Simpson's In The Strand
Guests can also enjoy classic cocktails in Knight’s Bar, an art deco cocktail lounge located on the first floor. It is the perfect place to enjoy either a pre-dinner cocktail or after-dinner aperitif.
The roast beef is simply sublime !
Everything about the place- the service - the quality of the food and wine is just great. The pianist is great too. Loved it
Our third visit to Simpson’s. Always enjoyable. Great food and great staff. The pudding of baked Alaska was particularly tasty.
As usual the service and food were outstanding but I do have a criticism this time. The pianist was way too loud. I enjoy some background music but this was far too loud. My elderly parents really couldn't hear what I was saying much of the time which did slightly spoil their experience. I cannot fault Simpsons in every department except for this one thing, maybe lower the pianist volume by about 50%, just a suggestion.
Very good food and nice ambience
We left our glasses and it was kept and return to us
On vacation from the US.
My husband and I came for dinner before seeing a play. The staff was attentive, accommodating, and informed. The food was excellent, and it was an overall wonderful start to a wonderful night.
This was the second visit for my wife and I and once again Simpson's produced an outstanding meal, the roast beef is so tasty and the gravy is a true joy! The service at Simpson's is second to none and you're made to feel very special. If I'm in town and fancy a roast this is where I'll be heading.
Had a really lovely time. Staff were so attentive, from the warm welcome to a cheerio goodbye. Nothing was too much, even the Manager providing reading glasses to peruse the menu. The wine was refreshing, the food from Starters to Dessert was very well presented and tasted absolutely (for want of a better word) yummy. Our waitress, Nina was easy to talk to, conversation flowed. All staff were professional but definitely friendly. The piano music was a very nice relaxing touch.
Yes, I will definitely return and recommend Simpsons to friends and family.
Amazing service and atmosphere!!!!!!! Definitely will go back again
Highly recommended wonderful setting and beautiful ambiance
I was celebrating my birthday and we had a fantastic time.
Excellent as always
Absolutely loved this restaurant! The room is beautiful and the food was amazing! Loved the classic service and history of the room!
Make a reservation.
Staff are numerous and helpful.
Sommelier will counsel on wine selection by bottle AND by glass.
Carving cart is quite a show.
Dress appropriately. Business casual
Simpson's is one of my favourite restaurants when visiting London, and it never disappoints. An effort was made for my parents wedding anniversary, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
The evening was made by Sam, our waiter. An absolute delight and a real gem! Clone him.....
Superior English dining. High quality food and service. Amazing beef Wellington! I would highly recommend this restaurant. Expensive but well worth it.
Food was decent but extremely poor service. Pity such an institution is going down.
Not worth the money.
Beautiful room, great service and food!
Food is superb. The service was rather disconnected and not orderly or personalized.
We visited Simpsons for our 1st wedding anniversary, in addition to the amazing food (the best roast beef I have ever had), we also received a handwritten card congratulating us as well as a personal message written in chocolate on a plate along with some delicious chocolates.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The best service that I have ever had at a restaurant. Perfect choice for a very special birthday. Kids menu is a good value.
Food was lovely, and just the right portions - you didn't feel rushed during the meal, we savored every moment - our waiter was brilliant, extremely attentive, polite and helpful
Dinner was amazing and service was exceptional! Live piano and vocals lent a great atmosphere.
Their service was perfect!! It took 15minitus until they serve us desserts after the order, but, never mind!
Superb high quality dining experience as usual! Great service. Surprised the restaurant was so quiet for lunch in June.
It's usual traditional best.Carnivour's delight and great cocktails.
Food is always great! i always go there with friends for special occasions. however i found it very noisy this time - its because of the singing of the pianist. i personal find it very distracting while im talking to friends. its not a jazz bar!
Always a treat to eat at Simpsons. The food is stunning - no better example of roast beef to be found! The service is thoughtful and attentive without being in any way overbearing. Gold standard across the board
I took my daughter and her beau to Simpsons during a stay in London. It was a perfect pre-theatre dinner, with three courses and a nice Pinot Noir. I heard of Simpsons from a classmate who had just celebrated her 40th wedding anniversary here.
The place is lovely, the service outstanding, the food divine. Highly recommended!
A classic! Great.
What a meal! We were here to celebrate my husband's 50th Birthday and it was fantastic. We had a pre-dinner drink in the Knights Bar and were able to peruse the menu, we were given some advice by one of the waiters as this was our first visit, so glad we took his advice and only had a light starter otherwise we would not have done justice to the star of the show - roast beef from the carving trolley. This just melted in your mouth, the accompaniments of roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and buttered cabbage were just right.
The excellent service from all of the waiters was a pleasure and we would thoroughly recommend a visit to Simpon's In the Strand - we would certainly go back if we are in London again.
Excellent atmosphere, service, and food!
Enough choices on the menu.
One small gripe, the chef could go a little easy on the amount of salt added to certain dishes.
We celebrated my 50th birthday at Simpson’s! Everything was fabulous from beginning to end. Sam, our server, was incredibly attentive! It was such a special night.
We had a lovely evening at Simpsons, the staff were very friendly and spent time explaining the history of the restaurant and generally engaging with us which we liked. I had the Wellington and the wife had the fish in beer batter both were superb along with the deserts. We will definitely going back again.
If one is looking for a classic British cuisine, Simpson’s in the Strand (established in 1828) should meet most of your requirements. The staff were very polite and provided us impeccable service. As per the recommendation of the Sommelier, we tried an English Sparkling Wine, Ridgeview Cavendish. We highly recommend it!
Then we ordered Scallops, Deviled Eggs and Lobster Bisque as appetizers. All of the items were fantastic, but the scallops were the best we’ve ever had. The presentation was also truly amazing, we video taped it!
We tried two very traditional English dishes, Beef Wellington and Carved Roast Beef. The Beef Wellington was cooked to perfection. The trolley arrived at our table where the servers carved the roast beef. It was such a fun experience. It was also served with Yorkshire Pudding, which I haven’t had since I was in 6th grade. The Yorkshire Pudding was so tasty, I could taste the drippings from the meat.
Wonderful staff serving excellent food. Trolley beef and lamb sublime and delicious fish pie and puds. Love this place!
Stunning dining room, very warm welcome on arrival, the cornish scallops and crab starters were delicious served with really good bread, the Beef Wellington didn't disappoint and the Lobster was nice but I personally would have preferred the lobster left in the shell and less sauce. I definitely would return to try more dishes. Service was well-timed and friendly.
