I think I expected the Sky Lounge to be more exclusive than it actually was. It’s a nice venue, but not what I expected. I was unsure of the dress code and I felt a little over dressed. There were lots of people in fairly casual clothing, we visited at 8.30pm so I did expect a more smarter dress code, one man was wearing a baseball hat. However, I had never visited before so was only judging it on other peoples reviews. I would visit again but it’s not somewhere I could stay all night. The music was terrible.
Didn't realise no food. Needs to be taken off website if not doing. I'd booked for a 50th bday expecting to have a nice meal
Wonderful bottomless brunch and friendly service, thank you!
Lovely view over the city, table at 6:30 means can watch the sunset
Loved it, very good service and ambiance. Will definitely return
We were phoned 1/4 hour before our reservation time to check if we were still going. No mention then, but when we arrived and shown to our seats, we realised - weren’t told- that there was no food being served.
This wasn’t clear at all from the booking, especially as the menu was available on your app including food.
We wanted to eat and so had to leave - extremely disappointed! We could have booked somewhere else and it’s only common sense an courtesy to inform potential customers in advance that they do not serve food.
just wish you guys did food overall amazing
Billed as somewhere to eat - but it doesnt serve food on Thursday - so an OK bar with a decent view. i assume when it does serve food it would be busier. service friendly and efficient. just ensure you dont describe it on open table as somewhere to eat except weekends
Disappointed as I made the booking 3 months ago for my boyfriends birthday , get there to find out you don’t do food anymore even though food menu shows on websites and received no email or anything to inform us. Couldn’t get in anywhere else to have food as so last minute. Tried contacting sky lounge to do something special for my boyfriend and got ignored. Paid for two drinks and got charged for both but didn’t bring the second over until I asked. Disappointed when it was for a special occasion.
Great atmosphere, very friendly service and they never let your glass get empty.
I had to ask three times if we could order drinks. The staff just kept walking past us and pretending they could not see us despite It being almost empty.
Me and my husband holiday in Leeds at least once a year to stay at this hotel and enjoy the bar so we were very surprised by the poor service.
When our drinks arrived a mojito and a short and stormy, the mojito was weak and not up to the standard we have come to expect.
We did not order food due to the bar not serving any due to covid. However the review system would not let me progress to this page unless I rated it! So please ignore the food rating.
Sky Lounge @ Leeds Hilton please return to your usual self!
I messed up my booking and I booked for the wrong day. Staff were lovely and sorted it out. They were great while we were there and the cocktails were fantastic xxxxx
I booked a table for two expecting to be able to order food as there was no indication on OpenTable that food wasn’t being served and there was a menu available.
We were seated quickly and given drinks menus. The server was pretty quick to take our order but it took a while to get the drinks themselves.
Once our drinks did arrive I asked to a food menu but was met with a confusing explanation the jist of which was that they’re no longer doing evening meals, it’s afternoon tea only.
So after ringing around we found that the NEON CACTUS, an amazing and delicious Mexican restaurant on Call Lane, could fit us in and feed us...so we left. After one drink.
I’m pretty sure there will be enough walk-ins for it not to matter to their business but it wasn’t cool from a customer service POV.
Sky Lounge is hella pretentious at the best of times, and I just don’t have the lip filler or fake tan to ever look at home there, plus their range of beers is very poor. But I had a powerful lust for the delicious triple cooked chips and flat iron strips with salsa verde, but sadly disappointed.
On the up side I can 1000% recommend NEON CACTUS, Call Lane. The service, the food, the drinks, the ambiance and the value for money are all top notch 👌🏻
we didnt eat. there was an intimidating atmosphere due to groups of mens sat on a table with 8 sitting and others standing around them going to the bar and wondering around without masks on.
i have videos also. please contact me for further infirmation
Lovely evening with live music great vibe. Service fantastic and well organised.
Always a great time here. Love it . On a dry/warmer night you could sit out on the balcony enjoying the skyline of leeds
Beautiful cocktails and amazing customer service!
It was brilliant the food was lovely, the restaurant is a nice place we will defo be back.
Afternoon tea was a delight. On a personal note we prefer more savoury to sweet so would prefer an extra sandwich or savoury pastry to sweet, but that is not a criticism just our choice. Staff very attentive and extremely helpful. We had a great afternoon thank you.
Had a great time at the sky lounge served by Laiken for a friends birthday. Drinks were kept flowing and food was great. Will definitely recommend.
Very good venue, but would recommend booking a table in advance especially on weekends because it was quite busy
Great ambience at the Doubletree and such good value for money. The waiter was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend and we will certainly be back!
