Simpson's In The Strand
Guests can also enjoy classic cocktails in Knight’s Bar, an art deco cocktail lounge located on the first floor. It is the perfect place to enjoy either a pre-dinner cocktail or after-dinner aperitif.
As usual, just very good.
Please have more vegetables variety e.g., carrots and parsnips with the Sunday roast.
We all felt thoroughly spoilt , excellent food , excellent service , fabulous environment and so relaxing . Would recommend Simpsons all day long.
Excellent experience in a “must to visit” restaurants in London, superb rosbeef, incredible lamb grilled and amazing desserts.
The most wonderful food I've ever eaten, didnt want it to end. Service was spot on and the restaurant fills like your eating somewhere special. No surprise we've been dining here for 20 years
Having visited Simpson's many times over the years, I was a little disappointed by my recent visit.
The change of menu has seen some of the classic dishes removed and replaced by some uninspired choices; the Devilled eggs would have been happy on a Beefeater menu in the 70's, a few mayo filled eggs with a bit of garnish really didn't light any fires and the scallops, although cooked well, just seemed to be a gastro pub offering from 5 years ago (The white pudding could have been crisper, the fat hadn't been rendered down and it was a little slimy)
The other menu choices didn't really inspire that you would be presented with a culinary delight or something that could be described as "Britain on a plate".
Fortunately the carving trolley has remained, the one thing that Simpson's is famous for. Unfortunately the price for this has increased by around 25% since my last visit just over a year ago.
This now seems extremely expensive, even by London prices, for what is a roast beef dinner.
This I feel may be my last visit to Simpson's.
Fabulous food and service. The perfect restaurant for a memorable occasion.
Unforgettable dinner in a special ambiance
Smart and sophisticated venue, to take someone special or for a special occasion.
Highly recommend a visit.
The food was amazing, the portion sizes were big enough and cooked to perfection.
Visited this restaurant with my mum for her birthday, service and atmosphere was great.
We always thoroughly enjoy our visits to Simpsons. My father started the tradition many years ago when, after business trips to London, he would say it was where one could get the best roast beef in London. He was right and we choose it today, whenever we visit Simpsons restaurant . I think my father would be pleased to know we are carrying on the tradition.
Everything was perfect. I was there to celebrate my birthday with my husband and daughter. I couldn't fault a thing. Had a wonderful time and we will be back
Excellent- the finest dining experience in London!
An institution. Certainly a bit stuffier if you’re a younger person who likes “hip” options, but everything they do, they do fantastically.
It was a lovely evening.
A friend from the stages had dined here 60+ years ago and told us we had to go. A bit concerned at first; no wine list when seating and our server just asked about water. Only because we had been warned in advance about not staying longer than 2 hours, we thought perhaps we were being rushed. After that, no issues; beef off the cart was marvelous, wine glasses always filled, etc.
Simpsons is superb. I cannot recall the number of times I have eaten here over the years, but every time is excellent. This was the second visit this week! The ambiance is great, piano playing in the background, staff attentive and friendly, food and drink great!
Excellent service food just as expected. Kid friendly
A very good evening. We arrived early and was accommodated straight away. Food was excellent as was the waiter a Frenchman by the name, I believe, of Harvey. It was our 51st anniversary and he made it special.
Wonderful meal, beautifully cooked, server and presented - and tasted wonderful! Lamb cutlet was perfect - and everything else was too! Great service from great staff!
Wonderful experience. Would love to go back. Food was excellent and service excellent.
friends and I ate there before a ballet. We informed the staff that we had only 90 mins. We ordered and then waited over 30 mins for the main to arrive. We then had to grab a waiter to pay as we had to dash off. The service seemed a bit slower than usual. The food was however still delicious
Enjoyed the entire experience, I would recommend to anyone visiting London.
Excellent roast beef in a traditional English setting
The service was really slow. Chateau briand very dry. Carving trolley was very tasty. Monkfish was cold. Asked for wilted spinach no oil/ butter - it was swimming in butter. Wines by the glass are extremely expensive. Attic roll very bland.
Monkfish was unbearably salty but otherwise good and I guess worth a visit
Not too formal, but dignified. The table service is excellent, polite well spoken young people who are enthusiastic about what they do.
Most enjoyable, a little on the pricey side perhaps but I'm not familiar with London prices so maybe not. Anyway to us it was worth it.
Just the best roast beef ever. Staff were excellent, creating a friendly and informal atmosphere whilst delivering a truly professional service.
the food was good, my husband did have a small problem with the shell fish which was dealt with, and the head chef kindly came to speak to us
the bill was reflected on with this
we made an observsion as apposed to a chritisisum
I hadn’t been there for many years although well used back then. Remembering the old days of full dining rooms upstairs and downstairs I was looking forward to returning. Simpsons are proud of their beef and rightly so. A full plate of some of the best beef I’ve had outside of the Americas. Great service but expensive, £41 for the meat and a few vegetables. With a starter and house wine it worked out at £95 a head. No desserts, no coffee. Others must agree because at a midweek lunch there were only 9 tables used downstairs and upstairs is now just an empty function room so ambiance suffered. I hope this is not the norm because I can’t see how they can survive at this rate. Find a way to give better value for money!
The food is exquisite and the attention and charm of the waiters make the whole experience wonderful.
Overall adecent experience because of the quality of the food, but service was seriously lacking. Our orders were taken and served promptly but thereafter had to search for a waiter to order desert. Our waiter never served the after dinner tea which we ordered, and had to approach waiter to request a check. Found wait staff to be unpleasant. Would not return for that reason.
As always a great meal. This time we met with overseas family and we all very much enjoyed the evening.
If you are a beef lover... this is the place for you. The beef was perfect, in fact couldn’t fault a thing. I will return to this restaurant every time I visit London. Highly recommended. Didn’t try any wine as I needed to keep on soft drinks but I can imagine the wine will match the beef nicely.
Booked for my daughters 21st Birthday dinner. Simpsons is quintessentially British and we loved it. Fantastic food and great service
Nice mood and roasted beef. I will recommend to my friend.
With family and friends service was not so good and long time to get the food
Just superb! Service excellent, food awesome. Well done
Fabulous food, ambiance and service!
The service was amazing! I surprised my wife with dinner for her birthday at the restaurant. The waiters did a great job in accommodating this special occasion. The food was exquisite too. We're definitely coming back.
Food excellent - service not as good as expected. Had difficulty understanding the waiter and food took a long time to serve. They apologised for the wait but there were only 4 table's occupied so service should have been quicker.
