delicious food. Unusual items on menu. Champagne per glass well priced.
We had a lovely meal for my husbands birthday. Food was beautiful
Love this place. Food was fantastic and service was great
Really enjoyed visiting here for my fiances birthday meal. The food was nice, waiting staff very efficient and courteous. Great selection of drinks and the price wasn't too bad. Great atmosphere and very welcoming. Will definitly come again
The food and the service were very good . Our waiter was very helpful with our choices . There was hand sanitizer when you came In and everyone was in their own place .
Lovely food, great service. Overall great experience!
Went to the silk room on Saturday everything was COVID safe, staff were very friendly and outstanding food. We didn’t feel rushed with the 10.00pm curfew. Would highly recommend and will definitely return. 5 out of 5 for everything
Birthday celebration
We were very impressed with the variety of menu especially vegetarian options . Food was great - service was brilliant and it all summed up a wonderful night . Thank you .
Not what I expected restaurant's decor was very dark, food was OK but for the money I paid should have been a lot better
Got 2 items on my bill which I hadn't ordered & a gratuitous of £16.80 wheni only saw the staff when bringing food or wine to the table,
Next table to me were not happy either , won't be going back
Steak was up there with one of the best👌🏼
It was unfortunate that the new lockdown imposition on Newcastle hospitality venues brought cancellation of bookings on the restaurant. That said, it was also unfortunate for me that the only other customers in the restaurant that evening were raucous to the point of being at times deafening. The waiter sympathised but was reluctant to act.
So much for the background, which I admit could possibly have affected my attitude to the evening.
I had the scallop starters. According to the menu the scallops were to be accompanied by chorizo and pea purée but these were in such small measures as to be barely discernible. The lamb shank with mixed veg side for main course was well cooked. The cheesecake I had for dessert was fine.
I paid the 10% service charge. I feel sorry for these places as they must be struggling to survive in the current difficult times, but I did feel the meal was a little overpriced. With a cocktail, small wine and service I paid just over £60. My advice to anyone wishing to save on the bill would be to avoid the scallops starter.
Lovely champagne, perhaps should have left it at that. Quite expensive food for what it was, decor was outdated and didn't give luxurious vibe that was expected. The waiters were however wonderful and very friendly and attentive.
Food very good. Sensible sized menu. No bitter. Good service. Nice place.
Visited for the wagyu burger and the food was great but the service was incredibly poor and to make it worse there was a service charge , not sure I’d go back
Food was pleasant enough but the place itself was a bit shabby - toilets not great with items piled up outside. Just looked overall tired when u had a look round - would not return but as I said the food was fine just let down by the restaurant itself. Staff were lovely - nothing to complain about there
Had the loveliest night, would absolutely recommend!
Service was a little slow but overall a really enjoyable evening and great food
Fantastic food, fantastic staff...... and great food.
Amazing restaurant on the quayside, great atmosphere and splendid food and staff.
Amazing food, amazing service. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you so much all the staff had smiles on their faces and and everything was Perfect.
Food was amazing wine was good x and service was fab all in all a great date night
Amazing food in a really cute setting, would definitely return!
We and my wife had a table booked as part of the 'eat out to help out' scheme. It was also our anniversary. We were seated in a nice spot which seemed out the way of others which was quite refreshing. After our starters other guests arrived. There was a table with 2 girls and a table with a couple sat next to us. They weren't 2m away which left my wife rather anxious given the current climate. We ended up taking our wine outside to finish due to the restaurant becoming rather busy. This is literally the only negative I have for the restaurant.
Great food
My daughter & I went on Tuesday 25/8. Had a kir champagne & a glass of black label Lanson - very nice. Ordered a bottle of NZ Sauvignon Blanc which was really nice.
Daughter had scallops & I had king prawns to start - both were lovely - as was our mains - the ravioli & the Wagu burger (huge). Good food, good service everything was very enjoyable. Would def go back.
I enjoyed a safe relaxing night out with my husband eating and drinking some delicious food
Delicious food and wine. Great service and very safe environment in light of coronavirus.
Steak was overcooked. Waiters weren’t attentive. Wine was very average.
Excellent food and felt very safe very pleasant staff
Wasn’t as good as the first time I visited was quit disappointed as I’ve been waiting to go back went bk for my birthday but wasn’t as good
Pea purée with the scallop starter was fairly watery and the chorizo was slightly burnt in places. The Lamb was outstanding but the garnish was very poor. Mash potato was bland and lumpy, the carrots and veg were bland, basic, and underdone. For the price and setting I expected a higher standard of food. Overall it was a good evening for my birthday meal but I was slightly let down by the standard of food. For the prices being charged I was hoping for slightly more. Decided not to go for dessert based on the first two courses. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very good. Lovely setting and overall a good evening, sadly let down by the standard of the food of which I expected more for a £200 bill.
Anniversary
Very nice, food and drinks perfect, will be back next time we’re in Newcastle
Good service charge added and £1 for soda water in drinks
The food and service was excellent. I think the way they handled the restrictions was also good and well executed
Great food with friendly staff the burger was lovely and nice automesphere