Expectation was high and looking forward to afternoon tea with my wife, the sky lounge was comfortable with a good panoramic vista of Leeds, then the food arrived, what a disaster, the serving platter was scuffed and the food on it was bland and not even a hint colour!
The bread was bordering on stale and still with crusts, not expected from such a renown hotel chain, and there wasn't even a full sandwich between us, the savories were indistinguishable and had you been blind folded it would have been near impossible to determine the taste or difference, the token sweet was undescernable, finally something to behold a scone which looked and tasted like a scone, hurrah!
When one mentions the Hilton it suggests a certain quality which on this occasion was woefully below par and the kitchen and front of house staff should be immensely embarrassed to serve this pathetic assembly of food to paying customers.
I will be pursuing this directly with the hotel management.
I will never return and if asked would not recommend this hotel.
First time back for a number of views but still a great location. Great for weekend Brunch but essential to book. Staff work incredibly hard but are welcoming and cheerful.
Poor customer service. Had a reservation at 5:00 pm and the staff said they won’t be serving food until 7pm. Ordered cocktails and had to wait 30 mins to get them. Just dreadful
Asked to move as near a large group and waiting staff more than happy to move us. Staff were fantastic at keeping us topped up. Great service!
Excellent time, staff were really good and the service was superb. Had a great time celebrating my birthday.
The food choice was not your normal afternoon tea, fabulous and friendly service
We went for bottomless brunch and the food was great. The service was also amazing and the staff are lovely
It’s hard to rate your service when you never actually received any in the first place.
It was my first Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend and I wanted to surprise him with cocktails and tapas at the sky lounge as he mentioned he’s always wanted to go.
So I booked the deal where you get tapas and cocktails included. We turn up on time for our table but we had to ask the staff to show us too our table.
We then sit at our table, wait a while and ask a staff member if we perhaps needed to order at the bar.
She replied “this is not my area someone will be with you shortly” another 20 minutes pass still without a drink or our order been taken for food we just decided to leave. We instead went to the slug and lettuce and had a much better evening.
What a waste of time.
Ver good environment，but a little bit terrible afternoon tea.
Overall good atmosphere, although very expensive drinks and a lack of live music/DJ which is stated on the website
First time visiting, had a fabulous time enjoying the bottomless brunch with a friend. Will be returning soon for afternoon tea 😊 Can’t wait !!
Come here every time we visit Leeds... Absolutely love it.... Cocktails are divine... Staff always friendly... Love the location.. Superb evening spent yet again... Thanks...
Fantastic service will definitely visit again food excellent at sky lounge.
If you’d like to spend time with friends and chat- absolutely NOT recommended. Music is far too loud! We couldn’t hear our own thoughts so forget about conversation.
View is brilliant, however very windy on the balcony. The service at reception good, however, waitresses rude and very unpleasant to be served by. Look like upset for being at work- no people/soft skills whatsoever.
In general, good place for getting drunk with no other entertainment. Bare in mind though, drinks not cheap and you probably won’t get a smile from a waitresses!
I would visit the sky lounge again. The tapas was amazing and really good value, however, the drink prices are extortionate. I don't mind overpaying for drinks if the service is impeccable, however, it isn't. I think the management need to increase staffing levels in the bar to provide a higher quality service to cover the prices they are charging.
I booked afternoon tea in the sky lounge for a friend’s birthday, I booked it on cyber Monday so got a great deal. The waiter was very accommodating filling our glasses with prosecco before they were empty, and asking if there was anything else we needed. The food was amazing and filling. We will definitely be booking again well worth it.
Unfortunately we didn’t have a good experience at Sky Lounge. Arrived and waited over 15 minutes to get seated, it was clear they were understaffed as I had to find someone to tell them we had a booking. Got our table and no one brought a menu, we called someone over and they didn’t come so we had to stand up and literally look for waiters to give us a menu. After 30 minutes we again had to find someone to take our order, only to find out that food had a 45 min wait time... they gave us complimentary drinks for the inconvenience. Food arrives, a dish is missing and the same gruelling activity of finding someone so that it can be addressed began again. Finally, someone came over and told us that he will inform the kitchen, when asked if we could order other dishes he said that unfortunately they weren’t taking anymore orders as they ran out of food.... didn’t even have desserts left.
All in all a nightmare of an evening, getting the bill was also an ordeal.....
It was a good experience and although it was cold they had heaters outside . The service was ok and drinks expensive but that didn't ruin the experience.
