Sir Winston's Aboard The Queen Mary
Over all had a great experience, the bone in New York was very disappointing, cocktails were great, oysters Rockefeller were great and the stuff shrimp were amazing. The lounge was super fun and cozy
Needs some updating. I understand they want to keep the original look but still needs some maintenance.
Poor, poor food. The good old days of this restaurant are gone, gone, gone....
The perfect dining experience. After being warmly welcomed and immediately seated, the waiter then treated us like royalty and as if we were the only diners there. The chef’s preparation of the rack of lamb was impeccable. Such a wonderful diner and a great way to start our vacation! Thank you, Sir Winston’s, aboard the Queen Mary.
We had been wanting to try Sir Winston’s for some time. We went for my boyfriends 55 th bday. I was so disappointed! The food was just ok. Our server was amazing , but the food was pricy and didn’t taste good.
Very expensive for a very average meal. Beef Wellington was massively overdone, vegetarian option (also a wellington) gave the convincing impression of having started its life as a petrol station pasty. Wine was nice and to be fair the service was excellent. Ultimately though, the food is cafeteria level. We had a much better meal in the Promenade Cafe the following morning for a quarter of the price.
My dad has a wonderful experience with his date. Tom the server took care of them very well. As always we will be back
Expensive and badly prepared food. My Beef Wellington was raw, not medium rare, and the pastry was soggy. In all an experience not worth it. Had to walk outside to get to the restaurant in pouring rain, no inside access.
Absolutely fabulous experience. We got there early and explored a bit of the ship before going up to Sir. Winston’s.
We got lucky as it was a quieter night and there was maybe four other parties in the restaurant. They placed us by a window overlooking downtown Long Beach, and provided excellent food and a very fine dining experience.
10/10 recommend for a nice date option. Do dress up, as it is a bit more on the ritzier side of things.
Also - a special thank you to our awesome server, Benjamin. Very friendly and informative.
Fine dining in a classic atmosphere
I ordered the stuffed lobster shell, and that is exactly what I got... a lobster SHELL with a lot of crackers inside of it and very few bits and pieces of shrimp and scallop. The only actual lobster I got were the claws laid out on the side of the shell. I couldn't help but wonder where my actual lobster tail went to. I paid $62 for this and was utterly disappointed, assuming that I would actually get the lobster meat that came with the lobster. The ambiance was very nice, however, and the waiter was very attentive.
Our dinner at Sir Winston’s was unfortunately a disappointment. While the ambiance, view, and service were stellar, the food was very bland and not of a quality we would expect from a restaurant that has received so many stars. The dessert was even disappointing. It was not the birthday dinner I expected, that’s for sure. Overpriced and over hyped. Thank goodness for the extraordinary wait staff! They were the highlight.
I feel relaxed eating at this place. Waiters were accommodating with my request very promptly. Very nice view & got to walk around the boat without any problems
You come here for the view and the incredible service. The food is good, if overpriced... but what stands out is the atmosphere. Sitting by the window, looking out at the ocean, watching the sunset -- it's so lovely and relaxing.
Excellent! My husband had veal and I had the filet mignon. We were staying aboard to celebrate my birthday and Sir Winston's was my favorite part! Food was cooked to perfection and delicious. Server was very attentive, just like "the old days". A thoroughly enjoyable experience, albeit a bit pricey.
Had the Surf & Turf and the lobster was tough and chewy.
Ok time. Nice venue, wish the service was a little better.
Great view and food excellent
We had a great time at the restaurant. The food was very good and price was reasonable. It is a bit difficult to find the entrance but otherwise it is awesome.
The food was disappointing.
Booked it for our anniversary and it was excellent. The food was great and the servers were very attentive and explained everything as it was our first time. The view from the Queen Mary was breathtaking, love it and would recommend it to our friends and family for future gatherings.
Excellent service and outstanding food. The views are endless
The venue is great. The food mediocre. The price is high
David is the best server!
Fantastic atmosphere, food and service. Great for a romantic evening!
