Rude waiter brought us the bill without us asking for it. It means he want us to go away, we were just about to order some extra food and drinks. Really, poor service unfortunately. Avoid
We found that the service was very poor and staff not that friendly
The food was ok and didn’t come out very hot !
Staff were really helpful and the food was good. Tables too packed in so felt like we were sitting with other people and noise levels made it very difficult to hear and hold a conversation
We were given the worse table on the terrace, my chair was literally next to the reception booth.
All the other tables were covered and had outdoor heaters on top of them, ours was uncovered and no heater.
Food was average, the starter arrived at the same time as the mains. One of the items ordered by my friend was missed so we had to wait for that.
Food was average and expensive for the portions’ size.
Very nice food. Definitely will be back. The cocktails were great too.
Great food, vibes! Thanks
Great location and ambiance. Burger was great. Service was a bit slow though.
Good prompt service on a busy night with only outdoor eating
Service was excellent. Very welcoming and attentive. Food was just ok and expensive for the quality.
Positive: We were early to our booking and they were able to sit us down and accommodate. The service was quick.
Negative: All the tables were too close together. It was really difficult to move around and you were almost shoulder to shoulder with the table next to you.
Our order was wrong and some plates never came out. The table next to us had the same issue as well. I informed them of this, then asked for the bill so I’m unaware if our plates were even ordered from the start.
WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER! I had booked this place as a pre-drinks place for my 21st birthday celebration. My friend and I ordered two glasses of champagne and an order of the chili edamame before we were supposed to head off to a nearby restaurant for dinner. We got the rudest waiter ever. His name was SALVATORE. We ordered our drinks and appetizer and he gave us extremely judgmental looks as if to say “are you cheap? Why wouldn’t you order more?” Also, throughout the entire time my friend and I were there, he would go into the corner and stare at my friend and I and talk to his friend about us. He also rolled his eyes at us about four times when we called him over to ask/order more things. We repeatedly asked for water and napkins, two times, and he was annoyed at us for not ordering more. Because of that, he purposely forgot to bring napkins and water because they were free items and wouldn’t add more to the final bill. Then, for a final touch, he acted very annoyed when we asked for the bill and my friend gave him 3 £10 notes to cover it. He became very angry that we weren’t going to order more and was super petty. He gave my friend her change, which was £10, in 20 pence coins so it would make it inconvenient for her to put it in her wallet and carry it around. Steer clear of this place and never go here!! This place also doesn’t follow COVID precautions and places tables 4 inches apart. Will be taking further action against this place tomorrow!
Outdoors experience for dinner and drinks was very good. Only concern was the service for dinner, but we understand that you may be under staffed.
Very good food - quality matches the price as well!
Service was quite slow despite a lot of waiting staff
Amazing food and service. However, their seating arrangement is a joke. All tables are cramped next to each other, there’s zero social distancing or what so ever in place. Not great given that we are still in mid of a pandemic.
Poor service from the waiters and food was tasteless with almost no flavours. bad weather and sitting outside is understandable and it's acceptable that it's a hard time for everyone. But the waiters looked and acted like they didn't want to be there at all which made the whole experience very unpleasant. The food was just blunt and nothing to note on a positive side
Nice place to visit, drinks were lovely, although cocktail options are limited. We ordered the chicken, but expected it with some vegetables or something - the plate felt quite bare, albeit the food was nice, quite small portions. Would go back on a sunnier day, and the staff were excellent.
Very nice spot !!!!
Poor service, slow. In an hour and a half we were served a drink and a main. So much opportunity to upsell wasted. Had the service been better we would have had desserts and at least another round of drinks. There were 4 of us. Really need to make more effort to make people spend!
The service was excellent, the food and cocktails were delicious although everything was small portioned for the price.
The food was good, but the outdoor sitting experience was very poor. When asked if the heaters could be switched on, the personel said that these do not work. When asked if we could sit somewhere less windy we were denied even though many tables were free. The food was cold and even though we were given blankets, the whole experience was bad. It's unacceptable to have non functional heaters!
