Skylon Tower Revolving Dining Room
The view, of course, is the main reason to dine here. The food is ok, although my husband had some stomach troubles after his meal. Mine was ok; the rice was very salty. Charging for a refill on a soda is very chintzy. Our waiter was nice. Don't like the tableside credit card payment.
Our servers were not that friendly. Everything else was good though.
The food is excellent and worth the price. The view of the falls and city is spectacular. The only downside is suffer with motion sickness. It can be a little much with the floor turning.
The view is spectacular! When we arrived, I was a bit disappointed that we didn't have a window table which I requested in my reservation. I was told that would be a 30 minute wait. We had a booth just aside from the window which was elevated and very comfortable and we could still see the falls.
Two of us ordered dirty martinis that were not dirty, but the server made up for it by bringing a flask of olive juice with extra olives to our table. The food was delicious - among the 4 of us were two filets, one prime rib and one salmon - all very good. The server convinced us to order the pecan praline cheesecake, and we were very glad we did - it was fabulous. Overall, it was a very good meal and lovely atmosphere.
I would recommend. But do NOT get the veal. It was horrible. But the filet was awesome. View was spectacular. Service was doting to begin with, and awful at the end. Probably just trying to get you out for the next seating....overpriced, but again, worth the view.
I liked it and would go back but it is VERY pricey (which I knew ahead so was not surprised). There was a long hair on the outside of my glass when my drink was set down in front of me and I noticed right away and said something so it was taken away and another drink (at least I presume another drink) was brought to me. Two small roasted potatoes were served with my prime rib. One was not fully cooked.
They certainly try to cram as many people in this restaurant as a they possibly can. We sat at a very small table for two (the smallest table I have ever sat at for two people) and the next table was so close that the back of the person’s chair at the next table was right against our table (I sat with the window beside me and my husband sat next to me facing the window) my husband had to move our bread basket because the lady’s hair was almost hanging in our basket because her chair was right up against our table. Really no fault of hers, that’s just how tight we were crammed in there.
The whole experience from start to finish was great. The views are superb. The meal was ok, not exactly five star, but very edible. The waiting staff were attentive, but not in your face. A definite must do if you are visiting Niagara Falls.
Très belle soirée, bon accueil , bon service, magnifique vue ..
The view was amazing, the meal did not match up to the price they charged.. But you are really paying for the spectacular 360 degree revolving view. I had requested a table next to the seat, but were seated at a leveled up platform facing the windows. It just wasn't the same since you can't really see the waterfalls. We asked our waiter for another table right next to the window and he happily obliged. The rest of the night was great, we all really enjoyed the view even though the food tasted just ok. I would still recommend it for the overall experience!
Good place for family, friends and lovers. Very good food. We enjoyed the city views specially looking to to Niagara Falls.
Great view, delicious food. Definitely worth it.
Great views, well organize and good service. Food was average at high price
Beautiful view, great service, wife's strip steak was sub standard, very fatty and loaded with muscle not worth even 1/3 of the money. Tenderloin was fine, chicken dry, apps very good, very expensive for the meal you got. Drinks were great and so was the service.
Good place with views. The prices are high, but I was fine with access to the other floors. I've been there for three times, and I am alright with my recent experience. Hope that they had a courtesy to hold my table for another 10 min though, which was taken and replaced by the table on second row far from windows.
We wish we had had a window seat for the best view, but the revolving dining room was still a good experience. The live pianist was a great addition and the servers were all very nice. We went at 7:30 during summer, so it got dark while we were up there and by the time we rotated to the falls they were illuminated!
The Skylon Tower is an older structure. Diners need to keep that in mind when going. Seating was crowded. Service was very good, as as the food. A bit pricey, but worth it for the view.
Anniversary dinner, food was not fresh... soggy Caesar salad and over cooked oily seafood pasta Salad...drinks and view were awesome. But I will never return!
The view was of course exceptional.
Unfortunately the food was not good, we had a chicken breast which was supposed to have been with herbs of which there was little trace and the actual meat was dry. The seafood linguine were actually seafood noodles. The steak which we had ordered medium rare seemed to have been broiled as opposed to grilled, shame as the quality of the meat was good. Considering the plates were pretty basic, which is fine, it's a shame they didn't manage to cook them properly!! A missed opportunity considering the place they have.
Great view. Paying premium for that just wish food and drinks were better
We had a wonderful dinner. The soups were fantastic and my steak and lobster were perfectly cooked. George and Josh provided impeccable service. My only complaint is that the restaurant needs cooler air conditioning. It was rather warm.
Wait staff and MC was amazing. Food was good not great. But all worth it for the view!
Delightful experience! Absolutely stunning view. Food & service was even better than I expected it to be. Definitely impressed! Our young daughter (tween) was mesmerized by the whole experience!
Awesome experience! Jillian and Adam were knowledgeable and fun and just amazing servers! We were celebrating our first time at Niagara Falls and our last trip before bringing our daughter to college. We enjoyed every moment and might just make it our annual tradition !