Very nice experiense and great food
Good bar and nice tables close to window with the view
We had a lovely birthday meal with my daughter and her 10 year old daughter. They were very nice to us. The waiter was especially kid friendly. They gave me a birthday treat, cheesecake with a candle, and didn't sing the song. Thank you!
The food was excellent & the server was kind & helpful!
This restaurant is located aboard Queen Mary. The interior of the ship is well worn and shoddy, but the restaurant looks to be much better maintained. The menu is varied, most entree items are a la carte. All entrees got a thumbs up from our party. The chateaubriand is served with mashed potatoes and vegetables as well as two sauces and it was perfectly cooked. The beef wellington got rave reviews as did the veal oscar and filet mignon medallions. Gracious and attentive service and the quiet atmosphere were appreciated as the rest of the ship can be noisy and crowded.
The experience was fantastic and the food was delicious. We stay aboard the ship and enjoyed a nice dinner here with our daughter. They had a kid plate that was not listed on the menu but was greatly appreciated. We shared the two person steak and it was amazing.
Celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. Started with champagne sorbet to cleanse our palate. Had the "special" Surf and Turf--filet mignon and lobster. It was superb! The service was impeccable with David our server and Reggie, his helper. They brought us a mini cheese cake on a plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate--totally unexpected and quite yummy. A great place for a very special occasion.
Benjamin was our waiter and we could not have asked for better service. All of the wait staff was friendly and professional. The food was exceptional. The atmosphere fabulous. Thanks for an amazing evening!
Delicious food and state of the art service! Such a beautiful dinner with my family while we visited the queen Mary. Just be sure to note this restaurant is very expensive! But definitely completed our entire experience.
Everything was excellent. The view, the attention, the food. I suggest to have an accessory for handicapped people. Thos was the only negative comment I can add.
Pricey, but was there for 50th anniversary for 3 couples. Good food and service, and they brought out a very nice anniversary desert for each couple. Would have liked a broader menu, but there was just enough for most people to find something to like.
The Beef Wellington and Filet were excellent. Our server Jesus made our dining experience wonderful. We have dined there before and will definitely be back again.
All of our food except the soup came out warm. It tasted very good but by the time we were 3 bites in it was cold. This was not a problem with the chef. Our waiter seemed to be very busy, we were there 10 minutes before he came to our table and longer for a drink order. The waiter asked how our dinner was and we told him. He brought his manager to the table and she offered us a free dessert which we declined. I believe we should have been offered gift cards for a future visit. Based off this visit for the money and food I will not be returning. They did send chocolate covered strawberries to our table.
The venue is historic and quite unique. You can arrive early and tour the ship. This is my second time at Sir Winstons. The food is overpriced, but you are paying for the location. That said, the food should be very good. It wasn't. The lamb chops were extremely large, and 90% fat. Three order of Filet Minon all ordered Medium or Medium Well, were are served RARE......and they were butterflied. One order at the table was just the wrong item, a mistake that they recovered from quickly, but it added to an overall negative experience. Its an awesome spot for an upscale dinner, the prices reflect that, and the service was very good......now work on the food and make it great.
Anniversary dinner w/ my wife. Her meal was amazing (rack of lamb), but my Beef Wellington was only so-so. Our drinks and appetizers were great, but my supposed to be mid-rare Wellington was undercooked (cool inside actually). I had to send it back; it returned warm, but still basically raw. So I gave up on the steak and went after the mashed potatoes, which had way too much garlic in them to be enjoyable. Dessert was good and they even brought out a happy anniversary plate for a nice touch. Ambiance of the restaurant is amazing just wish my steak had been cooked properly and they’d have taken it easy on the garlic in the mash.
We had a 5 pm reservation. My husband needs a cane, and has difficulty standing for very long. We stood outside the door until 5:10 pm, along with about a dozen other people, and we were very cold, due to ocean breeze. They could have easily seated us in the foyer until they were ready to seat us. Our service was average at best, and our waiter didn't speak good English. The food was fine, but very average, and overpriced.