Birthday dinner on Saturday. Smiths has inadequate coverage outside, it has not been well designed. We were on the edge, there were insufficient heaters, several not working and in anyway nothing near us. Food was okay, service was good, but too cold to enjoy. Disappointing.
slow service, waited half an hour to be asked what drinks we wanted. Very disappointing when you get told you have an hour and a half before you have to leave. Tables are all crammed in and social distancing is impossible. Food was okay but nothing special.
Nice food. Blankets was a nice touch. Good service.
The staff are so good and the organisation in what we are allowed to do in this stage of lifting lockdown was absolutely well done. It was busy but this was to be expected and definitely don't get turned off by this. The staff here are excellent and can handle it.
The signature cocktails were really good fun and delicious. I had a Chilli Billi and my friend had a Smiling Larry. The food was good but I thought my Spring Chicken with roast potatoes was a little stingy on the potatoes (they were cubed and if I put them together I think I would have had a potatoes if lucky). My friend and the fish n chips and was delighted. Sitting outside was well organised with blankets and heating. Overall we had a great experience and totally recommend. (good wine too).. x
It was nice but the table of boys behind us were so loud, one of them fell over tipping the table and drinks with him. Also, the food is ok but too expensive for what it is.
Me and my family had a good time at smith’s
The service was also very good
And food was average.
Visited on a Friday afternoon. The tables are definitely not 2mt (or even 1mt apart). Half the waiting staff has the mask only covering the mouth and not the nose.
My guest and I both had a £30 steak. We asked for medium rare and the steak came completely uncooked in the middle so we had to send it back. The few fries that came with it were the bog standard frozen and the sauces were the heinz sachets . For a £30 dish that I am eating squashed between tables, I would expect salad to come with it and the chips to look a bit more rustic/home made and the sauces to be home made or at least presented in a fancier way. That said the steak was nice and a good size. I have visited in the past and I think the standards have gone down and the prices up.
Unfortunately the table we were sat on was not covered & it was particularly nippy with the breeze. Fortunately it only started to rain as we were leaving but would have been a real issue if it started when we were still eating.
The staff who waited on us were lovely, Manager not so much when we asked to move tables. A large place like this should really have no excuse for not being fully prepared for the weather changes. Sea bass ceviche & banana parfait- AMAZING!
The carpaccio was delicious but ruined by too much sauce.
Chicken ceaser was average.
I ordered a Ribeye medium rare. It came fairly quickly which is good but was a bit cold as if it was sitting on the pick up counter for 5 to 10 mins. The wooden plate that was served on is lovely but kept twisting around.
A couple of errors (confusions?) with the order (received a bottle of wine, rather than two glasses) but nothing serious and the staff were attentive, the food good and the Pornstar Martini fabulous!
Tables extremely close together, very small portions, had to ask twice for menus/dietary information/drinks.
Food was nice, the only thing that let the evening down was the outside heaters weren’t working so it was very cold sitting outside. The service was good but the staff were very busy so it was slow.
Hair in my fish and chips. Fish was cold in the centre. The staff were moving so fast that they missed out on additional orders that’s I wanted to place.
Great experience !! Loved the setting. Love to come back in the summer.
The Peruvian Japanese fusion was delicious. I loved the sushi and salmon tacos. Really good there were outdoor heaters as well. Will definitely visit again to try more items on the menu.
it was wet and windy outside, but we were lucky to be sat in an enclosed area (not all are ) and had a heater near by. Waiters attentive from start, drinks and food quick to order and receive. Recommend!
Came here with my manager after not seeing her for months, to discuss work and have some girl chat. I chose here for content for my food blog- wasn’t too pleased. Honestly our food was so delish. No complaints there. The service was very poor though. We were breaking our necks to get people’s attention. Also to say we are in a pandemic, you’re practically sat on top of people. The waiter literally turned the heaters away from us to another table so we were also freezing which was so rude. I also had to get up and walk to the front desk and ask for the bill, they didn’t even ask how our food was or if we wanted another drink. Literally took our food whilst I was still eating the chips.
If it wasn’t for the service I’d come back
Staff were friendly but not very quick, food was ok (chicken and pork belly) overcooked.
Small portions, not very good value.