We are on vacation from the USA and wanted to have the best view of Niagara Falls and with their revolving restaurant, there was no disappointment. Great food, great staff, insanely perfect views. Tables for 2 along the window for ideal seating !
If you are visiting Niagara Falls, a meal at the Skylon Tower is a great idea. The 360 view as the restaurant rotates is beautiful. The menu has a nice selection and the kid’s menu is especially great. The food was well prepared and served with a starch and vegetable. The meal is expensive, but considering the premium view, not unexpected. Each table has two assigned waiters and an unobstructed view.
Stay away from the arcade on the bottom floor.
This was our first visit to Niagara Falls and Skyline Tower Dining Room. We sat at a table by the window and watched Niagara falls and surrounding area go by as the restaurant revolved about once per hour. We were there about 2 1/2 hours. Spectacular views! The service was very good, the menu was varied and the food was outstanding! One of the best experiences we ever had at a restaurant. While the Falls were the main attraction, the restaurant itself was well worth the rather high price. We wil definitely return should we be in Niagara Falls again.
The views were amazing. Tables were really squeezed tight and wait staff not super attentive. Food was good though.
Go for the views, not the food. Here is why my rating is low and realistic:
-as soon as we sat down at this "fine dining" restaurant, we were rushed to order as the chef was closing the kitchen (it was 3pm and this was the only time offered to us by the restaurant). We hadn't opened the menus when we were asked "ready to order"
-long hair in the napkin serviette as soon as we sat down
-Average plate was over 30 each for barely average food.
-I asked if the chicken breast on the caesar was supposed to be cold, waitress said "kinda". Salad was wet. Chicken was layered/masked with an extra strong garlic. Garlic bread with cheese was ice cold.
-hamburger was dry and OK. Soggy fries.
-kids were served last which was super odd as they only ordered a simple plain noodle plate each.
-diet coke was flat
-told NO WASHROOM and we need to go upstairs to other floor on tower
However, this restaurant is not completely a waste. The views are spectacular and a few people working there were nice (our waitress and hostess). The bread and butter was great.
Advice: If you dont want to serve people at specific times, do not take reservations. Nobody needs to be guilt tripped or rushed by "the chef", a few minutes after being seated. Work on improving the food quality in order to justify very high prices. We paid close to $300 for 4 adults and 2 kids but we wasted lots of food due to the low quality. Try to have your staff act happy. Most of the employees just look unhappy and do not seem approachable.
This is my first review ever but had to say something as my group was unhappy.
Like many revolving venues the view is really the only reason to go. The food was acceptable but not a good value. I had the Seafood chowder (tomato based) and the sea bass. The chowder was good but both the tomato broth and the sauce on the sea bass were over powering. My partner had linguine with a heavy red pepper sauce that was okay at best.
The service was attentive and pleasant. There is no question there is an astounding view of the falls and if you consider the view as part of what you are paying for then it is worth it. Don't expect a stellar food experience.
Vue imprenable sur les chutes. Restaurant de bonne qualité avec un bon service. Excellent moment
The view was the only nice thing. Service was awful and miserable. I was there and asked if I was ready to order before I even got a drink order in then the waitress Rose purposefully ignored us until the table next to us finally told her we wanted to order. I asked for my steak with no pink and got it back twice with a raw middle. Never again will I go to a place just for a view. That was awful.
Great place. Food was great as well as the views!
What makes the Skylon Tower wonderful is the view - spectacular . I had the seafood symphony which was very good, my mother had the tortellini which was gluey and pasty - very unappetizing and very overpriced for the quality of the dish. The waitress was OK, I got the feeling she wanted to scold us for taking so long to order (we were enjoying the view), she did not that was just her vibe. Our lunch ended up costing over $130 and that was without any alcohol or appetizers (we did have one desert and coffee).
Food was very slow coming and overcooked when it arrived.
Good view but you are better off just going to observation tower. Food was not great, super expensive and reminds you of a smelly place your grandparents might take you because they thought it was good 40 years ago. Lots of other places for good views of the Falls like the parks or grabbing dinner or a drink at one of the other restaurants. So overall I would say the price, food and poor server choices of wine recommendations would not warrant going.
The view was amazing since we had a window seat. The food and service was just good but not at the level expected for the price (for example, my wife's chicken breast was very small and had a wing still attached to it and was dry for $43. My seafood pasta only had 3 jumbo shrimps and two scallops for $50). Maybe the buffet would be better value.
They should provide a voucher for the parking when you have a dinner at the dining room.
Amazing food and service in an enchanted setting!
I recommend coming here for the view, the food is good but for this price it is not good enough. and service level it is a disaster for a place like this. the waiter Viany was rude, no service, not smiling, and did not pay attention to us, he even removed his badge when we looked, luckily for the dessert Mr Joshua took the order and it was better.
